Hello, I have been scanning the threads for quite sometime but have not found a full, satisfactory answer to my question. I am wondering if there is anyway to receive a free internet connection and/or GPS on the xv6900. And yes, I know the xv6900 does not have wi-fi... Also, if you have any other tips or hacks to make the xv6900 less restricted on the Verizon network, I would really appreciate it.

No such thing as free internet. As far as hacks (GPS), please go to the Vogue Section. Link in my signature.
So, you couldn't even connect it via bluetooth, etc?
You might be able to share an internet connection via BT, but I am not certain how. I think there might be an app or two for sharing over BT. Do a little google and see if you come up with something.
Okay, I found something.... I might have to give this a shot here soon! (http://mobileoffice.about.com/od/typesofaccessavailable/ht/bluetoothphone.htm)

Hi guys/gals,
I'm going to be getting a work mobile in a few weeks on the O2 network in the UK. I was thinking of a blackberry but then saw the XDA's (HTC). I don't really need a PDA but its a works phone and having excel would make my job a lot easier as I don't have a laptop but need some access to excel in the warehouse, as well as outlook and messenger when I'm out on site.
Now the 2 that's I'm looking at are the XDA Stellar (http://www.my-xda.com/devices/xda_stellar.jsp) and Orbit 2 (http://www.my-xda.com/devices/xda_orbit2.jsp). The problem is that they are just re-branded on the O2 network and I cant figure out which are the related HTC phones. So could someone tell me which are which so i can do some more research.
I have been reading review and seems the Stellar is a better PDA/phone as its got the slide out KB. But typical O2, i cant really tell what are the differences as one pages says one thing and the other something else.
Does the stellar have a touch screen like the orbit, with the same funtionality?
Both do Wifi and GPS?
can i get tomtom software for the XDA?
whats the battery life like on both phones? (I have heard horror stories when using 3G or WiFi with a sub 4 hour battery life)
Can u 'image' the OS and stuff like u can on a PC to back up everything? (i ask because I do like to have a play and its nice to know u can get it back to factory settings again)
any helpful links u peeps might have to gimmi a help deciding? reviews, guides ect ?
Sorry for all the questions. I really like the look of them but have never had a chance to use one so I thought i would be best to ask soem people who know the in's and out's.
thanks for the help i hope to receive!!!
Peace
SN
ha haa..
no help but i sorted it out anyway. Stellar/TyTn II is the plan.
Firstly hello! This is my first post on here so go easy please
Secondly I need some advice, I am at a stage where i need to replace my current phone and i have been looking at the O2 Orbit2. I don't like to buy without reading a review but they all seem very conflicting. You guy's seem to know what you are talking about so i would welcome your opinions / options.
My current phone is the Nokia E61 but it struggles now so it has to go, I also have to change networks because Vodafone has little or no coverage at my new house.
Thanks in advance!
Nick.
Nick, it might help a little if you state what you expect from the device, I am currently using an Orbit-2 on a T-Mobile contracted sim card, what applicatons/ software or GPS based applications do you want/ need from this device - Mike
Thanks for the reply Mike, sorry for the delay in reply and the sketchy original post. My main uses are web access/email and Excel/powerpoint based programs not sure how it would cope with these. Also any troubles with PC sync as this is something I do regularly and would be a pain if it was unstable!
The reviews I have seen have been very mixed hence i thought I would ask the experts.
Thanks again in advance.
Nick.
Hi, I am new to this forum and need some help. I recently purchased an HTC fuze from At&t and need some help getting the right ROM to get everything running well. I have read there are some out there that will enable free gps, fix the sensitivity settings and also get rid of all the junk that At&t loads it with (would like to keep opera, however, and I will need a good music player that can recognize the micro sd all the time). Kind of looking for the "best" setup before I load all my contacts and stuff. I tried searching this site for info, but there are so many threads on the issue I can't figure out what solution is best for me. I am not terrible with computers, but nor am I up to snuff with the people on this site, so any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks ahead of time for helping a noob!

Hi,
We all had to learn it
General info here
ROMs etc... here
Dirk
Not massively useful advice but the best i can suggest is to download several variations on the ROMs and try each one for a week or so to see if it "pushes your buttons". Took me eight ROMs over 6 months to find my current one and even then i don't gaurantee it will survive.
If you search on here for PIMBackup it will make the restoring of contacts and all messages a lot less painful.
Sorry fixed
Evening all,
firstly my appologies to you all if this is a common question and has been asked before. i run a car forum and know how frustrating that it can be when you have the same thing over and over again. however i have searched and althoughthere are similar problems, nothing exact to my question.
I currently have a O2 XDA Serra (HTC) and have aggreed to upgrade my contract. O2 have sent out a new phone to me, but i had to persuade the delivery driver to be able to keep my existing handset for a couple more days as i have a lot of information to come off the phone. o2 said that they need the phone back on an exchange basis.
Anyway i have managed to get all media and info of the phone, except the SMS/MMS threads. a lot of the messages are of sentimental value from people that unfortunatley aren't around anymore i dont wish to transfer the messages, purely download and be able to read back at times.
is there any software or way of doing thins please?
time is essential hear, and i would be extremely greatfull for anyone to help me out.
thankyou,
Andrew
Just try this app.

Does anyone know if the U12+ is able to connect to a WiFi and act as a repeater? Similar to what the Galaxy S9 dubs as WiFi sharing? I tried searching the forums to see if it's predecessor carried this function but found nothing. I appreciate all input.
Anyone?
Bought the phone just to check and it doesn't. Phone wasn't my cup of joe either so it didn't matter.
A quick Google search answered this question.
