I used to be able to download certain voices for free thru TomTom (9.10) on my phone. But now I am on 9.16 it is asking me for a username+password. Anyone any ideas?
Anybody got 'Jane' zipped up that they can send me?

If you open an account with TomTom (costs nothing) you will be able to download Jane for free, via your HD2, also Tim and a couple of other English speakers.

its a dll (belongs to another program or the system). try skype for PPC.
http://www.skype.com/download/skype/mobile/
Skype??!!
No..this dll it is found under windows in all the rom crossbow..attach it..
since dll files are hidden files you got to tick on search all files in your window directory to locate it.
I don't possess at all this file..please upload.

Sorry I am not able to copy this file as i get access denied. Perhaps one of senior people in here would be able to help.
Ok.It tries with Resco Explorer:copy the dll and put it in the external memory.
Then you connect the device to the pc and you have resolved.

if you are on helmis rom the plugin is all you will get. the other components of the voip functionality are still missing from the rom.

Hi there,
I looked over to the "sticky" thread but apprently the links won't work anymore, thanks to all so helpfull palm support (from November 1st).
Could anyone share a generic wm6 rom on rapidshare or mediafire, or link me to a download page if I have overlooked something.
Treo750_2_23_ROW_EN_DesktopUpdater.zip would be highly appreciated.
Thank you very much.
I too would like this
well im doing some googling and find this:
Part 1:

the files consist of 2 part. the 1st part is around 48MB and the 2nd part is around 14MB, but after i extract it, both files contain the same files and at the same size, which is Treo750_2_23_ROW_EN_DesktopUpdater in both .rar files. thts really make me confuse
any1 know how & why?
Do you know what the password is for those two files?
can somebody upload Treo750_2_18_xxx_DesktopUpdater.zip file?

There has never been an official WM6.1 update for the Treo 750, so the short answer is no. That file will get you WM6.0.

Does anyone know of an app that I can run from my device (Tmo Wing w/WM6.5) that can extract the cab file from an exe file?
I don't have a desktop computer and I have a lot of executables that install through the pc that I would like to install on my device.
Or is there another way of installing these types of files?
Or can I just change the file extension?
exe files that run from your pc, actually store the cab on your pc and transfer it.
most files you need are probably in cab format on the web already.
the exe wont help if you rename it.
what it does is extract the files to
C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\app name
Unfortunately, I don't have a computer at the moment. Had to send my motherboard back to the manufacturer to be repaired.
So I am not able to do it the way you mentioned. There's gotta be a way install with pc executables..
The main reason is I have the full version of Fade (ppc game) and I don't see it as a cab on the net anywhere.
If anyone would be willing to share the cab with me, I would be greatful.

Hi there, try what the guys have said above. Also please do not ask someone to provide a cab for a paid app/game, its against xda rules.
Be careful if your doing this, dont distribute the cab if you manage to extract it.
Cheers.
Hi all
I want to download MS Marketplace. I found a link on Microsoft's webshop. There you can write your Mobile-Phone-Number and they will (hopefully) send you a download-Link.
Unfortunately the link isn't supported for Switzerland-Numbers.
Could someone please post a link or upload the cab?
that would be great! thanks.

Please use search next time.
thank you.
You might want to think about using marketplace first. The main problem with marketplace is that it only allows you to download and install to the phone's memory, you cannot choose storage memory. Your phone will be out of memory after a few downloads.
hi. thanks.
do you think, it's the same problem with the OpnMarket-(App)?

OpenMarket allows you to download the App to your Storage card. When you download an App from OM, the cab file is stored in cache file located in storagecard/programs/openmarket/cache. When the cab file installs you have the choice to install to device or storage.
Don't know why MS can't do the same.

Well you adapt the config.ini to th likening of your navigator and copilot.exe you put in the copilot directory.
For more explanation you could take a look over here : http://www.google.com/cse?cx=partner-pub-2900107662879704:fs7umqefhnf&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=navipanel+hd2

Mate it looks like you copy the copilot folder to your Device\Program Files and then edit the config file to contain the path to your chosen nav software.

i don't have igo8 installed on my hd2.
i have it on my sd card and ususaly i make a shortcut to igo8.exe from my sa card in order to run it
if you can make it work, maybe you post here a step by step guide
thanks a lot!
1) Modify the "config.ini" file with a text editor (eg. notepad).
So if you're using TomTom for example the Path looks like this:
Path=Program Files/Navigator/TomTom Navigator.exe
2) Create a directory named "CoPilot" in "\Program Files".
3) Copy the "CoPilot.exe" and your modified "config.ini" files in this directory.
4) Start the NaviPanel and it should work.
If it doesn't work it is maybe you're using a custem ROM and you have to register "alksdk.dll". To do so create the followong registry key :
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\NaviSW]
"SDKModule"="\\windows\\alksdk.dll"
I included my .cab which does everything for you, so you only have to change the "config.ini" file if you're not using TomTom. It creates a shortcut for NaviPanel in Programs - GPS, adds an icon I like to NaviPanel, starts TomTom and register the dll.
Good Luck guys hopefully this was helpfull for you.

Awesome thanks for your help.
I am making some progress now. I was unable to even get clickiable icons in the navipanel.
After installing the cab I have clickable icons in the navipanel but when I click them I get a message apperar that says "-2147479552" All I can do is hit OK but it keeps reapperaring.
My tom tom is installed directly to the root of the storage card. When I change the path to point to my exe file all the icons in the navipanel are greyed out again.
What am I missing here?

@ Piemole
For the case of TomTom just install TomTom on your device and not on the Storage Card.
For iGo8 verify carefully the path to your Storage Card. If you use a different language ROM the name of the Storage Card is not always the same.
Keep in mind that the config.ini file uses "/" and not "\" in the path. (it was like that and I never tried to change).
Keep also in mind that NaviPanel often stays resident, so after changes kill it with a Taskmanager or reboot your device.
If still not working try to Google the HD2 section in the forum. There is some information about iGo8. Copy the .exe and some .dll and the sys.txt out of the root of iGo8 directory and put them in the CoPilot directory, then change your sys.txt for the right paths.
i get that same number error "2455,,,,,,,"
this stuff is driving me insane
cum on robert_mass....create a step by step tuitorial....i just need to know what has to be done in directing navipanel to igo8 exe

I ended up copying the tom tom files (without the maps) to my device storage and it worked.
I have left the maps on my storage card and it still seems to work.

@Twilight, I think your problem will be the same as mine. Try making a Navigation folder in program files on yourt device and copy trhe igo8 files there, then change the exe name to TomTom Navigator. I reckon that will fix it (worked for me anyways)
Thanks again Robert

Ok, cool it worked for you!
Normally you install the TomTom .cab on your device (the HD2 has lots of memory) and the maps ofcourse you leave on your SD card (TomTom will find them there without any problem).
