HTC Wing - WiFi issues - General Questions and Answers

Anyone know how to keep the phone on wifi? Keeps on forgetting my network and goes to cell network. How to have this thing automatically detect and connect to my home WiFi? Thanks...

Automatically Connecting to Wi-Fi

I recently ended my data connection on my HTC Fuze and I was wondering if there was something I could do or something that I could download so that it automatically tries to connect to the Wi-Fi instead of the 3G network?
u can go into ur connection manager and turn 3g and data off. while at it, enable wifi....

Well I know that... But you know how when you click on the weather tab without turning on the 3G or Wi-Fi, it automatically tries to connect to the 3G. How do I get it so that it does the same but with the Wi-Fi?

Connect ONLY to wifi when one is available app

Is there such app?
or perhaps something that prevents the phone from disconecting from a wifi conection when it goes to sleep?/
or one that prevents the phone to go sleep while conected to a wifi?
The thing is, my plan is not unlimited and i dont want to use 3G if a wifi connection is available and connecting each time is a pain.
At some point Froyo was doing this (conecting automatically, almost instantl to my home wifi when i opened browser for instance) but not anymore.
cheers

Problems with WiFi?

Is anyone else experiencing issues with this phone not always connecting to remembered wireless networks? When I'm at work I use the AT&T network through PSU and previous phones would always connect to them whenever in range. This phone shows that it sees the network signal but doesnt auto connect, I have to turn off and on wifi. Am I the only one?
I've had this problem a few times already.
Will keep an eye on it.
I have had problems only on 5GHz networks. 2.4GHz networks are fine for me.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App
I'm also seeing that it's actually connected - showing good signal strength but when I try to access the internet on any app it time out.
I've had the same problems. It will see my network but not auto connect. Then when I tell it to connect it acts as if it doesnt know the password. If I turn wifi on and off, it then connects fine on its own.

Wi-Fi connecting to wrong network

Hi everyone,
Ever since installing the OTA Android 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0 update on my Desire S, I've been having problems with the Wi-Fi. When I'm at home, my phone keeps connecting to a BT Openzone network nearby, and I have to manually choose my home Wi-Fi. I could understand this if the BT connection had a better signal, but it only has 1 bar compared to 5 from my router. I constantly tell it to forget the BT network, but the next time I turn Wi-Fi on, it connects to it again.
Is there any way to permanently forget a Wi-Fi network, or to tell the phone to default to my home connection?
Thanks.

WiFi won't disconnect when out of range

Hi all,
I have HTC One S from T-Mobile and noticed a big problem with my WiFi connection.
My phone will connect automatically to the wifi network in my home/work correctly, but when I leave and am clearly out of range of my wifi network (say, a km away), the phone still claims to be connected to the network, but I of course have no actual connectivity. The signal strength it reports has varied, from full strength to just a few bars.
I try giving it a minute, but it seems stuck and refuses to officially disconnect from the network. The only way to fix things is to toggle my wifi on and off, at which point it goes to mobile data since it can't find any wifi networks to connect to.
The thing is that I use Wireless Bluetooth headphones and since I started using my new phone, the signal drops (I believe it is because of the Wi-Fi not disconnecting from the network and is causing disruptions to the bluetooth connection).
Any ideas how to resolve this issue? Thanks.
