Hello
How can I install a magic HTC:
-firmware 1.6 or 2.0
-ROM compatible
If you can, and some instructions
Thanks
Search. Why start a new thread. Dont be lazy
somebody send me a private message when there's a solution found for perfected SPL that doesn't require goldcard - because the goldcard guide doesn't work on my 2 memory cards >.<
check theunlockr.com - i followed the instructions there to flash my mt3g
i'd feel safer with a gold card though..

Hi All,
If I have a 750v that I already have unlocked to work with my o2 sim card - is it possible to completely remove the vodafone customised software and instead use the generic software from palm?
i.e. Palm have published an update for the treo - would I simply be able to use the generic upgrade tool to change the device to generic from the vodafone customisation?
Thanks!
You can actually.. ..it seems you're new to all this. I would suggest you to read the WiKi their you will find all the info about HardSPL en flashing ROM's using a PC or SD-Card.
Succes with your journey Their is plenty support here on XDA so it should be no problem what so ever!
Hi,
Yes still new to this all!
I had a read through most of the stuff (that's how I managed to get the phone to be unlocked!). But I'm still stumped on a couple of things:
1) Where would I get the generic update from - I can't download from palm as my serial number won't work for generic...
2) Do I have to do the update via mini sd? No cable option?
So all I basically have to do is:
1 - Hard SPL (done)
2 - get file - put on sd card and update that way?
I'm really batteling to get my head around this device - it was so easy with my k-jam!
Thanks again!
1. You can get some ROM's here in the TOM upgrade section. You won't be able to download from the official sites as most of them use a serial check to see if you're a genuine customer.
There have been only a few releases. The 6.1 works best for me.
2. You can also flash from a PC. When flashing from SD keep in mind that the file needs to be: CHEEIMG.nbh
Ok that is fine... So where would I find these rom's where is this 'TOM upgrade section'?
I'm feeling quite dumb asking these questions - I'm not usually this much of a n00b!
Here is a list of topics that contain ROM's
List of all known official WM6 releases
WM6 Normal Cooked
WM6 AKU7.0
WM6.1 WWE Lite > my personal favorite
I recommend this rom :

Hello.
I am Spanish and I want to have a firmware to take advantage of the future European Android Market.
I have the official firmware RC33 U.S., I will install the firmware JFv1.42 USA RC33.
Can I change it to JFv1.43 for UK RC9?.
Thank you.
Hi Kaka, I solved that yesterday - and even though I'm not a "hardcore-coder", it worked perfect for me!
- downgraded from original US RC33 to UK RC7 using QMAT and a HTC Gold Card (which cost me 20€ but were definitely worth it) as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=485364
- from there you can upgrade to the "european" version (original or rooted JF) - I sticked with the non-rooted version; the update came a few minutes after switching on the phone automatically and over-the-air (OTA)
Go for it! The instructions in the thread mentioned above are quite helpful ;-)
...happy me, as I got rid of that ridiculous MyFaves app.

Thanks for your information.
But I do not understand about "HTC Gold Card (which cost me € 20 but were definitely worth it)", I read your link and I do not understand your sentence.
Greetings.
I try to explain it simple (which might not be 100% accurate, but you will get the message): To downgrade from RC33, you will need a so-called HTC "gold card", which is a sd-card with a special image on it. This image works like a key: Without this image on the card, the G1 (which is made by HTC) will not accept the downgrade to an earlier version. If the sd card contains that "key", the phone will accept the downgrade.
To make a gold card yourself, you will need QMAT. This program will read your SD-cards serial number, then generate the Gold Card Image based on that serial number, and write that image back to your sd card. This is how you make a gold card. Only the registered version of QMAT will allow you to generate the Gold Card Image for the HTC Dream ("G1"). Registration is 20 Euros.
All described in the link mentioned above ;-)
Thank you very much for the explanation. Now I understand.
Greetings.
Just thought I would compile a list of useful stuff which took me ages to find:

Good work! Thank you very much.
This should be stickied thanks a lot.
Thank you for the info. just changed the forum from TYTN II as my sapphire arrived yesterday. Question: there seem to be signed ROMs around eg ION from Haykuro. Does it mean that I can install such a rom without prior rooting of the device and then would have an rooted device?
Thankx in advance.

You need the custom SPL (at the end of the the root process wiki)
however, I am not clear whether you can install the custom SPL without being root, so you therefore might need root anyhow

thank you very much! ...was just a bit worried to brick the device right out of box. As usual: no pain no gain.

you need to provide more information
firstly do you have a 32B or 32A board ? (see how to identify above)
if 32B, then just follow the rooting procedure, after which install the latest ION Google ROM

Another vote for stickiness power by mods
Nice collection of links there - however this info should be put in the Wiki so everyone can contribute and keep it up to date rather than linking to hundreds of different posts that slowly go out of date.
Start here:

I'm happy to help keep it up to date, just not got the time to collate it all atm.
+1 for the wiki. I requested one of the mods to make this page sticky but wiki's are better than lot's of fora/discussion pages for information gathering. Will definitely add stuff to the wiki!
I have only verified this on Indonesian HTC Magic (similar like India's airtel) comes with SPL 0010 Sign-On. Original source: http://bwicaksono.posterous.com/htc-magic-indonesia-can-now-be-rooted
The simple steps:
1. Ensure you have HTC Sync installed
2. Download: http://www.freewebtown.com/blipblap...a_WWE_2.53.707.2_SEA_test_signed_NoDriver.exe
3. Download: http://www.freewebtown.com/blipblap...WWE_2.16.707.3_SG_release_signed_NoDriver.exe
4. Run the ROM RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Asia_WWE_2.53.707.2_SEA_test_signed_NoDriver.exe and let it finished, reboot.
5. Run ROM: http://www.freewebtown.com/blipblap...WWE_2.16.707.3_SG_release_signed_NoDriver.exe, let it finished, reboot.
At the point number 5, you already have the SG ROM with market place, google etc. Plus the 0009 SPL - non perfected SPL.
I have tried it, and it works, now mine can get into Fastboot!
Lol man..this has been posted by ekidagen here..
in bwicaksono posterous, he quotes mine...and the source is here at xda...
Hit Me up at Yahoo.., lesjaw..lets talk about Rom..Yihaaaaa....
lol, nice try sevenfire. Next time use the "search" function first.
Sorry then .
back to SPL 0010
can u tell me how to get back to SPL 0010
Hello guys i have a problem with my HTC HD7...i install the 8112 update then 8773 with languages ( from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27960331&postcount=929 ) but without a backup ... "C:/ no space" and all goes right.. but when the phone was on the start screen and go to settings: "wifi, emails+accounts, messaging, about phone" - doesn't work
I tried to install O2-DE ROM's ( from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1000467 ) and i get the [226] error - flash write , i tried to install a DFT ROM but SPL-5x.. and doesn't support it... please guys i am new in ROM's and stuff's and i am really desperate and don't know what to do to fix my phone.. if you can send me a good custom ROM or someone who fixed the [266] error please help.. and just in case if someone has a mango BACKUP and it can be send... via link that would be awesome
Thanx
Sorry for bad english.
Why did you start a new thread for this? This should be part of the CAB Update thread.
Your problem is very obvious if you just read the instructions for CAB updating. You needed to send the language packs along with your OS update. Language packs are in their own CAB files, but can be sent at the same time as the update CAB. There are instructions for figuring out which ones you need to send.
You're messing with things here that can really screw up your phone, much worse than it is now. *ALWAYS* read the instructions first. Read what problems others have had, and how they fixed them. Follow the steps, don't cut corners.
That said, if you really want to install a custom ROM, this is possible. You'll need a GoldCard, which is to say a USB Mass Storage device like a SD card or a flashdrive with a special file on it, plus some way to connect it directly to your phone and power the device at the same time (typically a USB Y-cable). There are full instructions, with links to parts and pictures of how to set it up, available on this forum. That will let you downgrade your bootloader version so you can install HSPL.
Phone status: Updated
Problem solved, finally i upgraded my HTC HD7 to 8773 by reinstall the 8112, 8773 again +languages and it worked
-So for those who think that their phones are lost (Walshed) repeat this step 1-2 times
