Translator application that does not require a data connection? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Hi,
I'm looking for a translation application for my HD2, google translate would be awesome, but since I'm constantly roaming I can not use it.
Does anyone know of an application that translate english to german and the other way around that does not require a data connection?
Thanks..

I use lingvosoft for English-Japanese and it works great. I think English-German will be a breeze.

Is this purely translation, or could it be used to help learn japanese. I'm using Rosetta stone, trying to learn Japanese. But would be nice to brush up while I'm not at my pc.

What IM (ICQ) for smartphone?

Slick - works, has history (but doesnt send IM to offline ICQ users and cannot receive messages that were sent to me before logging)
IM+ - works, but no history
Fring - works, but no history
Do you know any other IM's that support ICQ and keep chat history?
EDIT: I've just found Mundu IM which seems like a great app. I will test it during the trial period.

If you can pay then try Agile - it is very good and supports everything you need. You can try it out for a month or so. The older version works indefinitely with jabber protocole and for everything else you need to register.
I can give you a hint about it if you want
Palringo is free and works pretty good. I have it on 2 smartphones and 3 different PPC phones. Once nice feature is once you get it configured with all of your other protocols, the protocol settings will carry over to any other device you log into. Saves a LOT of typing.

Right now, I think it's by far the best free multi protocol messenger.

I have translated Pigeon's interface into English myself Only issue I have: I put this line in my homescreen <plugin clsid="{DC49079C-23C8-4e83-8BBF-805CC6B44AD4}" name="Pigeon!today"/> but nothing shows up (I have reloaded the homescreen but no change). Do you use it?
EDIT: It's ok with installed homescreen/today dll.

Can you post the translated version here pls?
Unfortunately the author forbids this. If I do this, the author may stop support editing resources in the futere versions. http://pigeon.vpro.ru/
I am using Slick which is still under development and it is free now.....Check out the lonelycatgames.com web page.

Free Dictionary Org

Does the Free Dictionary Org app still work or is it just in incompatible with the N1?
Also could someone suggest me a good dictionary app?

Honestly, since dictionary apps like Free Dictionary hit the Internet anyway, I have been using i.word.com (from Merriam Webster). It's awesome. Bookmark it and make a shortcut and you're good to go.
There is simple but butiful offline dictionary shell - WordMate. It supports StarDict dictionaries and has its own dictionary downloader. But I'm not sure yet whether it works on N1 or not.

[Q] Good translator app for WP7.5

Hi. Today, my mum bought a Nokia Lumia 710. However, no one else in the family has ever used a Windows Phone, so I've been tasked with setting the phone up for her. It's it imperative that she has access to a two way Polish/English dictionary. On her old dumbphone Nokia she could:
type words with live suggestions;
view alternative meanings;
switch between the two languages with one click;
use her dictionary without an internet connection.
So, I'm looking for an app which can do that. It doesn't have to be free, and it doesn't have to be offline, as long as it doesn't use 50GB per word or something ridiculous like that. Thanks!
I love the Bing Translator app.

Hi. I've tried your app, but I didn't like it. Being able to suggest words as she types them, and the suggesting alternatives is vital. Also, the interface felt a bit cluttered. Sorry
// This looks good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hpJ3_oBcTw I'll try it out later.

Don't be sorry - with over 100K happy customers I'm absolutely fine with it
P.S. BTW, I'm strongly recommending you to give your mom a chance to try VoiceTranslator. You might be very surprised...
I am not sure if it has all the features you need, but the Microsoft-made Bing Translator is quite a fine app. I have only used it lightly, so I don't know if it has everything you're looking for. But, again, it's quite awesome.

Bing translator should not have the first two functions listed (at this moment I have WP in assistance, so I can not try now).
I can tell you, however, that the program has the last two features you'd like, there is also recognition by the camera and voice (though the latter takes an active connection).
I am very well and then bing translator is one of the best (perhaps better than Google translator)
It doesn't really need extra features. She's not very technologically advanced, and it takes her months to get to know a phone, especially a smartphone. I'm starting to doubt I'm her son really

Possible tweak to make Speech work?

I understand that the Speech-function only works in some languages.
However... couldn´t it be possible to make the English Speech function work on a non supported language? I mean... as long as English is installed with the ROM it´s there, right?
As of now I have to change my systemlanguage from Swedish to English to make it work. It feels like it SHOULD be quite easy for a developer to make something of this...
I use my7ROM...
Best regards
