change default number - Touch Diamond2, Pure Themes and Apps

Hi
how can I change default number for a contact?
for example tochflo only use mobile number to send sms and I want to use work number as default
tnx

no solution?

I do remember that when adding contacts to the 15 under People tab, you were able to select which number to display as the primary number. Maybe remove the contact, then re-add them?

this is just for people you add in the people tab
what about the others?

If you select a contact that is not in your contacts tab, it gives you all numbers to choose from. There is no default number.

I get it now. Start -> all programs -> contacts.
In there, it lists a number to go with the contact.
You wish to change this number yes?

I want to change the number that touchflo sms manager or whatever it is uses to send sms.

Not sure I fully understand the problem, BUT:
If you go to the Message tab, and start a new message, as you type in the Contact's name you can choose whichever number you have stored for them as the number to use. I just sent myself a test text, to my landline, using this method - it was pretty easy, and didn't require me to change any details about myself.
Hope this helps.

Adding number from Call History to existing Contacts

hi
I want to add a number from Call History to one of my existing contacts (i.e, add to home telephone of an existing contact)
However, when hold and tap number in Call History, it open a new contact instead of letting us choose an existing contact
Any program that can let us do that
My device is O2 XDA IIi
Thanks
Tuan
There isn't any way around this, though maybe there will be in WM2005 or through a third party program.
It's something that annoys me, too. The way round it is to get it up as a New contact, then copy the number and cancel saving the contact, go to the correct contact and add it that way.
Bit long winded, but other than writing it down by hand or remembering it I don't think there's any other way.
Cheers
Ant
Hey Guys..
Simple trick....
Tap and hold the number in the call history
Then select option "Send Text Message"
Then copy/cut that Number and paste in the contacts
Then cancel the message
I hope, this sounds OK

Contacts tweak in TF3D?

Is there any way to switch the default method of sorting your top 15 contacts from alphabetically to an order in which you choose? The two people I call the most start with a high letter and it's really annoying have to scroll to find them. I much prefer the way contacts show up as multiple icons in the Manila 2D (or whatever it was called) version that I had on my Tilt
Thre things you might try:
1. You can put them on one of the speed dial buttons.
2. Or you can put an 'A" or "1" in front of their last names to make them sort to the top.
3. Or you can use photo contacts to dial by their picture.

If you do the above and sync to your desktop, your contact will not sort properly there where you probably do expect to see them in alpha order.

Speed Dial? I've missed that some where. How do you add people to speed dial?
just tried it - speed dials do not change the order
anyone solve this?
Why not put them in the "People" section?
I have about 10 contacts in there which I use regulary with specific numbers (i.e. text, work number etc) but you can open the contact to find other numbers.
Hope this helps?

I believe this is what he is referring to. He wants to be able to sort the 'People' tab in TF3D to his own liking. I was also wondering if this was possible earlier today when I had to flip through 8 contacts to get to the person I call most. Haha.

Not all contact numbers are shown

I have multiple phone number like home, mobile, Work etc etc for a contact. When I click edit I see all of them but when I view to call a number I see only one number. How can I make to see all the phone numbers.
Thanks in advance!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
click the name and it will list the numbers to call, if you swype the name it will call the default number, which you can set in the edit contacts menu.

Multiple Contact numbers

So im having an issue, when i type a contacts name in SMS, it brings up all their numbers, home, work, mobile
Is there a fix for this??
Cheers,
I donĀ“t think so. A workaround is create a contact to each number. Like steve mobile, steve home, and so on.
Try setting the number you want as the person's default contact number. That might help. Otherwise, you can just type in the first few digits of the number and it'll figure out the rest for you.
Thanks,
I like to have all my contacts with their numbers consolidated, but it looks like a google bug (coming from a Desire HD) im pretty sure HTC sense never displayed home or work numbers :S
Ohwell i will deal with it.. for now..
cheers
Some SMS apps (such as Go SMS or HandCent) have a tick box option in the settings to 'show mobile numbers only'.

New contact question

Is there an easy way to add a new contact from a txt? What I mean is, say you get a txt from someone not in your contacts. Instead of their name, their number shows up. Is there a way to make a new contact with them without have to write the number down and adding it manually?

don't think so...you have to copy it and then paste into the dialer and then save to contacts
When your in the txt message, press menu key and then you'll get the option add to person, and then make a new contact with that number. That is how it works with mine so it should work on yours to.
short press on the message from the number that isn't in your contacts, then select add contact.
