Hi
I was using WkTask as task manager, but I am having problems with thi program.
for example, when it is running, every game or weather animation, skips frames, playing experiment 13, every 3 seconds, I got a skip animation in the game, or on weather home screen on a cloudy day, I can see the clouds skipping frames.
If I unninstall the progra, then all runs again smooth.
So, be aware that this program affects severe to the graphic performance.
Even if its the best tas manager, it is not a good program for our hd2
it is a great program. I was having problems with my start button, it woud freeze nd i wouldnt be able to press start. I had to reset my device and it would work again, then after a couple of hours the same thing would happen. I keep wktask off and everything is now fine

your problem is wkTask itself.you have to create exeptions in preferences.for each folder you have in startmenu just type name of folder and then mark Don't Close with X button.and you have to add "Start" as an exeption as well.after that no problems any more :-D

and i forgot to say that you DON'T HAVE TO hard reset when this happens.just soft reset and your start button works again and you can check your wkTask settings.
Ok, no problem polystirenman, I was trying all again, and I finally found the problem
It seems to be that pocketclock pro doesn't like much WkTask, and when it is open lags all the phone, If I close the program, all return to normality and I don't have any skip.
thanks by the way to say that your WkTask works fine.

i like this tool too...
But i would appreciate if the developers would eliminate some bugs, especially this with close "start"...
If you click close from the menu on the Start... this still disapear even when you set it on the exeption list. Also if you install a new software and this software creates a new folder in Start... you have to manual add this value in the exception list...
But still i like this tool

Is it just me or are other people having problems playing MP3s ?
Have just tried playing some from my SD card, they play for 29seconds and then advances to the next MP3, anyone else found this problem ??
Cheers
Like I have tried saying before - this is to do with the application 'close all programs'.
Don't know why - only happens after you use that program without a soft reset.
SO you are saying if I don't ugo into the memory area and do a close all that windows media player will work fine ??
Or are you talking about the program that is bundled in Midgets apps ?
If you have a battery meter program, try disabling it, and see if that helps.
I use iLauncher for my meter, and there is an option for that to use polling instead of whatever the normal way was, and it fixed the issue. It also fixed the issue by disabling the meters totally.
Nope not got much else installed really, PIE and Opera are the two apps I installed, oh and Midgets extras pack !!
i would have to agree with alan... i have just installed a bettery meter.. and since i have installed i have had the same problem... guess im just going to have to uninstall the battery meter when i want to listen to tunes... no biggy!!
if I am not wrong WMP problem has nothing to do with the battery. the problem playin files for few sec the jumping to next comes and geos. you may likey ones you start the WMP the player plays normal until next time it apears again
I know it has nothing to do with the battery, but, iLauncher battery meter standard settings, WMP skips, turn off meter, WMP plays, switch meter to polling method, WMP plays, switch back to normal, WMP skips.
Like I said its that program that auto closes all programs in the memory, I think you get it from 'midget_1990_tweaks_and_hacks'. Same program is included in Helmes 3.5 version 1 ROM.
I know this cause I noly get this problem if I use that app. If you don't use this app then its another issue. Just sharing my findings. Hope it helps in some way or at least rules out an app.
I agree with mrbrightside, it works fine after a softreset AFTER you use that 'Close Apps' program. If no soft reset is done when Close Apps is used, the problem appears. Glad I found this thread though. Just confirmed what I thought was happening.
I have the same problem here, except it’s only plays for 6 seconds! I’ve been wondering what the h*ll happened to my WMP? Haven’t tried the solution above but I think it comes from either spb pocketplus (today plug in) or the close all utility
Thanks guys! Let’s see which one will be the solution! i'll post it latter....
I have Helmi's WM6 with Spb pocket plus, works fine for me...
Does seem to be the "Close Apps" program specifically, was outlined in Helmi's WM6 post. If you're using pocket plus, it has a built in full close application which doesn't cause a conflict with WMP.
Good luck all
i don't have that close apps program installed and my midia player tends to starts songs all skippy, like it's in fast foreward and then 5 seconds later it stops that and plays normally.
anyone else have this problem?

Have you done any registry speed tweaks? In a WM5 ROM I had it started doing that after I did some registry edits, but it played normally when I plugged in some earphones. I didn't get rid of it until I got a Crossbow ROM.
So what ever registry tweaks you've done, undo them, or just plug in some earphone and see if that works. I don't remember what reg key it was though...
yeah it stops skipping after i plug head phones in.
i'm running jwrights new wm6 rom.
i have tweaks 2K2 INSTALLED.. i'll try playing around with it..
well!, in tweaks i had low background quality of wmp on.
i turned it of, and it'll skip once when the song starts and it's fine. thats great! good enough for me, you're a good man!
WMP Skipping
I had the same problem also when i first installed the new Helmi_c 3.5 rom. But after a soft reset, the problem seems to disappear. Strange.. Will try and see whether the problem persists.
argh actually i have the same problem and even after soft resets it still persists.
i'd like it to stop but nothing i';ve tried works. it's not too bad though, i'm rarely playing music on the external speakers anyways
check the file format of your tracks
initally was experiencing the same problem of media player shutting down after a few seconds using mp4 files.. i converted my track to mp3 and it seems to of resolved the problem all tracks now playback normally
So i've been having this problem for a while...
I installed Calligrapher, TenGO, Happy Keyboard... but besides the first time I start it up, I can never get it to activate. It always defaults back to the keyboard.
I have plenty of memory free (15 megs), nothing is started, If i launch any of the input methods as the first thing after a softreset, it'll sometime work. Otherwise, i can never get it to run. I figure it's a memory issue, but I really do have more than 10 megs free at any given time...
the HTC Phonepad works fine, same with block recognizer...
Anyone else run into a problem like this?

Same happened to me today with TenGo. Try opening the Tengo in Word, then it will work OK.
That didn't help at all.. No matter what application is running, It always opens the default keyboard instead.
I think i found out a possible issue: If i removed all the third party today screen plugins (i have pocket weather, phone alarm, calendar, and tasks), and only have calendar and today, then soft reset, I have a pretty good chance in starting calligrapher and tengo immediately after the softreset. But once I turn on phone alarm and pocketweather, calligrapher gets all slow and laggy and I can't enable calligrapher or tengo after a softreset.
So these today plugins are conflicting somehow... I dunno how since I still see 15+ megs available RAM on the device regardless of how many plugins I have enabled...
anyone have any insight?
i had similar prob. as well, there is some prob with loading try to put SIPz in startup folder. google it.
I had a similar problem, i fixed it by using the attached file. Install the cab, go to programs -> Im Selector -> choose default keyboard and restart.

is it working on wm6?
This morning i got up and my screen looks as it was broken. Just like broken glass or something. Since my phone is just next to my bed i thought i accidently stepped on it during the night, but upon closer look it was not the screen but the software.
Everything seemed to be working normally, only in TF3D the is a pattern that makes it look like your screen is broken. When you switch to WM 6.1 screens it disappears. Switch back to TF3D and it's back.
Softreset solved the issue.
Any other people having this freaky issue?
You could think of it as a feature, like those fake bullet holes you put on glass. Too bad you can't figure out how to control it.

Happens to me too almost every second day. The other thing what happens in the morning, is that it reboots automatically.
I thought it is related to the charger, I was not using the TP charger, but a general USB one.
Now I switched to the factory charger, whith the factory cable, and still happens.
Somebody load magicSS onto thier device.....set it to a hardware button of some sort (if you can) and get a screenshot of it when it happens.

Had this problem on TytN II
I experienced this on my TytN II. I had it replaced in the shop I bought it from. It never happened again.... Don´t know if it is exactly the same issue but it looked the same as the screen shot above.....
Had it on my Touch Pro, I'm convinced its a software issue.
If it happens to you guys again try this:
1. Start -> Settings -> Today -> Items: Here, uncheck TouchFLO 3D.
2. Exit to today screen (you should see nothing but a black screen and the top and bottom bars (start menu etc)
3. Start -> Settings -> Today -> Items: Here, check TouchFLO 3D.
4. Exit to today screen. The TF3D interface should now be back and look like normal.

Exactly, all other programs/the rest of the interface is fine. ONLY TF3D is affected by this "broken glass" issue.
It's gotta be a software issue.
I had the same problem the first morning I got my TP. Then it didn't happend anymore. But today (5 days later) I got it during the morning.
I tried disable and reable the tflo3d plugin but it still was the same, only a sofy reset will help...
I think it's a software problem because the main clock isn't updating in stand-by mode (ounce I turn it on and the clock was set 30 minutes ago and then the clock fast fowarded itself to the right time) when the phone is set on a long time in stand-by mode and needed to be awakened, the clock need to adjust itself too much and the tflo plugin will crash.
Anyway if somebody knows how to solve it
btw, in a dutch forum many people got this issue..

If it happens again try launching some other application such as google maps, calculator, the messaging application (ie inbox or full message view etc) and see if looks ok. I am guessing those other applications will all look fine and only TF3D will be affected by the broken glass.
Hopefully a software problem.
I´ve never experienced the "broken glass" issue, but however as i posted earlier i got this screen (see attachment) when i woke up. Afterwards it suddenly disappeared with the error message from TouchFLO3D that i needed to restart the application. After restarting i´d never happend again.
Hoping new ROM´s will fix our issue´s.
EDIT: I noticed that all this screen issue´s usually happens in the morning how weird is that.
It looks like only the rom 1.90.401.1 has this problem ???
Is there anyone with another rom that can confirm this problem ?
And I think we have two different problems, ''the broken glass'' and ''the grey screen'' like the attachment of WatskeBart ??
Anyone having crashes whenever they click on "Menu" for the Messages portion for TouchFlo3D? I'm not sure when it starts, but I think it happens when I install the Call History tab from NaviDavi. Everytime I hit the menu softkey, manila.exe crashes, and it's the ONLY menu not working properly for me.
Anyone else using a different history tab without any issues?
I do not have the call history tab, but have the calendar tab. No crashes to this point sorry to say.
Try another ROM. DCSv14 for example. No troubles in stability at all. On stock ROMs I also have a crashes on manila.exe, gwes.exe and shell32.exe in random cases.
I dint have any problems as such, try a hard reset if you want...

I think your best bet is to install a known good rom...
Man, this is strange. I installed a Diamond only theme with no landscape and my Menu button the SMS portion of TouchFlo magically worked. No crashes. Then I installed the patched version for Touch Pro from NisseDILLIGAF, and the problem came back again.
I want to know how I can find out the source of this problem. If it's a tweak that caused this, which tweak could it be?
Nobody else having this problem after installing the call history cab?
My solution may not please you, but I installed Diamond TF3D config and simply deleted that tab. Now all the Icon sets I have d/l work like a charm and I actually find myself enjoying TF3D. I AM NOT using a cooked ROM, but a factory ROM that came in the phone last week.
Now the embarrasing thing is that I cannot tell you if it happend with the Original TF3D. To be honest, I HATED TF3D at first, before I started doing the tweaks.
Are others experiencing this or is it time for the dreaded hard reset and rebuilding? I have an ATT Fuze with a stock from and the black TF3D theme... various pokes and prods to the registry.

The list shows as empty, i.e. nothing running.
I too have experienced this from time to time. Using a combination of a more advanced task manager (dotFred or memmaid) along with MemMaids reclaim ram feature it is usually rectified. Sometimes simply restarting tf3d fixes it. (either ending task or turning it off in today settings)
To be honest though, this only seems to happen maybe once per day/ once every two days and can quickly be fized by a soft reset.
You can also try scaling back your file system and filter cache. (leave font) I have both mine set to 4mb and havent experienced a slowdown with this rom and settings yet. I used to have max cache on everything (elite rc2) yet I dont seem to need it.
It may have no effect and can possibly be attributed to my old rom setup getting overloaded. I'll post reports of any more slow downs.
