Im currently running the supermagicv2r3 on my mt3g. can any one tell me how to flash the trojan_final.zip briefly. im running 32b. its hard to understand through all these post. i usually tube it. If its ne one out there i would appreciate it. oh and tell me what else i need to download. i already have the 1.3.2 recovery image by Amon Ra, and i downloaded trojan_final.zip
Eugene's trojan? I believe you have to flash over the 32A radio and recovery image through fastboot. If you don't know what you are doing, I suggest you don't do attempt it because you will brick your phone. This also belongs in general.
You should go here if you need further help that goes into more detail than the little tid bit that I have given you.

i kno what i am doing as far as. rooting my phone back to 1.5. downloading flash
rec plus the recovery image. flashing the rec image. rebooting the phone to rec image. then once i drag the rom onto my sd card. wiping factory reset and ext partition. then part sd: fat32 blah blah blah. and converting ext2 to ext3. but all these other words is like new to me. i kno what to do. juss not exactly
I don't want to give you false information. I would go check Eugene's thread to see if you need the 32A radio, but he removed everything because he has decided to move to another forum. I need confirmation on that. Do you know if it's for 32A or for 32B?
Also, do you know how to use fastboot/adb?

i just checked on his other forum that he is now at. apparently it's a 32B so you don't have to worry about fastboot. just wipe data/factory reset. Then wipe your ext and davlik. Then wipe data/factory reset again for good measure. Then flash the rom.
Or if you want a clean flash, repartition your sd card fat32+ext+swap, upgrade ext2 to ext3, repair file systems, wipe data/factory reset, then flash the rom.

I really appreciate that for real... so the second way is the best to go? and is there a fat32+ext+swap option in the newest recovery image by Amon Ra. which is recovery-RA-magic-v1.3.2G.img?
yeah it's the best way to go and it does have that option. You can even choose the values of how big you want your ext and swap. This recovery image is a lot better than his last one.

lol what exactly do u mean by values of ext and swap? and can i use the same flashrec i downloaded to use the supermagicv2r3 which is flashrec-1.1.2-20090909.apk. im sorry but these words with ext swap i dont really kno what they do i just follow instructions. but i wouldnt mind knowing the meaning
I don't know about the apk. Just go into your recovery image by pressing home and back. flash the rom from there.
ext is where your apps go for apps2sd. swap gives the phone virtual memory that is fed off the memory card to make up for the lack of ram that the phones we have. the original hero has 288MB and our phones that are google branded or 32B only have 192.

boot to recovery
and select partition
partition sd
swap-size minimum 64 (use track balll to change numbers)
press home
ext2 size leave size as is and fat 32
press home to partition
ok then
select usb-ms toggle
copy trojan-final across to card
reboot phone to recovery
select
flash update
choose.zip
select zip and flash
be warned bluetooth does not work on 32b hero roms
when you get more used to rom updates you could try the 32a hack to get bluetooth working

what made me root my explorer was the fact of the low internal memory and i after i found out i could use a partition on my sd card to use as internal memory i started to search for more info.
But its too confusing what ROM do i use if i need one how to setup the partitions etc.
what do they mean to wipe everything before inserting a new rom do they mean the phone the sd card.
I could use some help lol
thx in advance
brigas
Partition your sd card and create ext 2/3/4 partition using mini partition tool in computer.
Wiping everything means to format everything thing like cache partition, dalvik cache, system, boot, data partition SD ext ..... In recovery.
Don't format SD card.
Here you can select ROMs, scripts, kernels and tutorials for much more.

yeah i am currently checking that thread i used one of the links to root my phone. but now i kinda nervous on doing the next steps. i already did a backup of my sd card and my rom i think with the ClockworkMod recovery, So correct me if im wrong the next steps are:
Delete data from sd card and partition it into 4 partitions. with that partition mini tool
do a factory reset on the phone( i suppose is how u wipe everything)
and then use recovery to put the new Rom of my choosing.
is this right?
Follow this for creating ext partition.
Create only Only one ext partition.
http://www.noypigeeks.com/android/tutorial-a-guide-to-link2sd/
For flashing ROM, follow the instructions given on the thread of the ROM.
Basic method is
Reboot into recovery.
Format/wipe data
Wipe cache
Wipe dalvik cache in advance(menu)
Format SD ext, system, boot, in mounts and storage.
Now select install zip from SD card/chose zip from SD card/navigate to your ROM's directory/select it and yes to confirm.
Wait. After it says install from SD card completed. Reboot the phone.
You are done.
First boot of every ROM may take a little long. Wait and don't panic.
Some ROMs needs mounting ext, data, cache etc. Check the thread for that. I hope it'll help to get started.
Hit "THANKS". If this helped.
thx a lot man. Finally an explanation i can follow, thanks a lot guy i really appreciate it.

link for CWM : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415223
use this CWM for the 1st time latter on u can try the twrp
and u can creat a EXT2 part from this cwm but remember to take a backup of ur sd before doing it as it will wipe ur SD clean

I Am using flyROM v3 here. But I suggest not to go with it as it lags and have random reboots.
I suggest use jaggy ROM by jaggy/danceoff.
If you've rooted your phone using jaggy's tutorial, you are already on "yannou's recovery". This recovery is perfect. No issues At all but you can change it to TWRP for touch support and some more features. But I suggest be on yannou's recovery.(because some are having problems with TWRP flashing sense 4 ROMs )

Now after getting some sense about flashing. You can try other ROMs as well. Just wipe everything and flash.
Use titanium backup, root explorer, must have apps for rooted one.
Hit "THANKS". It encourages me.
Try
Cm 9,1 build11 man
or
cm9 Xperia fusion (Looks great)
This is best for u start with lag less Rome

You may partition SD with CWM (Clockworkmod Recovery). Make primary partition FAT32 and primary partition ext2, 3 or 4. The best ext4.
You may SD partition and with MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition. Download and install this application.
Tutorial:

Connect your phone Galaxy Fit with PC, and open MiniTool partition Wizard Home Edition.

So I am going to flash my phone to the ICS Debloated for the droid thunderbolt. problem? one step says
4ext Recovery
Make sure to format in ext3 format!
You need to wipe everything!!!!
There is no data wipe built in so folks can reflash at will and restore system.
First time, wipe everything!!! All partitions except SD!
Especially if coming from GB or AOSP!
Ok so i have 4ext recovery fully installed on my phone.
but how do i format to ext3 what is it, what does it do, and how do i go about perfecting this so i can flash my phone in flying colors. some one please help.
ext3 is file system used in Linux
There should be some software for windows to format partition in ext3.
Maybe some drivers could help.

Hello Sensationalists,
After 3 years I have upgraded my phone to an HTC One and would like to sell my old phone.
It is currently running ICS Android Revolution HD 7.3.
What I would like to do is wipe all data from my SD drive and sell the phone with a pre-installed latest version of Android Revolution. I have found several tools for erasing but do not want to brick my phone or do anything rash, so here I am asking the pro's :
What would be the best way to erase all data from my HTC Sensation (full erase, non recoverable) and provide the buyer with a clean installation of the phone?
I believe the factory reset is no longer possible due to the custom ROM installation etc. (been a while since I have worked with the phone so not sure).
Please be easy on me with the technical terms and abbreviations, I'm a little rusty .
Many thanks in advance!

Wipe data/Factory reset?
It asks me 'About to wipe data, cache and sd-ext partitions.. Wipe all Userdata?'. This is what you mean right? It's in the recovery EXT4 program.
And if I have done that then the entire thing is unrecoverable? So no private data can be found by using recovery programs?

But I want to wipe the SD card as well. Should I do 'Format all partitions (except SDcard)' and after that 'Format sdcard'? I read that people use special programs to completely wipe all data from SD cards with programs like 'RoadKill's diskwipe'. But if this program does the same thing then I'm good, I doubt it though, that's why I ask .

The thing is, I'm afraid that if I do this, reinstalling my phone will be a pain since EXT4 is put on the SDcard as far as I know. So if EXT4 doesn't wipe the data completely, and I have to use a PC program, I want to make sure I don't brick the device or delete crucial content for a clean installation.
So let me rephrase: How to wipe (unrecoverable) all data from my HTC Sensation including the SDcard, without losing the possibility of reinstalling the phone whilst avoiding the possibility of bricking the device/losing the possibility of a clean installation
I don't want the person that buys my phone to have access to files formerly stored on the SDcard or the phone itself.

I did not know that, thanks! I'll just use a program from my PC then to wipe all data, then do a format all partitions (except SDcard) and do a clean installation of Android Revolution 7.3 ICS for the new buyer. This should suffice then right? Will this also wipe the data on my phone, numbers etc.? (I will destroy my simcard since I won't need it any more).

when installing CM12.1 (tried 3 diffirent versions) i am always getting status 6 installation aborted.
can the problem be with the kernels? i tried 3 diffirent kernels for I9100.
Please help
Much appreciated.
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
If you are certain that the ROMs you are flashing are for the I9100 specifically(not another model), then you may be able to use jrummy's root browser to unzip the ROM zip that you are trying to flash, after unzipping, find the META.INF folder and open it then edit the updater script in that file, then using jrummy's root browser compress everything back into a flashable zip, when it prompts you asking which compression level you want to use, select "best", after its zipped, make sure it's placed on your extsdcard(do NOT put it on internal sdcard). When you get in recovery, go to the advanced options and select the option that lets you wipe individual partitions, wipe the system partition and the data partition(DO NOT WIPE ANY OF THE OTHER PARTITIONS), after wiping the system and data partitions you flash the ROM and see what happens.
If you need help understanding all that, you can ask in the forum linked below.

I hope this helps, good luck.

No, those are the normal wipes, I'm talking about the format options. Which recovery do you have? CWM or TWRP?
If CWM, boot to CWM, then choose the mounts and storage option in recovery, in that menu you will see the option to format partitions, format system and data partitions, don't format any other partitions or you'll cause more problems. After they are formatted go back to main menu in recovery then continue into flashing your ROM and Gapps. If it doesn't work after that then there are probably things like your modem or bootloader that need to be updated, if that is the case then it means you need to flash any stock updates that came after Jelly bean for your device(to flash stock updates you have to be unroofed and have an unmodified system partition) and then flash your custom ROM, but you need to check that because some devices can't be rooted after certain updates have been taken, it varies from device to device.
If you have TWRP then you'll see an option saying format or wipe in TWRP, choose that option and find where you wipe system and data(again, do not format any other partitions). Then after format is done go flash the ROM.
