Hello everyone, well here is the thing im in Mexico City right now and looks like im going to be here for some time.
So now here are the problems i have with TELCEL
The day i added the SIM Card to my phone the 3G worked just fine all i needed was 2USD on Credit to get Internet.
But i used my 2USD on 2 calls and well it said that i needed to add more credit.
I added 10USD but now IE is just saying "Cant display the web page , cant find DNS server"
i called the crappy Telcel support ( and waited for like 1hr no kidding) just get this crappy answer "Sorry we dont have the configuration settings for your phone , in the call center we dont have information about newer phones only old onces"
I checked the Telcel Website and well they have the HTC Diamond on sell with the "Friend" (Amigo) pre-paid service, so they do have Windows Phones in here and the Touch Pro is the same as Diamond so i went to the Service Center and i showed them and explained but they were just jerks saying "If Telcel dosnt sell it even if its the same WE WONT HELP YOU"
i already did google's about all this i got the internet.itelcel.com crap but i still dont get the F. DNS settings.
i cant use Skype or Fring or opera or anything i even tryed with my own Proxy Server but nothing.
Also i cant send the F. SMS to number 500 with TODAS because for some wierd reason i cant send SMS in here.
Im using the newest TAEL ROM 6.5 and i changed radios like crazy, nothing works no MMS,SMS , WAP, GPRS, 3G.
i hope someone here can help me out... im hateing this TELCEL stuff but well theres no other company with 3G for GSM devices in here.
The MovileStart or whatever it is is just GPRS or so they said.
They should change the name from Telcel to FrustrationCEL
If someone can help me with the DNS Servers or something to send the SMS
Please help!!!!!!!!

Hope I Can Help!
Hi SAT117! Hope you are doing ok. I am from Mexico and I am using the Telcel carrier also, I recommend it better that the Movistar network.
Well, I also have a Fuze since last year and its working like a charm.
Here are the things that I had to do so I could use AT&T Fuze on Telcel.
First get rid of the MEdia net connections, delete them.
Then on Settings/Connections add a new one called Telcel Internet.
Select Cellular Line (GPRS,3G)
Access Point Name: internet.itelcel.com
Username: webgprs
Password: webgprs2002
Then press Finish.
You have made the internet connection.
Now you have to get rid of the AT&T Proxy. Go to START/PROGRAMS/TOOLS/PROXY MANAGER and then DISABLE PROXY.
(In case you have another ROM other than the AT&T original one, then you should be up and running with the Internet connection)
If you need MMS, WAP or other configurations let me know.
Hope you get it runnin'.
well still no go it connects it shows H and it shows that is connected, and i still cant get the phone to show the "you are out of credit or something like that"
i cant use internet at all on the phone unless is over activesync or wifi
step by step help
hummm what a strange case ive been flashing a whole bunch of roms and radios to a whole bunch of touch pros and it never has happened anything like that to me so lets go through some possible things you havent done yet
first you are a senior member so im assuming you know all the details about flashing this and that yara yara ok so how about if before we go any further you try a different rom let's say an energy one since those are the most popular try this one EnergyROM_21885_RAPHAEL_24.Dec.2009_Standard if you are using tael's it's probably cuz you are looking for speed and stability i think this one should match what you are looking for ok still no luck?
ok theres a cab that gets you going with al Frustel's lol! configs http://rapidshare.com/files/43254754/Telcel_Mexico_PPC.CAB still no luck?
ok flash this radio (one of the best in my opinion)
RUU_Raphael_Radio_Raphael_52.58.25.30_1.11.25.01_Ship
"google it" nothing?
ok try manually to set up the internet config it is as simple as
internet.itelcel.com then webgprs and right below webgprs2002 that should do (i think by now you know where that stuff goes)
if failed call asterisk 264 talk to someone tell em you have the diamond and you just purchased this gsm chip "i think" and that you want to use the internet ask em if you have to activate the amigo internet service with them and ask what are the fees they charge
make sure you have enough credit to surf the internet you can check that by dialing asterisk 133 it pops up a message telling you your available money hummmm let me see i think that's pretty much it oh if it is possible for you ask a friend of yours or someone you know if they could let you borrow their sim card just to check if you can connect with their sim (if you do i guess u ll have to pay em like 10 pesos lol!) just to check if it could be a sim thing i hope you have luck finding a final solution for that by the way im not a movistar user but they do have 3g in Mexico city as far as i know if you need any other help with your phone while you stay in Mexico feel free to contact me via messenger [email protected] i owe xda-developers so much i cant stand and do nothing while one of my buddies from xda is stuck with something in my country. peace... JC.

Hi everyone
I just recently bought an o2 XDA mini S and I just can not seem to get it to connect to the internet or check my pop3 email.
Keeps coming back with the following error message:
Cannot Connect
Dialed: mobile.o2.co.uk
No Modem at above number. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Settings.
I have triple checked all the settings which were emailed to me by o2 - WAP, GPRS and MMS settings and all seem to have been entered correctly but dont work.
If anyone can help me Id be very greatful...Ive tried everything I can think of but am not getting anywhere with this
Thank you in advance
This is the gprs settings I use and it works
O2 GPRS settings (Email/Web):
Homepage: http://pda.o2.co.uk/
APN address: mobile.o2.co.uk
Username: mobileweb
Password: password
Email servers (POP): mail.o2.co.uk
Email servers (SMTP): smtp.o2.co.uk
Note: The "Mobile Web" service must be enabled for these settings to work.
* We've also been told of an alternative username of 'faster', with a password of 'password'
under connections\settings\my isp\manage existing connections make sure when it says select a modem - have cellular line (gprs) selected. And make sure O2 have mobileweb enabled at their end for your account. Their no is 202.
Next time better to post in wizard forum - you will get more responses.
I'll keep an eye on this post in case U need more help.
Hi Cath
Just try removing the SIM card wiping on something soft and all should work (but as above you must be on the correct tariff)
OK i have a 750v from the UK and i use it with the Vodafone contract i got it with. I unlocked it so i can use it back home here in Cyprus when im here for the holidays etc but for some reason i cant get internet or MMS to work. I had found the settings off the Cytamobile-Vodafone (my phone provider, Cytamobile is owned by Vodafone now) website but they dont work.
So i called them (a few times) and they said they cant help me and the only thing they can do is send me a document with the settings written so that i can put them myself... I tried to several times but still nothing! The weird thing is that if i keep my Vodafone UK internet settings it works but i'm not sure if im going to be paying loads extra or not with those settings. MMS dont work either way.
--------------------------------------------------------
This is the: "Basic settings for WAP over GPRS" that i was sent

And they also sent me these settings for MMS

Access Point name : cytamobile
User name : user
Password : pass
Authentication : normal
Gate Way IP address : 212.031.096.161
Homepage : http://mmsc.cyta.com.cy
Connection security : off
----------------------------------------------------
The voda UK settings for Internet (the ones in "My ISP") are:
Access point name: internet
username : web
Password : web
Oh also when i change the APN from "cytamobile" which i was given, to the Vodafone UK APN which is "internet" but i keep the Cyta-Voda username and password, internet still works. Im really confused.
Can some knowledgeable expert help me figure this out? Thanks and sorry for the huge post!
Try to hard-reset first, make sure everything are clean up.
And then, repeat your setting at menu
1. Setting - Connections
2. Manage Existing Connection - Click "NEW" and follow step-by-step (dont forget chooce Mode as Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G).
3. done
I already did a hard reset a few times and entered the settings and all but still nothing...
First off let me say ive searched this site high and low and tried almost every .cab ive found and followed plenty of setup instructions but still for the life of me cannot get MMS to work. email i get no problems sending texts i get no problems. but no MMS , and i think ive tried everything on this site.... im running Farias WM6 rom , and love it.
I had MMS working on the phone before i had to reflash beacuse i updated a radio rom and it almost bricked it.... so i followed all the instructions again just like usual and reflashed the downgrade rom and then upgraded to farias. I just dont remember what it was i did to get MMS working before
If someone could help me out it would be much appreciated.....
Maybe we could start a sticky entitled " How to get your MMS back after flashing "
Thanks in advance guys.

Yea , no MMS at all......
cant recieve or send.....
I had it working on the Faria rom before i had to reflash.....
all i keep getting is " error syncronizing " everytime i try to hit " send/recieve"
I had the same issue, go under the MMS settings, then goto server, select Cingular MMS or whoever your carrier is, mine wascingular, and then set it to the default and delete the one named default
If there is not other one besides deafault, then you need to ask your provider for your settings and add it.
hope this helps
This might be helpful to others , but i tried it still no worky for me.

Ah! This sorta illustrates the problem. I had mentioned that I couldn't seem to send MMS, although I *could* browse the web via GPRS.
Well...I spent some time on the phone with T-Mobile "PDA Support" and finally have this figured out! There's been talk here about using the two different APN's available to T-Mobile Internet customers for WAP and MMS versus regular website browsing.
When I spoke with T-Mobile PDA Support, I was told a few things:
1) they've had some network problems that aren't 100% resolved that could be messing up our ability to browse the net, consistently get EDGE speeds, or send MMS messages.
2) MMS is supposed to be sent over their WAP gateway, so for this, you should use "wap.voicestream.com" as your APN.
3) Web browsing for full HTML web pages is supposed to be done over their non-protocol-restricted internet gateway, so for this, you should specify "internet2.voicestream.com" as the APN.
I did some experimenting, and it seems that I cannot send MMS when I connect via "internet2.voicestream.com", and I cannot browse the web when I connect via "wap.voicestream.com". But, as the gentleman from T-Mobile PDA Support suggested, when I chose the APN appropriate to the task, I succeeded. I tried this several times with consistent results.
I think I saw some discussion here about manually selecting the GPRS connection each time so you get the right gateway. But with a bit of configuration work up front, you can make this work automatically. Here's how:
The essence of the solution is that you should have TWO different connection setting groups - one for Internet Browsing and email, and one for MMS. Then, you can have the first one automatically invoked when your application tries to connect to the Internet, and you can have the MMS application automatically select the second connection group when it's trying to send an MMS message.
So -- Most, if not all, of you have a connection group named "T-Mobile GPRS". To examine it, click on:
Start / Settings / Connections and then tap the Connections icon. With the Tasks tab selected, you should see two connection groups listed, along with three choices under each one for tasks you can perform.
Under the connection group named "T-Mobile GPRS", click "Manage existing connections" -- you should be on the "Modem" tab -- if not, select it now.
This page shows a table in which you can list various network connections that this connection group can use to send and receive data. Since it seems that the three APNs that we know about are special purpose (one for WAP/MMS, one for Internet, one for VPN), it does NOT make sense to mix them here and let WM5 try to figure out which is best to use -- you will wind up with inconsistent results (i.e., works sometimes, but not others, seemingly at random).
Instead, since this "T-Mobile GPRS" connection group is for Internet browsing, the one and only connection you want to specify here is one that will use the "internet2" APN.
But first, click on the "Proxy Settings" tab below, and just click the box labeled, "This network connects to the Internet", and make sure the other boxes on the pages are blank (no proxy server specified here!). When you're done, select the "Modem" tab again (you might have to minimize the keyboard display at the bottom to see the tabs).
If you don't have a data connection yet that uses the internet2 APN, you can click on "New", then give it a descriptive name (such as "Internet connection"), select "Cellular Line (GPRS)" as the modem, click "Next", and input "internet2.voicestream.com" as the APN, click "Next" again, leave the user name, password and domain all blank and click "finish".
Click "ok" at the top a couple of times and you should be done with the connection group that gets you to the Internet.
Now - we'll create a separate connection group for MMS:
Go back into "Start / Settings / Connections" and tap the "Connections" icon again. You're back at the "Connections" screen that lists your two most recently defined "connection groups" -- the top one should be "T-Mobile GPRS" since we just worked on it. Click on "Add a new modem connection". Even though this line appears under "T-Mobile GPRS", you'll actually be creating a new and separate connection group.
You'll see a screen entitled, "Make a New Connection". Give it a meaningful name -- I chose "WAP connection". Select "Cellular Line (GPRS)" as the modem, and click "Next". This time, under Access Point Name, specify "wap.voicestream.com". Click next and make sure on the "My Connection" screen that user, password and domain are blank, then click "Finish".
You will now have separate connection groups for Internet Access and for MMS tranmission.
The next step is what makes this work automatically. Close all the windows until you're at the "today" screen again. Click "Start" and then "Messaging". If you don't see "MMS" at the top left of the screen, click the "Menu" button at the lower right, click on "Switch Accounts" and select "MMS".
Click "Menu" again, and then click "MMS Configuration...". You'll see three tabs: "Preferences", "Servers" and "About".
The preferences tab has non-critical choices that you should set to meet your own needs.
On the Servers tab, you should see a single server listed, "T-Mobile MMS" -- this was installed by one of the T-Mobile customizations when you first booted up your MDA. Click on this , and you'll see a screen that details the configurat ion of this server. Here's what you want in the config:
Server Name: non-critical, T-Mobile named it, "T-Mobile MMS", so you should probably leave it at that.
Gateway: 216.155.165.50
Port Number: 8080
Server address: http://215.155.174.84/servlets/mms
...and HERE is where we tell it to automatically switch to our network connection that was set up for MMS:
Where it says, "Connect via:", the default that T-Mobile put in was your old "T-Mobile GPRS" connection. Instead, I clicked the drop-down arrow and selected the new connection that we created way up above that references the "wap.voicestream.com" APN, called something like "MMS Connection".
Sending size limitation as locked at 292k. WAP Version defaults to 2.0, but you can drop it down to 1.2 if you have some reason to do this (I don't).
Once this is all set right, click "OK", and "ok" your way back out of the messaging application.
Now you're ready for a test:
There are many way to initiate an MMS. However you do it, when it starts up, you should see it connecting to GPRS via your "MMS Connection", it will then send your MMS and disconnect from GPRS again after a bit.
Open up PIE again and select a website, and this time you'll see GPRS connecting via your first connection group -- the one that uses "internet2.voicestream.com" as the APN.
You can go back and forth several times -- this setup will select the correct network connection group each time, and work.
The ONLY issue I've seen with this is the following:
If your GPRS connection for one type of activity is still connected when you try launching the other service, it doesn't seem smart enough to force the old connection to disconnect first. So...if your old connection hasn't time out yet, you may have to click on the "G" icon (top of your today screen) and select "disconnect" before starting your other activity. But that's it -- aside from this, all the APN switching is automatic -- and works perfectly.

i dont know what the hell i did , but its sending messages now.........
still havent recieved one tho.
i think im gonna have to do a writeup tho.
Do you use wifi? When wifi is on my MMS doesn't work.
Did you ever figure out what was happening. I'm having a similar problem. As far as I can tell all the setting you listed above are correct, and I have mine set the same. When I try to send a message it hangs at 87% and never completes. Once it ran up to 99% then I got the "Gateway Timeout" error.
What version of the ARCSoft MMS client are you using?
I cannot get it to send or connect at all unless I use one of the CABs for the settings floating around - then it works, but that causes other NASTY side effects on WM6.
Just the one that came with the rom that I loaded, [02/Nov/2007] TNT.1933, ArcSoft 4.2.8.1 with plug-in and full features. The settings seem to connect, the message just won't complete sending.
I'm not able to get it to connect unless I use the T-Mobile CAB (manually configuring does NOT work) and that breaks data connections when on sync.
Hi to ALL,
I got a Treo 750 AT&T from a friend who got back from the U.S...Am now in the Philippines and am using a local network (SMART). I am having a problem however in sending MMS files. everytime i try, there is a prompt which says, "connecting to AT&T...GPRS and 3G... and then the MMS stays in the outbox folder..this happens everytime i try to send an MMS. It won't access to the Internet explorer either...the only thuing I can use is sending text messages...the rest of the functions won't work. I am confused now as to how am I gonna use my treo phone to its maximum features.. I hope somenoe can help me on this...
Thank you.
It seems your phone is trying to access Internet using connection settings for previous US operator. Did you make all the settings for your local network (Start > Settings > Connections > etc.)?
a guide how to do it
1. Start, Settings, Connections, and then tap the Connections Icon
2. Under "My Work Network" tap Add a New Modem Connection
3. Name it Picture Messaging and under Select a modem select (GPRS,3G)
4. Under Access Point Name type: ____________ (ask your cell company)
5. Username, Password, and Domain is left blank and then click Finish
6. Now, go into Proxy Settings and check "This network connects to the Internet" and check "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet"
7. Under the Proxy Server box type: _________ (ask your cell company)
8. Tap the advanced button and tap on the HTTP line. Make sure the HTTP settings shows __________ (ask your cell company)
9. Click the OK button a few times to get out of the settings completely.
10.Now go to Start, Messaging, Menu, then Options, Advance, then Click Manual, and then the Edit button
11. Message center number _________ (ask your cell company)
12. Email center number is _____ (ask your cell company)
13. MMS gateway address is ___________ (ask your cell company)
14. MMS URL is http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/servlets/mms (ask your cell company)
15. Finally under Network Profile select: My Work Network and then click ok.
Thank you very much for sending me this procedure to correct the setting of my mobile phone. I will coordinate with my Local network here in the Phils. to supply the needed settings.
Best regards,
Abrille
Dear All,
I have followed the instructions that you have given to me but still I couldn't access and/or browse the internet as well as receiving MMS format files. I tried to access and view some threads and I happened to see an email thread that gives an instruction on how to Re-flash/Unbrand a Palm Treo 750... I would like to ask your expertise Sirs if this is the next possible way or solution to solve the problem with my Treo 750? I hope someone can help me on this...thank you and more power to all.
Abrille
To access internet via Internet Explorer, you need the correct GPRS/WAP settings to tell it to use the right APN.
Try the settings listed here:
http://smart.com.ph/corporate/support/FAQs/GPRS+and+MMS+settings.htm
To set up a new GPRS connection profile use this:

Hello guys,
I have a problem in sending mms.after so many trying i used the Connection Setup (HTC App) and nothing changes... is there any way to config the mms setting manually? Is there any chance to cook a rom for manually mms settings or write a program to change it manually?
Under settings did you enable the use of MMS messaging?
what do u mean? can you explain more?
ask you carrier about the APN settings, this setting you just type in the settings>carrier settings (there where your data connection is) and at the bootom tap on the APN... there you should have some empty fields or if their not empty its because of the connection setup, but maybe connection setup has input wrong apn or proxyserver or port... just ask your service provider for apn settings for MMS. and at the end enable data connection because thats the only way to receive or send mms.
I did that but nothing happen and the problem still remains.
in the apn setting for windows phone some fields like "Name" , "Server" , "MMSC" and so on are gone...
may i ask which phone do you have, maybe your carrier have post a app in marketplace to set mms setting automatically , I use Samsung tools to set adc flag to make mms
work on my omnia 7,there is also an app in marketplace named network profile could do that, now i can use my lumia 800 send/receive mms without any setting.....
HTC Mozart
I'm after a way to config the mms manually ... I tried other ways

i can help you a little bit and say that not all field must be filled. my device has only APN, Proxyserver/URL, Proxyport filled. no username nothing. that's maybe to the carrier, just get the settings of your carrier, every carrier has that on its site under "manually configure mms" ili mms/internet... get me this info and i say you where to insert which and which ones are really needed.
try this way if you dont know this settings for now:
APN: mms."name of the carrier"."code of your land" (.com, .de, .gb, .cc...)
Proxyserver/URl: mms."name of the carrier"."code of your land" (as above...) /cmmsc/post
proxyport (try): 80 (or empty field if not working with 80) and at last point turn ON you data connection and try to send/receive mms. this codes for the server (mms. "...".com ... or other are simmilar on many places in the world. also for the "/cmmsc/post" that i simmilar to many carriers. just try if if you dont get your info from you carrier.
please explain more

did you try the proxy without "http://" "just 192.168.193.134", next try without any port number. and if that not work, contact you carrier and ask if windows phone is supported and which data you must input for mms. do you have a website of your carrier? i'll ask them for you

Yes I tried that but nothing happened.I called the carrier and ask them if they can fix this and they said they have no idea about the problem
after a few days trying they said this is a problem from windows phone that don't let the customer set APN manually for MMS
Now I'm after MFG code for windows phone (HTC 7 Mozart) to access the factory menu and can change the mms configuration manually

No they're right, the APN setting you talk about is Celluar APN and not about MMS.
The MMS do not need internet or celluar connection to send, i's like SMS.
the news said that in windows phone 8 we have the ability to set APN manually. in windows phone 7 it's automatic with sim card and the applications like Connection Setup or Network Setup are for reseting the configurations.
in LG windows phones by typing ##63# you reach the Factory Menu to set these configs manually but it seems HTC doesn't have one

i now that on our wp7 today, and since 2010 till today, there is no ways of sending an MMS with data connection off. because MMS is not the same like sms. it is in the same messaging hub but not the same, you have a facbook chat and an windows live messenger in you messaging hub on our wp7 and it looks similar to sms, but it is not similar. the mms uses an other method how the "files" come from the server to you phone, and the server treats MMS an other way and not like sms. believe me. or just google "MMS" and if it would be a fault to wp7 just contact them that they solve it, but i know what they say: "it is related to the carrier and not to us"
the MMS comes to your phone in the same way like sms, and the server where your message land before your phone checks if you have an data connection with which you receive data within the MMS. with the difference to sms where the server dont check if you have an data connection, because your number is tied to a GSM and that enough for sending sms, but not MMS. and if you have data connection the server forwards the data within the mms to you, if you dont have data connection (not wifi) you get an sms (something like an mms deliver notification) but that far away from mms.
