Battery meter? - Touch Pro2 CDMA

Hey all, I'm new to this forum and loving it! I've had a Verizon touch pro 2 for about two months now, but the one thing I really want is a battery meter that shows something more detailed than 4 bars. Seems the battery indicators that are out there only work for GSM phones...is there one that will work with my Verizon phone?
Thanks!

[Q] Replacing HTC One X battery

Hi all.
I want to know how many charge-discharge cycles does HTC One X battery have?
Will the battery last more than 2 years? Quite uncommon, but I would not like to change my smartphone for quite some time (> 5 years ??).
I have read that due to uni-body design we cannot remove HTC One X battery.
So even if I want to get my device repaired after battery's life is over, can i not get the battery changed through HTC or some repairer?
Similar question for Samsung SII. I read that the Super AMOLED Plus screen gives lot of burn-in and other issues. Is it possible to get the screen replaced after it becomes unbearable. How much would that cost?
Thanks for replies in advance.
Regards,
amit112amit
Actually I'm also interested in this. I'm planning to use the device more than 2 years.
From what I saw from the attached image, battery can be changed from pins theorically after all.
I have not seen sellers of such battery. Anyone saw any ?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I had contacted HTC via email as well as telephone. They said their service center can change battery if need be even after two years(not for free of course).
I already bought the phone based on this assurance.
Hope this helps.

about 200€ on ebay, but in the next two years surely the price decrease
phone: sgs2 GT-I9100

Well the thing I was wondering about these days is can we just replace one x battery with one x+?
I think it's possible, because everything is the same, I mean size and connection.
So, if you can buy htc one x+ battery, you can put it in your htc one x and have a nice upgraded 2100 mAh battery instead of 1800!
I'm wondering if the HOX will still be as solid and tight after tearing the entire thing apart and putting it all back together. Creaking along the edges sure is unwelcome.
The phone's battery is ok, but just turn the screen's brightness to low
Hello, I had many of the same concerns about this phone before I purchased it, however, after having the phone and using it for a while as well as reading about the battery life of the lithium polymer battery, I'm confident it will last quite a while. Just note that the screen does take up A LOT of juice, therefore I have a widget to change the backlight to whatever percentage I want...normally at 10-15 unless brighter is needed...it's still pretty bright at zero. Also, there are a few games that really kill the battery, so make sure to be near an outlet if you want to play those for very long. But for the average person's usage...the phone's battery charge will last for a whole day...maybe needing to plug it in once during the day and at night if you use it heavily like I do. I've read that lithium polymer batteries actually work a little different than lithium ions; where they don't have a set number of charges, but if you keep the battery in good health, it should last a lot longer overall than the L-ions do. I normally don't even charge up to 100 because of a few articles I read about these new batteries. I usually charge it when it gets down to 15-20 and take it off in the 90s... it's a very fast charge too so you don't have to wait forever for it.
Best widget for setting the brightness I found is called... Brightness level
Also make sure to get Battery HD Pro... it tells you exactly how long you need to charge it for...tells the percentage of charge in the upper left hand corner of the device...and give you the temp and health of the battery. They have a free and pro version...not sure the difference but the pro version is cheap and very helpful.
Also turning screen timeout down helps

Need some personal input :)

Hey guys! I might be getting this phone, need some input from first person users!
Firstly, i can get one of these for approx 300-400 and its about the same price as what a lot of people are asking for the Samsung Galaxy S 2 (SGH-T989) i find this to be rediculous. Every review ive read/watched raved about the One S. Well i want some personal input i personally think its worth buying the one S at that price then the SGS2 at the same price. But i have a couple concerns with HTC......
Ive had two HTC phones
HTC Touch Pro 2 (RhodiumW)
HTC HD2
And the HD2 gets HORRIBLE service where my TP2 got plenty of service both on T-Mobile..
So im hoping its just my HD2 and not HTC's in general. However i have had someone with the HD7 say he loses service when holding the device. I know the HD2 and HD7 both have the antenneas in the bottom of the device. (Dumb if you ask me) hows the HTC One S with this situation? Does it still get great service while holding it? Like my HD2 could have full bars, but if i begin to use it it goes to NO service -.-
Thanks all for your input!
The One S of a great device, great build quality, nice feel in the hand, excellent camera, but I had several issues that led me to switch to my current GS3. With my time with the One S, I encountered random signal loss, & poor battery life. I would use the data network & it would drop from full bars to none then climb to 2 then back full. As for battery life I would get 2 & half hours of screen on time. What I disliked the most the pitiful 9.93GB of storage. & that is my two cents.

Well the signal loss seems due to software not hardware (A plus for me) and i dont think any phone will get decent battery life without an extended battery. lI dont judge phones by battery life anymore. lol. My HD2 has a 1250 Mah battery xD

My GS3 has solid signal, & it's 2100 mah battery runs great all day if you don't mind the limited space and "decent" battery life then go for it, it is the slimmest of phones I've owned plus it has a sweet camera

Battery life S3 vs RAZR Maxx vs Rezound

I had the Rezound for about a year and finally could not take the battery life. I guess I'm a heavy user as I would get maybe 6-8 hours. I picked up a RAZR Maxx about a week ago and obviously the battery life is way better. I'm getting 1-1.5 days.
I'm considering switching to the S3 but want to have an idea of battery life as this is a top priority for me. I'm assuming it somewhere in between the Rezound and RM.
Any real world experience with all 3 devices?
Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
My wife has the Maxx and I have the 32 gig sgs 3. Now we both live in an area with crappy reception, she gets maybe five more hours than I do. My sgs 3 is stock rooted, unlocked and I can get a full day use out of it with moderate use. The sgs3 is better than the rezound for batt life, but neither will compete with the battery life of the maxx. For technology and features the sgs3 is the best of the three hands down.

If battery life is all you care about this phone is not for you.
I'd wait on the razor maxx there's a new version coming out really soon.

Battery is #1 but not the only thing. The speaker on my Maxx sucks, and reception is worse than the Rezound (Rezound was very good with reception).
So I would say my properties are :
1) battery
2) reception
3) sound (speaker and headset)
4) system performance

Fwiw, I live in a 4G area with pretty good reception. My Rezound picked up 4G pretty well in the house. My Maxx usually is on 3g.

If batterylife is a big deal you could always get a extended battery (i think they have 3rd party nfc ones now) or buy the Samsung dock that come with a secondary battery and a spot to charge it.
the battery life is fine for most. i get 10-12 hrs of heavy useage(6-7hrs screen on). 20-26hrs light/ moderate useage(2.5-4hrs screen on)
im normally see -90/ -107db signal range on LTE

With standard battery? That's pretty good IMO.
Are there good extended batteries that only add a reasonable amount of bulk? The Rezound extended battery is MASSIVE. So big I couldn't use it.

yes stock battery...also i use dark themes and wall papers, minimal widgets, no overclock, disabled most apps on start up, heavily debloated. little things like these make a huge difference.
Today I went 14 hours unplugged all on 4G with 2 hours on screen time and was at 50% battery. That is pretty awesome for a device like this if you ask me.
Someone needs to tell me how to get this battery life. Lol
Ya, I am in the same boat. Stock, with only rooting and unlocking, I am not getting anywhere near the times these guys are getting. I turned on all the battery saving tricks I could find, no dice!
I turned on the battery percentage thing next to the meter, and simple web browsing was destroying my battery in real time, to where I could see a 10% drop in about 15-20 min. Unacceptable, to the point I think I am going to try to exchange the phone this weekend. Luckily I carry an external battery pack so I am good... for now. LOL!
Man, sounds like times are all over the place. Doesn't really surprise me though since radio reception, user installed apps, and other things can have a huge impact.
I got a great deal switching from Rezound to Maxx (basically an even swap once I sold my accessories on ebay). Now I have a guy wanting to trade me his almost new s3 for my Maxx + $80. I don't think I can wrong with that deal.

I actually went from the maxx to this myself a couple weeks ago and couldn't be happier! Battery life isn't as good of course, but is still great. Root it and get a custom kernel on it ( something the RAZR can't do) and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I am in a good 4G area all throughout the day. I do not turn any data or syncing off. I have it all on including GPS. I turn off wifi when I leave my house and I do not use Bluetooth. I have my backlight set on auto. In the 2 hours of my device use I woud say 1.5 hour of that was web surfing. I use the stock browser.
What I do turn off is all the motion options as well as the screens smart stay feature. To me, this has to be using some battery. How much I do not know but it is not anything I really need.
Besides that I do absolutely nothing special to the device and have no battery saving crap which usually uses more battery then saves it. lol
Also, if you are using 10% battery in 20 minutes you should see at least 3.5 hours of on screen time at the end of the day so I would not say that is bad. Now the question is are you in a good signal area? Are you on 4G or 3G? Do you have all the motion tweaks on or off? I do not think it is an issue with your device and exchanging it will probably not yield different results.
S3 battery is pretty dam good if you ask me

The way I use my phone(I am constantly streaming iheart radio, sirius online or SlingBox), I could never make it through a long work day with any phone stock battery except of course the RAZR MAXX. I had an extended battery on my Rezound.
I condidered the MAXX, but every time I look at the screen on a MAXX (my son bought one), I want to punch a baby.
I now use my G3 with the 4000+ Hyperion battery which is impossible to kill. I leave my screen timeout set to 'never turn off' as I have never even come close to killing the battery with the setup in my sig. That battery lasted for a week and a half when I put it in airplane mode for most of a trip out of the country lately.
Sure, it makes it heavier but I actually like that. It gives me a better grip on the phone especially with the matching Hyperion tpu case.
Go for the S3, Razrs are trash.
Why Link to video will show why: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDxJoGv3FLA&feature=autoplay&list=PL2300D16ED478C0F3&playnext=8
There is much more about this phone that pissed me off, but it was all over the place and needed to be "nuked" every month or 2 weeks. The softwere made me want to take a ak-47 to "test" the "cool" back to see if it can take a 7.62mm round to the "face". LOL
Verizon did make it right, but it took alot of push and fact checking to get them to swap phones. (Droid RAZR to S3)

I've been using one here in India from the beginning August now. Its a good alternative to the M8 if you have a tight budget. I have no qualms about getting this phone, it's performance is at par with the M8 and definitely better than Z2, S5 and note 3, all of which my friends have. The 13mp camera does its job well, excellent shots in daylight, decent everywhere else. Apart from the different camera, a polycarbonate shell and a few other quirks, it's basically a M8.
From the above mentioned time, I've NEVER faced any lag. If anything, my phone performed on par, even even better at places, with a friends iPhone 6. The dot view cover is a good addition as an accessory.
If it's a dual SIM high end smartphone you're looking for, you can't go wrong with the E8. If you want to know anything in particular, feel free to ask.

1. Charges in around 2 hours with the charger provided with the box. Maybe lesser, I'm not sure because I charge overnight. But it's mostly a percent a minute. You can get better times by getting the 1.5A output charger.
2. GSam Battery Monitor shows :
Battery Life : 1d 13h
Screen On : 5h 30m
Basically easily lasts a day. Averages around 5-6h screen on time. And I have my sync on, use social networks vehemently, although I keep the battery saver on always (just the underclocking cpu option), except gaming.

I've heard from many people that one shouldn't charge overnight (basically it shouldnt be overcharged) and that it decreases the life of the battery ? What's your opinion on that please ; as i used to do that, but now stopped charging overnight as it keeps charging the battery even when it is full.....

From whatever knowledge I have of the batteries, they stop charging once they are fully charged. So there is no way they get "overcharged". As and when the battery drops a little, it again charges back itself. Which barely happens, because my phone loses only about 1-2% battery overnight if left idle.
Ideally, this view suggests that this won't have any impact on the overall life of the battery. I did the same with my One S for about 1 and a half years. It didn't show any signs of reduced battery life then.
Yes, different people do have different views on this topic, but I like to stick to my idea.
Hi, I also wanted to ask a question if you have the dual sim version. When using 3g or 4g data connection on sim1 can you use sim2 to either call or send sms?
Thanks
The only problem with E8 is less Custom ROMs . I haven't got any better custom ROM other than Bin Droid, less customisation but better than nothing. At least Bin Droid is providing 4.4.4 and HTC Eye and more colored themes

I absolutely agree. The only problem with this (awesome) phone is the lack of developer support. even on Xda, I can only found custom rom for the dual sim version. Mine is the single sim. :crying:
Otherwise. It's really a good phone. There are some times that makes me (kinda) envy M8, like the metal body, the infrared blaster, and especially the customization. Anyway.. we just have to wait and see about the lollipop update. if they filled their promise to update < 3 months, I'm a happy dude.

roms and kernels?

anyone know why there are no roms or kernels for this phone? wonder if it's because of a locked bootleader? that and the fact that the battery life sux balls i think i might return this. i love the camera and the feel of it but it's still rather laggy even after the newest update
thanks all
No roms and kernels because no custom recovery.
No custom recovery because locked bootloader.
Not sure why you're getting poor battery performance.
Battery life is brilliant for me, I can go a whole day of normal use (my normal use is probably heavy use to most people) and still have 40% when I go to bed .
What kind of apps are you using to get such lag and battery drain?
Yea, i see everyone complaining about the battery life but i have had no issues with battery life or drainage.
that was with just the basics installed. 100 percent when i start the day around 8:30 the used it to stream pandora for an hour on the way to work. then it sat in my pocked unused and the battery was at 15 percent by 1.
this is even with my battery saver proggie running that cuts of the wifi and cell antenna's when screen is off. no idea im assuming the battery is defective. but now that i know there's not gonna be roms and such i think i might just say fark it and get the m9. i see that there are already tons of roms for that. and i came from a og 3vo so i recognize all the developers.
it's just a bummer i love the curve and the camera on this thing. this is also my third gflex 2 since i got it 3 days ago. the first one just started bootlooping after fifteen mins, the second did the same and now the third seems to work good but the battery life is horrible.
tis a predicament rofl.
thanks for the info gang
j
If that's the case then you might be right about a defective battery.
Either that or the screen is coming on in your pocket, you'd probably notice your skin burning as the phone heats up though.
Have you checked Settings> Battery> Battery Usage, just to see what's using the most battery?
If you're not happy with the flex 2, the m9 is a great phone.
I got my hands on a prototype about 6 months before release, the only reason I didn't get one is that it just didn't feel right in my hand.
Battery life compare to my old Flex 1 is crap. I know its smaller and better screen resolution, but still my old G2 had better battery life than Flex 2 with same screen resolution and battery.
OP should go cr8 it
