Orbit and using Co Pilot

Hi there,
Bit of a newbie here! I've just ordered an Orbit with Co Pilot, and was just wondering - is there a cost for actually using Co Pilot? I mean, will I get charged for using the phones GPS?
Any help would be great!
Thanks
Marty.
No, GPS is a free service, it has nothing to do with your call charge, message, wap, GPRS or etc. Its completely free. Yes you might have to pay a subscription fees to the CoPilot to use their traffic or weather services if they are offering, I am not sure which services they are offering as I am using TomTom, you can also use any other navigation software e.g. TomTom etc. on your device, you have to just configure the GPS device with the software settings. Try some info about the GPS usage on Google.

I would imagine if it's like the T Mobile phone+co pilot packs you'll get a 24 month subscription to their live service, which is a tracking service so you can logon to a website to see where someone is, obviously only as long as you give them access to that, and also a traffic updates which when you plan a route it looks up on gprs to see if there's any reported incidents, and then suggests an alternative route - it works quite well!

WM6 VPN Program

I had used Bluefire Security VPN with WM5.0 and it worked great, they don't have a release for WM6 and
was curious if anyone else knew any good mobile VPN programs?
I'm at Texas A&M and they require a VPN to use the wireless on campus. I'm going to try the wm5.0 one and see if it works. They give a 2 week free trial and I can just keep re-flashing the rom and installing the trial every 2 weeks. Hopefully it will work, they email you the link to download it. If it works I'll post it on here for others to use.
If the software works, don't keep re-flashing yur ROM bloody pay for it! $79 is not that expensive if its a usefull piece of kit for you!

Dear kenny james,
Thank you for your interest in the Bluefire Mobile Security VPN software. Please see links below, which contain the software, user guide and release notes for the Bluefire Mobile Security VPN software.
The evaluation period is 14 days, after which time the trial version will expire. At that time you may remove the application from your device or purchase the software from Bluefire's website.

Finance Software

Hi folks, I've been using Microsoft Money 2005 for a long time now. I just thought that maybe there is more up to date software so was looking about... then I was wondering, is there one that will sync with my XDA so if I'm out shopping, wondering if I really can afford that new gadget, I open it up on my Touch HD and check my forecasted cash etc...
Anyone know if this is possible? I think I've seen MS Money is available on the XDA, does it sync? Do you have to buy both bits of software? (PC and XDA?)
Thanks for any help.
This is probably not what you want but when you stated Finance Software - I immediately thought of SPB Finance (Which I bought but haven't started using yet) or free ones like Pocket Finance diary Lite (which I've never tried).
If these are the kinds of things you are considering I recommend trying the demo of the SPB one.
(SPB currently have a 30% off deal on all products until Dec 30 2008..)
Ahh, this bit interests me -
"Do you use Microsoft Money or Quicken at your desktop? Spb Finance has special features for synchronization with these products."
I'll check it out, thanks.

Theft detection software with GPS

So far I've found three programs that will detect an authorized SIM card, send an SMS to a specified number, along with GPS coordinates. These are:
Mobile Justice
Ultimate Theft Alert
and W.I.M.P.
What would you guys recommend? I'll be getting the Touch Cruise soon, if that helps.
Thanks in advance.
Try remote tracker
Sprite Terminator?
What's the latest and greatest FREE app for theft recovery?
At this point I am looking for WinMo 6.5
I cannot seem to find WIMP (Where is my Phone) anymore with a current version?
http://www.mylookout.com looks cool.
If I wanted to pay, I would get the McAfee WaveSecure.
I like the idea of someone putting in their SIM card and SMSing their number etc to a friend of mine.
And turning on GPS itself to help track it.
THANKS!
TheftAware
For Android, TheftAware offers a comprehensive solution.
I believe that it meets all your requests, and on rooted devices, it can install itself into the system area, so it is not as easily detected and removed.
With this product, you do get what you pay for.
