Shortcut to "New SMS"?

Hi!
First post here.
I don't want the sms-functionality of TF3D active due to different reasons (prying eyes for example).
Is it possible to do: "create new sms" when i hold down the left soft-key?
Perhaps a ".exe" file for such a feature exists?
Other shortcuts perhaps?

Get a new bf/gf
- sorry for OT, I don't know of any shortcuts.

soundie, I used HDTweak to change the left soft-key option from 'Phone' to 'New SMS', so now I can start a new SMS with a single tap from the home screen.

Here's my solution:
Make a new .txt file and in it write:
44#\Windows\tmail.exe -service "SMS" -to ""
rename this file to New SMS.lnk (i.e. change the extension to .lnk)
Copy this link file to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs
Select the New SMS "application" to one of your buttons in Settings>Personal>Buttons.

Check out the start menu customisation link in my signature. Obviously you might not want to use those icons but hopefully it will help you identify how to change an icon.
By the way, I am just about to release a new icon set for start menu and ROM icons customisation so will notify you about that.

Thanx but your customization is too complex (i'm afraid of files named DLL) & its for folders...
i found solution, for program links & png icons need to set in registry
HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\PROGRAM NAME.lnk\Icon:\windows\ICON NAME.png

owner is missing

anyone help me .owner is missing i realy need that for some Resco program.thank's

Go to the People (contacts) app. There's an entry called 'me' at the top of the contacts list; it's like your personal business card. Fill in your details here and they're automatically used for the legacy 'owner info'.
Trust me, I've registered Resco Explorer perfectly fine this way.
There's a registry fix somewhere to get the old owner info screen back but, as you can see, you don't need it.

Same thing happened to me. You have to go to "Settings" - then "Menu" at the bottom right & choose "More" - "Private" --> "Owner info" --> "Alternatives" & uncheck the Identityinformation-box (dunno what it's called in english, running swedish menues on my phone).

Method 1 :
Fire up a Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner and remove the redirect.
(You can also remove redirects from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Buttons and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Input).
Method 2 :
Fire up a Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner and create a new DWord called “Hide” (without the quotes)
and set its value to 0. If you already have this, change the value from 1 to 0. Soft reset.
Method 3 :
If you don’t like playing with the Registry Keys
1.Go into Today settings, Items tab
2.Enable “Owner Info” while disabling others and tap OK.
3.Enter the Owner Info via the Today screen.
4.After you’re done, adjust back your Today settings accordingly.

Exclude Certain Songs/Tracks From HTC Music Player?

First off sorry for posting this here, It should probably be in the general section but the only people who seem to surf that section are people complaining about their leo.
So anyway, I was wondering if there was a way to do this, because I like my music to look nice and clean and tidy, however when Im ending up with little 3 seconds songs from an unknown artist called 01 , these will be all the sounds from the program files. I really want to remove them from my artist/all songs/album views.
Any ideas how?

I'd also like to know how to do this. It would be great to keep the htc music player just for music. Currently, it's cluttered with podcasts.

Well would that make any difference, because if thats the original path (my documents) then obviously it doesnt make any difference as my music player seems to take music from all over my phone

what i did is that i used resco explorer and folders i do not want to show up in music tab a have simply set them as "Hiden" and manila is not scaning those folders anymore.

this worked as well using total commander.

don't get it!
if i "hide" it the folder will be also hidden for choosing the ringtones so yes, no more ringtones on the music tab but also you'll not find them when you'll want to designate the rings to notifications....

the best way is to make HTC album ignore some folders. Do the following:
Go to HKLM/Software/HTC/HTCAlbum/Ignore
and add a sting value with a name (choose whatever you want) and string (here you put the location of a particular folder)
So if I want HTC album to ignore My Music folder on my Storage card, I will add a new string value: name-My Music and string-\Storage Card\My Music
and of course soft-reset after that

an interesting fact: if i am on the music tab in portrait mode i see all the unwanted files (even sound files from my navigation program) but if i am looking in landscape mode i see only the music files. strange...

Finally searched al posts, couldn't find the right answer, tried every trick but no succes and didn't want to hide my ringtones folder.....
Here's what i did and found:

I couldn't get it to work I installed a game in memory card but the sound files are coming up in HTC music player. Can someone explain to me in detail how not to have music player detect these files? BTW, I have resco explorer installed. Thank you.

i used to have my rings in my SD under my Documents. moving them under a separate folder on SD or on SD under My Documents make them undiscoverable by the system for use as ringtones and notifications but i still can see them in the Album tab.
also, i am still curious why if i am on the music tab in portrait mode i see all the unwanted files (even sound files from my navigation program) but if i am looking in landscape mode i see only the music files.

For all who don't want to mess with there registry, resco works!. Just go into resco explorer, find the folder, long press it, properties, dark check hidden, soft reset......... And all those files not wanted are hidden and not in your album anymore. yes all my ringtones are there. Just hide the folders you dont want to showup in your sense album/music tab.

Hide/Show Sim Contacts Htc HD2

Simple solution:
-CeRegEditor (it's FREE) install it on your computer.
-Connect your hd2 IN ACTIVE SYNC MODE and WAIT until it appears.
-Run CeRegEditor and go to Hkey_Current_User\Control Panel\Phone
-Create a BINARY key ShowSim (right click Ad new binary key..) and set the value to 0 to disable and 1 to enable.

Ummm...there's already an option for this in the standard manila people options.
People Tab > A'll contacts > menu > view > and you can choose "All", "Contcts" or "SIM".
So if you want conatcts without SIM contacts, just choose "contacts".

exactly! I'm running NRG Energy CHT that has bsb tweaks, but that changes them only on the contact list inside the start menu, it does nothing on the all people/people tab. It still shows doubles.
on some of my previous devices like excalibur and kaiser, there was a simshowhide app, actually it was more of an .exe, 'cause all you did was click on it and they would either show or disappear, but I haven't found another way for this.

wow, I can't believe it was something so simple and I overlooked it, I feel like a dumb ass, I usually play with my phone for a while after flashing to find all the features, but I haven't had much time in the 3 days that I've had my hd2, thank you very much for pointing that out.

Yes you are correct. This does hide the sim contacts in the people tab. But it does not hide the sim contacts in the sms tab. I have been looking to hide them here but have been unable to do so.

I know its there but it is always resetting itself and I want to not always have to pick it all the time more of a automatic permanent. So is there a better reg edit then BINARY key ShowSim that just shows ALL CALLS instead of contacts in the phone call section.

this is what im trying to do.
phone is set to CONTACTS only already but when I go write a new msg and pick a name it shows the name twice. 2 choices for same name is for contact and sim. gay.

If you want to automate this settings (lets say through XDA_UC) change/create the following registry keys

Help...problem with setting link!

Hi guys, i didn't find a solution.
I have disabled for mistake the TouchFlow3D form Today setting. I didn't have the setting link from start menu (from start menu i can only open programs and explore folder) and without touch flow i can't go to setting and reactivate the TF3D. How can i put setting link using explore folder?

The last 2 entries in the displayed list will say "Programs" and "Settings" - you need to click on "Settings"

There are 2 tabs in this screen - "Appearance" and "Items" - you need "items"
A sorted list of the "Plugins" available in the today screen are listed. You need to tick the one called "TouchFLO 3D

hanks, but if I had setting button I did not make the thread....I don't have setting button so i can't go to "today"! help me...how can i enter in Setting across Explore folder???

I can't understand why your settings menu would disappear - is it possible the language on the phone is displaying "settings" as some other word?
Anyway, there are many other ways to go into "Settings" - here is just one option:
Install mortbuttons from http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=page&entry=mb_overview&action=view&menu=14
Use your file explorer to go to \windows\Start Menu\Programs\Mortbuttons
Run the file "Settings (MB).lnk"
Select the "Today" icon and then use the instructions in my above post to switch TouchFLO on.
Can I say that for a guy with just 3 posts, I think the tone of your posts is a little agressive considering you are asking people to give freely of their time to help you. I was going to ignore your response, but am giving you the benefit of the doubt because of possible language misinterpretations.
