You could download EZinput keyboards, HTC Diamond has 1.5(I think), while there are 2.1 versions on xda here, although unstable so I do recommend a backup.

Hi,
as a visually impaired person I always tended to use phones with a hardware numpad or keyboard. but the diamond pro is a real brick and I'd like to use the diamond 2 much more. but the keyboard app and dialer are very hard to handle for me. what I am looking for are replacements with (customizable) bigger fonts or at least a white on black theme for better contrast. anyone can help?

For the keyboard I would suggest TouchPal by far the best keyboard out there.
looks pretty nice. although the qwerty-style keyboard is a little tiny i would love to use the phonepad style. this could really help me out.
if someone could lead me to a working white on black theme for the htc dialer (or alternative) all would be fine. I tried one, but it didn't work (guess it depends on manila version).
It has a two button mode as well as a phone pad option. I've used this keyboard for over a year now and can type faster than my wife can with her Blackberry.

It can eaislybe customized and the keyboard layout is available in many different languages.
the darker themes from the demo look very promising for me. I think i'll give it a try, too. thanks for the hint.

Iv looked everywhere for a simple cab to install the stock HTC Keyboard from the Touch HD2 to my Touch HD.
Can someone point me in the right direction? Iv searched around and i cant find a simple cab to port it to the Touch HD.

I think EzInput will work for you. It's not quite the HD2 keyboard but almost.

I love the SlideIt keyboard but it looks too much like the old windows mobile.
It would be great if someone could make a skin that looked/felt a bit
more like htc sense or the great dusk theme for Swype.

You could PM of some of the devs who are creating themes.

I just noticed that SlideIT v2.01 is now in the Market and is sporting a newer spanglier skin, and has native res on my Nexus One.
I really like its correction banner better than Swype's pop-up.
I don't think SlideIT handles punctuation and symbols as well as Swype, but it is tough to choose between them (SlideIT's correction banner may just clinch it for me since overall it could enable me to input quicker ...)
Slidit not recognising mail contacts
I been using slidit for a week and Works great on my TP2, but noticed an issue, when sending mail it ignores the intuitive contact list that appears when you input the first letters of the name and brings up the contacts mail that match, I have to switch between the full cuerty and it works then back to slideit, not a big problem but annoying.
I’m including the SlidIT demo cab if anyone wants to try it

I'm about to order an Xperia X10, but i really hate using software keyboards (QWERTY).
Is there any way i can install/replace the QWERTY keyboard with a T9-keypad type input method like the one on my HTC Touch HD?

Better Keyboard has a compact qwerty, and i`m pretty sure a T9 style as well. You might want to check out the leaked WVGA HTC_IME, it is considered by many to be the best soft keyboard available on android.
i found the HTC IME, it looks great. I havent recieved my phone yet, i'm wondering if its as easy to replace the IME on android as it is on Windows Mobile. I.E. will it feel hacked on or "native"? thanks
Changing input methods is supported natively.
I have pretty fat fingers an the standard qwerty keyboard just doesnt work with my hands. I just upgraded from Skyraider 3.5 to 4.0 and all but just having the single keyboard I love it. I have become acustomed to the Compact Qwerty keyboard that was included in SR 3.5 and have seared a many keyboards on the market to no avail at matching one. Is there anyway to get the SR 3.5 compact qwerty keyboard onto the SR 4.0 rom ?
If you go into the development part of the forums and look under skyraider there is an addon for the htc keyboard. I installed it with my skyraider 4.2 and I have the compact qwerty keyboard back. It works great.
