hey guys
have an i-mate SP5 which i was using last year (i've since upgraded to a Palm Treo 750). the reason why i stopped using it was because the far right soft key wasn't working.
i've tried hard-resetting the phone to no avail. every now and then it works then drops out... so i can't access any menu functions at all.
does someone have experience in opening it up? i thought maybe a cleanup might fix the problem... or maybe something's preventing the button from making contact with the board...
or shall i just pay someone to do it?
Right soft key not working? You might need to clean up the keypad, someone in modaco posted a tutorial

As variant: Try AE Button Plus. By this program you can remap your button.
I'm having a problem running WM6.5 ROMs on my ATT Tilt. I was wondering if anyone with a regular TyTN II w/WM6.5 was having the same issue. The buttons on my phone are unresponsive at times. I have to push down hard on the buttons to make them work every now and them. The directional pad and the toggle wheel freezes up the most. I find that if touch the screen sometimes prior to using the buttons they all respond well. This happens on Anryl's WM6.5 ROM (21202 rev8) and on Sakajati's WM6.5 Hyperdragon IV Lite. Anyone with a Tilt or a TyTN II having this problem with WM6.5? Is there a fix?

should post your issues on the ROM's you are having difficulties with

Hi everyone. Sorry if i posted this in a wrong section, but General seems a right place for it...
I just put my hands onto a used Pharos Traveler 137 today, and it's driving me mad.
From what i remember, the power button should turn off backlight when pressed shortly.
On the Traveler, it invokes a soft-reset.
This happened on both native WM 6.1 and the official update to WM 6.5.
I have even uninstalled all applications in case anything was interfering. Didn't help. I just touch the power button and it reboots immediately.
Is there something i'm overlooking?
Can anyone help me solve the problem?
Maybe the button is mapped to something wrong? Is there, for that matter, an application or a registry tweak that will remap it?
Any help will be much appreciated; thank you all in advance.
Update: i have also found out that even when i lock the device software-wise (Start -> Lock in WM 6.5) and the nifty padlock thingy appears, the power button isn't disabled, it reboots my phone just as well. can i be 100% sure this is a hardware problem or is it still a software bug?

Hi, have a look on this threat and you will find more people on the same boat as you http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?p=13533804#post13533804
Hi,
I recently bought a mini bluetooth keyboard for use with my Asus A696 (WM 6.0).
It works very well and I'm very happy with it; although there is a problem: the "FN" key on my keyboard does not seem to be recognized by WM. This is a problem as I need to press FN and another key together to get a question mark and some other important things. If I now press FN and the desired key together, it acts like I didn't press the FN key.
Can someone help me solve this?
Thanks in advance!
I still did not find any solution. Is here really noone who can help me?

I have an HTC HD2 running an Android Nand Rom. But the 'hardware' keypad is not working anymore (probably due to extensive use).
Im looking for some mod or rom which has these keys on screen so i can keep using the phone. Anyone who knows something like this or a different solution?
Thanks!
ps. the hang-up call/power key is still working. So i can still get it active.

Hello it is possible with cyanogenmod based builds. In cm setting - tablet tweaks you can enable soft buttons. It is possible to emulate all key.
