[ROM] KiNgxKxROM Sense Hybrid Version 2.3 "Back to Work We Go" <11/9/09>

Ok guys so just as I promised, my ROM is finally here. This ROM is COMPLETELY FULL. Tell me if you would like something added and I will be glad to do so. A "lite" version may also be in store. I implemented a lot of speed boosters, tell me this isn't a blistering quick ROM. THIS IS VERY FAST.
NOTE: Things can be kind of slow at first boot. Give it a few minutes to get all settled in and things will be blazing I tell you!

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Haykuro's "death" spl
2. Latest Radio (Both can be found here: http://code.google.com/p/sapphire-port-dream/)
3. 3 Partitions in this order: Fat32, Ext 1/2/3/4, Linux-Swap
4. Class 6 sd card (like every other Hero ROM)
5. Cyanogen's Recovery image 1.3.1+
If you're having problems wiping or installing apps from the market:

Well, I'll giver a go! love hero ROMs, but use bluetooth to regularly to keep em. But I dont mind guneapigging out a little!

Just a quick note on the IME. It's got some bugs, I went trigger happy with the red marker and it has a couple errors. I'll try to fix it and I'll post on this thread the fixed one.

Well I'm in class right now so I can't answer it definately, but I'm not sure it would work because the widgets seem to look to rosie. Im not sure at all tho, hopefully another deg can give a better answer

impossible the widgets are designed to work with rosie only, sorry

ok thanks for at least answering i thought youd tell me to search to be 100% honest lol.
and i flash it over and it was laggy and i kept getting force close after force close.
i truley dont think that any cook will ever get rosie working reliably. hope it works for the rest of you but im back to cyan.

I'm not too sure... is the original modaco 2.2 mytouch-compatible? Because then it would at least be possible...

It works well if you put in a user.conf with 64mb swap partition and 60 swappiness... otherwise it's useless cuz all this hero stuff CANNOT run well on the G1 without some other RAM source.

I've heard others say 96mb Swap partition. Have you tried both and like 64mb better?

Ok guys so just as I promised, a recomiled Hero ROM with a few different bases. This ROM is COMPLETELY FULL. Tell me if you would like something added and I will be glad to do so. A "lite" version may also be in store. I implemented a lot of speed boosters, tell me this isn't a blistering quick ROM. THIS IS FASTER THAN THE ORIGINAL MoDaCo 2.2. If you don't believe me, give this a flash.
NOTE: First boot takes awhile, and when you first turn on your phone its a little slow for 30 seconds or so. This is mostly due to the amount of widgets set up and resources being hogged. Remove whatever widgets dont tickle your fancy, this should speed things up

anyway is the death spl really *required*?
as I'm with 32A and I've flashed to many other 32B roms (evil's, maxisma's and Hero3G) and patch a working 32A kernel over it without any problem, and the resulting rom is very fast indeed.
I wonder could I do the same to this rom...it would be fun to try out new rom

i mightve missed this, but is it 32a or b?

this is for 32B

sorry for a question that maybe out of topic
is 32B and 32A technically different? Coz I just read that HeroLED wouldn't support magic because the "pathing" to the led lits are different so it's only for dream/G1 phones, correct me if I'm mistaken.
p/s: I've personally tried HeroLED211.apk on 32A with Maxisma Hero1.8 and it does not work(read: no LED/trackball flashes continuously on sms/miss call) even after a reboot and everything checked inside its preferences.
anyone can enlighten me would be VERY MUCH appreciated

ok, just flashed and my auto orientation doesn't work....do i need the bfs 230 for this to work or what did i do wrong? im pretty familiar with flashing n all that, thanks.
*UPDATE* works now....don't know if it was from flashing bfs 230 or just from a reboot, but all is good....just the led issue, even using the hero led. any ideas to led's?

I would like to see all the Sprint apps like Sprint Navigation and Sprint TV on this ROM and then I would flash it... looks good so far though...

Hmm, as opposed to KNEX81, my led blinks in green+trackball flashes continuously when sms arrives, and trackball flashes continuously when there is missed call(s).
however...for me the charging LED doesn't work
-once I turned off my phone, the LED shows orange (charging)
-if I switch my phone on, the LED just goes away
-when it's fully charge, the LED does show green in color.
any idea why?? thanks this is the only ROM that makes my trackball works, cheers!!!

the author of HeroLED has confirmed that his apk only work for Dream/G1(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4772739&postcount=106) and I had removed it from my ROM everything (trackball/LED) still work fine without it.
anyway as mentioned above, charging LED doesn't work when usb plugged in and Missed Reminder couldn't change the LED blinking color for incoming SMS.
it would be VERY VERY cool if you can fix these.MANY THANKS!!!!!!

Albums, swiping force close on Rosie, and the bubbles... Other than that somebody said they couldn't make calls but others have said they can

I tried this out. Complete wipe. (factory reset, dalvik, ext partition). Upon setup, I signed in to gmail. Then it tried to make me run the sign in again. Then a soft reset. Got a FC on com.android.settings. Tried to set up facebook and got a FC on com.HTC.bg. Got FB setup finally and went to homescreen. Tried to slide screen, and got a FC on changing screens every time I tried. HTC Sense com.HTC.launcher. Restarted a couple of times and continued to get the same FC's.

When I installed it, this post didn't exist. There were no instructions. I downloaded from the link he provided on twitter.

screenies and changelog partially up,
been very busy, working on this ALOT to deliver the least amount of fc's possible, while still delivering a espresso look and feel
anyway, since I am literally working alone (no more htcpedia and associates,) i need all the help I can get from you all. anyone playing with these files let me know, I noticed this ROM is nothing more then files in the right place. very tedious. IE) some .xmls in a particular folder allowed me to use espresso widgets, includding twitter

If his reasoning behind him skipping the initial setup was just like the other 2.x releases, it was meant to bypass the power issue that was happening with syncing..

Installation:
- Wipe recommend. Also it might work without...
- You might want to add some 32MB/64Mb of swap. If you don't know how to add a swap partition, you can use preinstalled SwapDroid instead. You Won't need a partition for that - it creates a swap file.
(I recommend a swap partition nevertheless. You can leave swap enabled when connected to a PC + its faster)
- StockSPL on the G1? Should be possible with 1.7rc.
On 32b Magic/Mytouch3g you don't have to flash a different SPL.
- Flash it and enjoy.
- (And you might have to reboot it to run properly...)
- As any other dev, i'm not to blame in case of termonucular war...
- If you want to safe energy, go to SetCPU and do something like 128 to 528 Mhz + Advanced: Up Threshold about 55% + Set on Boot. Also Set Sleep/Standby profile to 128 to 245 Mhz
+ If you don't work with you're phone, you can disable swap partition. It will kill background processes and keep SD card usage low.
- Else: 528 to 528 + Governor to performance
Note:
- Phone will Reboot once after Installation (!) [It's not looping(!)]
+ Takes some minutes for 1st boot.
- When everything is set up, it doesn't hurt to reboot. (I don't but it might help for them force closes)

Battery life depends on CPU settings.
Set it in Supsetup... darn it!
Next bug: SupSetup seems to need MetaMorph.
Will release a build without HTC Ime, with metamorph and new launcher theme later (why does every keyboard force close :/)
But in 6 Minutes you get your first beta to play with

Lol that's why I've startet this rom. I didn't like the looks of CSDI but no other rom was faster

This ROM actually looks really interesting. I haven't used any other ROM besides cyanogen b.c I can't stand not having good graphics. I will definitely give this a try if you can upload it. Go register on AndroidSpin, they have a nice server.

By the way I used the time to play around with the launcher.
Now using the launcher from Elegance. It suits the overall theme very nicely.
But it's no more the advanced launcher. may include it again tomorrow...
SupSetup is still not working... :/

On my 4.0.4 running Galaxy Nexus it runs very nice and it opens faster then the stock dialer. NICE Work! If you plan on continuing development and support that would be great.
Would buy it right away if you plan on releasing a paid version.

there is information on what smartphones ICSDialer + will work exactly? I have a Samsung Galaxy S II and after the installation ICSDialer + nowhere, there is no shortcut in the applications menu. Does this mean that ICSDialer + does not work for me?

the only thing, you need to have, is android ICS (4.0+), then it should work...

Yes, I have android 4.0.3 ROM Omega 10.0.1 Rus. In the list of installed applications on Google Play ICSDialer have only one button "delete" button is not "open" as in other applications.
Can you give any advice how to get it to work? Can replace the standard file dialer .apk in system / app?

really strange... my only advice is to try to re-install it...
dont replace any package in system/app. this is normal standalone application and that means, its installed in data/app...

Don't get me wrong, but as far as i know, ICS dialer now supports T9 (from 4.0.3 i think), so what differs this from the original?

sorry to tell you, but you are wrong... there is no support for t9 searching...

I'm almost 100 percent sure that it is, I'm not on ICS right now but I've used it a couple of weeks and I couldn't live without it.
Are we talking about the same thing here?
Edit: my mistake, thing is that all the ICS roms I've tried (CM9, Primo with sense 4 and some others all had T9. I suppose "standard" android doesn't have this.

i am 100% sure. i have my galaxy nexus with ICS 4.0.4 in front of me and there is no T9 search in dialer...
see for your self...

unfortunately, still does not work for me. It may need android 4.0.4?

could you capture logcat output while installing it ?

Brand new nexus with 4.0.4 flashed, Lean Kernel, plus battery mod, and enhanced power menus v3 with native tether.
And now your ICS T9 dialer. Works like a charm. Thanks. I might switch back to DialerOne (used on my old DINC) but for now I want to try to stay as close to the ICS experience as possible
