[ROM] Soulife's Roger Remix V3.1 [Sept/29/2009] (small/fast)

Soulife's Roger Remix v3.1
Version 3 was completely rebuilt from scratch. I incorporated the new HTC update, as well as added mytouch support (sapphire 32b). This build will also fit any spl, so you need not worry about which spl you have or which version to download. Themes coming soon... (i hate not being themed)
(There's 2 builds available now. The regular will work with any spl, and the extended build has been "odexed". The odexed build should be slightly faster, and will also give you full space on your data partition. All themes that get developed will be for one or the other, and not compatible between the 2)
Yes, this will work on your mytouch (sapphire 32b), rogers, or dream/G1 device
Please check this thread by haykuro before flashing this on a rogers phone!!
To add all the ringtones, alarms, and notification sounds back on the phone download the sounds.zip file from download page, and add those 3 directories to the root of your sdcard. Viola, you now have audio.
Also hero and standard wallpapers are available for download.
This Build is constantly getting worked on, so looking at the change log to figure out what your getting can be confusing. So here it is in a nutshell...(as of September 29, 2009)
DO NOT RUN ANY OTHER APPS2SD APPLICATIONS ON THIS BUILD. YOU WILL BREAK YOUR SYSTEM. THEY ARE NOT NECESSARY BECAUSE THIS ROM WILL DO A2SD AUTOMATICALLY AND BETTER!
Built with Cyanogen's kernel and ramdisk (4.0.4)

i modified his a2sd script and ramdisk to be more suited for this build, also dalvik-cache stays on internal memory and not on sdcard when a2sd is active)

* Enhanced ramdisk which uses optimal mount options and smart startup

Because it's been modified from the rogers rom. In theory, if it works on a G1, it'll work on a rogers. He's just not guaranteeing it as it's not the device he has.

Installed, just applied the odex them. It's booting. I'll let ya know.

So if I try to flash my stock Rogers Dream... all I do is rename this to update.zip and do the flash procedure¿
I`m not suppose to flash the radio or spl due that they don`t work on the Rogers Dream.

You'll have to root first.
Just installed. First impressions, great theme rework. Funny thing is, it's basically what I've always used prior to going to rogers. So far, everything seems quick, as expected with a Rogers rom.

The clock is bothering me with the theme. When it switches to double digits or landscape it looks... well ugly. Ill try to do somethin with the theme or "bang" my head against the wall to port a white clock. I don't wanna lose my black status bar lol. I donno maybe I'm just missing stericson touch.

Sigh... if you search you'll find. But maybe ill put up a resources download for some of the stuff I gutted. No promises though.

Ok guys so just as I promised, a recomiled Hero ROM with a few different bases. This ROM is COMPLETELY FULL. Tell me if you would like something added and I will be glad to do so. A "lite" version may also be in store. I implemented a lot of speed boosters, tell me this isn't a blistering quick ROM. THIS IS FASTER THAN THE ORIGINAL MoDaCo 2.2. If you don't believe me, give this a flash.
NOTE: First boot takes awhile, and when you first turn on your phone its a little slow for 30 seconds or so. This is mostly due to the amount of widgets set up and resources being hogged. Remove whatever widgets dont tickle your fancy, this should speed things up
Changelog will be on the next post.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Haykuro's "death" spl
2. Latest Radio (Both can be found here: http://code.google.com/p/sapphire-port-dream/)
3. 3 Partitions in this order: Fat32, Ext 1/2/3/4, Linux-Swap
4. Class 6 sd card (like every other Hero ROM)

as I'm with 32A and I've flashed to many other 32B roms (evil's, maxisma's and Hero3G) and patch a working 32A kernel over it without any problem, and the resulting rom is very fast indeed.
I wonder could I do the same to this rom...it would be fun to try out new rom

i mightve missed this, but is it 32a or b?

sorry for a question that maybe out of topic
is 32B and 32A technically different? Coz I just read that HeroLED wouldn't support magic because the "pathing" to the led lits are different so it's only for dream/G1 phones, correct me if I'm mistaken.
p/s: I've personally tried HeroLED211.apk on 32A with Maxisma Hero1.8 and it does not work(read: no LED/trackball flashes continuously on sms/miss call) even after a reboot and everything checked inside its preferences.
anyone can enlighten me would be VERY MUCH appreciated

ok, just flashed and my auto orientation doesn't work....do i need the bfs 230 for this to work or what did i do wrong? im pretty familiar with flashing n all that, thanks.
*UPDATE* works now....don't know if it was from flashing bfs 230 or just from a reboot, but all is good....just the led issue, even using the hero led. any ideas to led's?

Hmm, as opposed to KNEX81, my led blinks in green+trackball flashes continuously when sms arrives, and trackball flashes continuously when there is missed call(s).
however...for me the charging LED doesn't work
-once I turned off my phone, the LED shows orange (charging)
-if I switch my phone on, the LED just goes away
-when it's fully charge, the LED does show green in color.
any idea why?? thanks this is the only ROM that makes my trackball works, cheers!!!

the author of HeroLED has confirmed that his apk only work for Dream/G1(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4772739&postcount=106) and I had removed it from my ROM everything (trackball/LED) still work fine without it.
anyway as mentioned above, charging LED doesn't work when usb plugged in and Missed Reminder couldn't change the LED blinking color for incoming SMS.
it would be VERY VERY cool if you can fix these.MANY THANKS!!!!!!

It has all of the official 2.1 widgets and HTC peep! It is very snappy, and contains all the reliability and goodies you would expect from me.

Browser, back to Home, got loading screen. It just sits there Loading. Had to reboot.

Albums, swiping force close on Rosie, and the bubbles... Other than that somebody said they couldn't make calls but others have said they can

I tried this out. Complete wipe. (factory reset, dalvik, ext partition). Upon setup, I signed in to gmail. Then it tried to make me run the sign in again. Then a soft reset. Got a FC on com.android.settings. Tried to set up facebook and got a FC on com.HTC.bg. Got FB setup finally and went to homescreen. Tried to slide screen, and got a FC on changing screens every time I tried. HTC Sense com.HTC.launcher. Restarted a couple of times and continued to get the same FC's.

been very busy, working on this ALOT to deliver the least amount of fc's possible, while still delivering a espresso look and feel
anyway, since I am literally working alone (no more htcpedia and associates,) i need all the help I can get from you all. anyone playing with these files let me know, I noticed this ROM is nothing more then files in the right place. very tedious. IE) some .xmls in a particular folder allowed me to use espresso widgets, includding twitter

Installation:
- Wipe recommend. Also it might work without...
- You might want to add some 32MB/64Mb of swap. If you don't know how to add a swap partition, you can use preinstalled SwapDroid instead. You Won't need a partition for that - it creates a swap file.
(I recommend a swap partition nevertheless. You can leave swap enabled when connected to a PC + its faster)
- StockSPL on the G1? Should be possible with 1.7rc.
On 32b Magic/Mytouch3g you don't have to flash a different SPL.
- Flash it and enjoy.
- (And you might have to reboot it to run properly...)
- As any other dev, i'm not to blame in case of termonucular war...
- If you want to safe energy, go to SetCPU and do something like 128 to 528 Mhz + Advanced: Up Threshold about 55% + Set on Boot. Also Set Sleep/Standby profile to 128 to 245 Mhz
+ If you don't work with you're phone, you can disable swap partition. It will kill background processes and keep SD card usage low.
- Else: 528 to 528 + Governor to performance

- Phone will Reboot once after Installation (!) [It's not looping(!)]
+ Takes some minutes for 1st boot.
- When everything is set up, it doesn't hurt to reboot. (I don't but it might help for them force closes)

- nexus like adw launcher2 (v.4) with previews...
- fixed the notification slider (goes all the way down, finally)
- added the default wallpaper to gallery
- Wallpaper-Gallery is all new! (For example the girls from cyanogen...)
- animations from Blur for now (but may change back in next version)
- CPU is set 128 to 512 mhz. may save some energy (but up threshold is 40... too low to actually save energy will play with it for the next build)
(If it's too slow for you, feel free to use setcpu)
- I have been working heavily on the theme, to make it smooth and less memory-consumpting.
- fixed some issues (issues that let me skipy 1.9)
- HTC IME as default keyboard instead of boring android one... (finally!)
- Some blur parts mixed in, for example animations (motorolla does phones, also )
- More Stable than 1.8 (messages work again).
- An awful lot besides that..
- Did I mention that it's superfast?
- close to perfect. only some grafical issues and no renice for htc ime at the moment (nothing overimportant..)

Battery life depends on CPU settings.
Set it in Supsetup... darn it!
Next bug: SupSetup seems to need MetaMorph.
Will release a build without HTC Ime, with metamorph and new launcher theme later (why does every keyboard force close :/)
But in 6 Minutes you get your first beta to play with

Lol that's why I've startet this rom. I didn't like the looks of CSDI but no other rom was faster

This ROM actually looks really interesting. I haven't used any other ROM besides cyanogen b.c I can't stand not having good graphics. I will definitely give this a try if you can upload it. Go register on AndroidSpin, they have a nice server.

been using CSDI for 2 days, its seriously fast, gonna try this one now!!

less than half an hour to go... but this time - it's for real
By the way I used the time to play around with the launcher.
Now using the launcher from Elegance. It suits the overall theme very nicely.
But it's no more the advanced launcher. may include it again tomorrow...
SupSetup is still not working... :/
Either I get it running tomorrow or I'll leave it out. Its in spanish anyway
