Driving at night, it would be useful to have the keys always lit. Is it possible?
Maybe by modifying the registry.
Thanks in advance!
+1 i'd also like this, where possible with a option to turn on/off (since well, during the day it would be pretty useless)

By day, I agree with you. But at night in the car with the terminal in charge, yes!

Guys, im the developer of Power Switch, an app that switches off your tablet's screen when you shut the case.
The main thread can be found here:

Ive had reports of problems with the pad's light sensor, so would appreciate some debugging feedback.
You can use the lite version to test, it has all the features, but just wont save as much juice.
Thanks in advance. Feel free to reply here or in the main thread, i read both regularly!
Great idea. Does it require root?
Also, it would have been awesome if it could wakeup automatically as well, like the iPad smart cover.
No, no need for root.

That is a mechanical function. It is possible on android too, but it would kill the battery as you could never really put your device to sleep.

Who cares about a little battery juice? The cool factor would be awesome. Maybe as a timed option? Like 5 or 10 min. or more "auto wake" feature.
Fortunately, everyone cares.

I don't, and Im sure there are others that would like the option. As a developer who is trying to sell an app you might consider not generalizing your customer, rather say its not a feature I can, or wish to add to this app. Your app does have potential. Thanks for your efforts.
Ill keep that in mind. However, as a developer with some experience i still think everyone cares. Everyone who understands just what would be happening if the teblets screen would be off but it wasnt sleeping.

I'll give it a go and let you know!
Good idea.
Please do!
I think the auto wake up function would be great! Maybe you could make it as an option, people who like it can turn it on and who doesnt like it can turn it off.....
Installed it last night. Set the Auto Shutdown to 5:00, left most other defaults on. (Enable Sensors/Use Light Sensor). Plugged into AC. Closed screen and could see screen was shutting down. After 5:00 would be off. In morning (closed screen) fired it up and at full charge.
Quite nice! Anything else I should look at in the app?
I wouldnt mind if you had a good test of the sesitivity defaults...
I couldn't get it to work on my Transformer, it would only work the first time after that I had no luck getting it to register the closed lid, nor my hand covering the sensor..

Please, enable debugging and send some logs using the Write to developer item, I really would like to look into this issues.

Happy to. What settings would you suggest?
Use the "tablet" defaults please!

Gotcha. Other active settings are Enable Power Switch, Confirmation 12 sec, Activation 8 Sec, Enable Sensors, Light Sensors (50%) and Acceleration Sensor.
Will leave there for a day or two.
thanks
Brilliant, thanks a lot this is just the kind of thing i am looking for!
hi i understand there is still no BLN for Galaxy note yet but there is for galaxy S2. Is there any way to flash S2 kernel on note? Or is there any tutorial on add bln to any kernel? thanks!
No. And No, or it would have happened. BLN will requires a dev to get it working SPECIFICALLY for our hardware. People always suggest, 'can we just grab that kernel' and no, never.
bLED (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389394) is on the way to replace BLN...
thanks for the info. unfortunately for me, right now, BLED not only lights the touchkeys but also the entire screen up, which sort of defeats the purpose of lighting the touchkeys.

lit the entire screen up? where did you get that assumptions? did you even tried it?
It really did but probably some conflict with another program. Fortunately after a full wipe, and reinstall of rom and bled, it's now fine! Thank you!

No worries. Glad it worked fine now. Please post anything you find on the bLED thread. So far 0.2 had been working veeery stable on mine now
Same for me , just terrific! And contrary to some, I really like it blinking instead of permanently lit! Keep up the great work. If not for your bled, I may have gone back to s2!!

No problem! Glad it worked - I remember how frustrating it was when I stumbled across this issue myself.
Out of curiosity, did you end up using the same settings I used? Or did you have to use something different?
for me worked well in PS1 50 and PS2 60.
When your phone is in your pocket, full volume notifications are necessary if you don't want to miss a message. But when you already have your phone out and unlocked, there's no need for them to be loud and annoying, especially if you're already using the app they originate from (e.g. message apps).
Awake/Sleep Volume Adjuster lets you set custom notification volume levels for when your phone is asleep and when it's awake.
This is my first app, so I apologize for any issues it may have, but I hope people will find it useful. Either way, it's been nice to have just for myself!
Nice idea, but ram hungry!

Aw, is it really? Bummer. For me it was on par with my other background-type helper apps I use regularly. What device/version have you tried it on?
Very useful app. Thank you!
Does this effect battery life at all? This is a great idea for an application. I hate when I almost crap my pants from a notification being too loud! I hope this app does well and has many more updates in the future.

I have an HTC Evo Design 4G which has atrocious battery life (carry around a spare in my wallet) and haven't noticed any decrease. I regularly check the battery use because I have to watch for things eating it up and it hasn't shown up yet!

Nexus 5, 4.4.2
Thanks for this app it works and is very discrete. I want my ringtone loud but notifications lower so this is the way to go.
From my Z1 UB
RomAur v 7.1

I was just doing something like this with tasker so thanks! This one deserves more attention
Great and very usefull app Thanks for sharing
I've got a problem, when someone calls me, and my phone isn't in my pocket, but I'm not using it either, the screen turns on, so the phone goes vibrate mode, I don't know if can be fixed. Great app btw.

Damn! I never actually use my phone as a phone so that never crossed my mind. I'll look into it changing it, but right now the app simply works on whether the screen is lit up or not. Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for that, really hope you enhance this awesome app, it's really great.
Btw: you could made this an xposed module, to be less ram hungry.
New OP7, read about the "adaptive brightness" setting, but so far I find the phone way too bright compared with my previous one.
On the old phone I used to have "EasyEyes" installed to add that red filter, wondering if that's something that is no longer useful now (has that been incorporated in Android Pie?), or are you guys still using these types of programs?
Hoping to find the most restful setup for the eyes!

Night mode (red filter) is built into OOS under Display Settings.
Thanks for that — that's news to me.
In your opinion, does that work well? (Well enough to stop using something like EasyEyes?)

Thanks for replying, sorry but I didn't understand what you meant. Do you mean that everynight EasyEyes kicks off, or Night mode from OOS under Display Settings?
