OK... That's going to be a controversial topic, but I'm wondering what's the best kitchen for Treo?

Hey all
I've noticed a LOT of the newer devices have the AKU 3 update installed and on these forums theres a few devices which have had aku3 updates cooked for them!
im wondering if theres any interest in developing one for the tornado range of devices, theres a lot of people who use this device and i reckon it would be quite good!
I'm up for cooking a rom, but i dont know where to start learning, i have virtually nil programming knowledge, only HTML!
so post back if you would be interested in cooking a rom and if you CAN cook a rom!
Hey
OK, i've got a load of free time now, so ANYONE who is willing to help develope a new ROM for the Tornado, post here and collect our knowledge!
i'm going to be reading up on most of the theory today so i can figure out whats what.

Where do you get AKU3 rom ? link ?
salaam
I was considering extracting the AKU3 update from a different smartphone, like say the I-mate SPL (the RAZR-esque one) and then would it not just be a straightforward, swap out of drivers, like swap display, keyboard, joystick, hardware buttons over in place of the ones that come originally with the i-mate spl rom?
if people have managed it by adapting a benq rom for the himalaya (im assuming they just replaced the drivers for ones compatible with the Himalaya)
could anybody elaborate on this?
thanx
i know almost the whole process of dumping the rom, modifying it.. but i cant compile the final product. has anybody managed to compile the "dump" folder?
Hi, i sure hope the great genious arond here can figure this out.
Hey folks, I've been looking around the board, (and net) for the stock tmobile shadow theme (link below) for the wizard (wm5 or 6) without much success....
Does it exist? Is it in the works?
Thanks alot for your help!

Maybe...
I'm not too sure that this would work for multiple reasons. One, I read somewhere that MS made this as proprietary for the T-Mo Shadow. Also, it's smartphone software and this is a ppc.
The biggest problem is that since it's a new product, no one knows how to dump the rom. I posted a thread under smartphone general to see if anyone would try with pdocread. I was hoping to port the Neo interface over to my aging mpx200.
At the same time, I'm excited to try this. If someone posts the dump, I assure you that it will be ported over to the wizard by our wonderful cooks. (me not included!). Of course, i'll be willing to try.
expiditous relply
damn that was fast. lol thanks ND4SPD
I know our lovely chefs will cook something up soon... it's just a matter of time... <rubs hands together with a sinister grin>... it's just a matter of time.
thanks theloon for giving the dump. i'll start messing with it for both my mpx200 and the wizard
just a matter of time...
Hello all,
I'm new around here but I'll try to do some cooking and after a few days of reading I found a few kitchens for Kaiser: Alex's kitchen, Mbarvian's and PPCGeeks Kaiser kitchen.
Now which of them is better and more user friendly?
Also I would like for you to motivate your answers .. if this is possible, ofcourse

MBarvian's beta kitchen LOL
Honestly, I find the ppcgeeks.org kitchen very bloated, but that's because I don't like running things through the "Updater". _Alex_'s are exceptional, but I use mine the most
The nice thing about the ppcgeeks kitchen is that it is easy for anyone to use yes there is a ton of stuff included in it but that makes it nice for those that just want to download something and make roms. Also ppcgeeks kitchen has some of the most recent sysbuilds you can find out there. Of course i am a bit biased because I built much of the kaiser piece for the ppcgeeks kitchen but try it anyone interested you'll like it!
There's a site other than XDA-Dev?
Ok, so since there are now dozens of new kitchens floating around w/ every new OS release/port...is the Wiki really current? I'm thinking of trying out cooking a WM6.5 ROM using either Josh's or Medkid's Kitchens but I think they include a few things the Wiki doesn't cover. I could be wrong so don't flame me if I am.
Anyways, it'd be nice to add the 6.5 info to the Wiki. I'd gladly do it myself BUT I'm obviously not up to speed enough to feel competent enough to do it (redundant much? lol)
But yeah, would be appreciated =]
Thanks!
I'll second that. I've been testing out 6.5 roms now for about a week and they're all wonderful, especially Josh's. So an update on Wiki for 6.5 roms would be nice.
It's a wiki, edit it yourself

Hey guys,
I'm getting a NS in a few days, so I started looking around for some handy tools to have. I'm not a developer, but im very keen on learning a least a little more about android, since I had a great time modding/themeing my HTC Dream. My question goes: Does a full-blown kitchen for NS exist? Or is it possible to use Galaxy S family kitchen without issues? I found an online kitchen on Modaco, but that's not what I'm looking for. I need some basic kitchen where I can start my own dev story
Thanks in advance
EDIT: Problem solved. dsixda's HTC Android Kitchen branch supports SNS, and is what I'm really looking for.
Lock the thread please!
