As title, we need votes & comments on the Layar feedback forum as to pressure Layar into supporting Windows Mobile.
Please take a few moments to vote and maybe leave some comments.
Cheers

** Would be great if we could maybe get a comment on there from an admin of xda-dev **
Done mate, Thanks.
Fantastic, thanks. Votes are rocketing since I posted this. Just shows the power of the forum.
Lets hope they listen.
Looks good, I voted.
Gave 3 votes!

Great voting. Keep it up & we'll have a Layar app before we know it!!!
Voted but I think they would need HTC to release a Compass API
Then we should all vow to hail HTC with a volley of e-mails demanding they get their act together. I've just about had enough of HTC now, Not giving developers the tools they need and thus restricting our devices.
I have e-mailed HTC and politely asked them to pull their fingers out!
Get typing everone!! Lets hope we can make a difference.
why are there 10 votes left, everytime i go on the site?

Did you register? I think guests can vote but I'm not sure if they get the same attention as votes from registered people.
If your IP address changes it thinks you are a new guest and lets you vote again.
I think!
Yep, I registered. And now there are 7 votes left!
ah no, nonsense, these are your personal votes! You can only vote 10 points in total for all ideas.
Yes! I just added 3 votes!
done!
I hope they'll port il to wimo!
Wow, the votes are climbing. Good Work.
Is it right though, that even if layar wanted to make the app, they can't because HTC withhold drivers meaning layar can't access the digital compass etc.
Forget the drivers, those can be hacked/reverse engineered if need be. Money is what matters. When/if HTC sells millions of devices with digital compass hardware developers will consider it.

I have to agree that he has long experience. But I still did not understand the catch why the Iphone suppose to be better then WM????
I fully agree that Iphone has shown in design of graphical control of a device MS has long way to improve. But from the technical pointview it is obvious that Iphone is fare away from current WM device capability's
However said that I think anyone of us can be happy that a competition to current WM devices came up and force such companies Like HTC to invent such devices like HTC Touch. It shows Those guys can do even better.
Call me ignorant But I still don't understand Why some would pay more then 500Euro for a device that has nice looking 10 icon shortcuts on today screen, but technically it can only do 20-30% what is a WM6 device currently able to do
Simple answer - Eye Candy - it's what sells Macs and Ipods really, isn't it?
They are not necessarily the best at anything they do, but they tend to look the best!

At just under 6500 words in his first post, and with 206 comments since September 16th, perhaps it's us who should be joining him. Of course he may well be posting here - not as Stephen Fry of course - although come to think of it who would believe someone posting as Stephen Fry really was Stephen Fry anyway? ...
I agree with Bulldog though. Thanks to Stephen's sober review I now know that the so vaunted iPhone can hardly do anything that my beloved 5-year old Wallaby can't!
i know this is not the place for this, i dont even know why am i doing this, but i felt the need to say it: as imperfect as it is, with all our noobs, experienced users, rom cooking just for the fun of it, donations (hell, smb was willing to donate even a whole kaiser!!), advices for free, fun all around, helpful persons willing to help just because we share a common passion...
... all these mean so much to me and in my eyes they are a lot more beautiful than the world we see everyday.
dont know exactly why i had to say this, but please go on and keep it as such. also, thanks to all of you for putting your little brick at the foundation of a beautiful building!
as smb was saying in another post, love is in the air... maybe its the spring...
Although it's a bit twee, I have to agree.
The concept of developers & users sharing ideas and code and actually HELPING each other in return for donations to the level you can afford is a fantastic concept - and one that Microsoft would do well to learn from (amongst others).
The end result is everyone is MUCH happier and the product is much better. The only problem is I suspect nobody on here could make a living from it...
I'm feeling all teary eyed now. But you guys & gals are right. Group hug.
Let's all sing together now.
Koom By Ya...... why am I the only one singing?
Sorry....
I was too busy reaching for the kleenex box
hehe... bunch of nerds... really!!... get all hot and flustered at the idea of a new rom or some cab file... it's so sweet...
isn't there a restaurant in London with no prices on the menu but where patrons pay what they believe the meal is worth? Remember hearing about it years ago. Wonder if they still in business.
Yeah there are some talented cooks/programmers on this site. It's a wonderful site for owners of pda's looking for a little doctoring of their phones and I wish xda-developers.com all the best in the future...

i must say its very touching what u wrote and very true. even though i am new to xda being here has truly been a wonderful experience.
The amount of knowledge is truly monumental.
now on singing kombaya i need some body to give me a beat ...
its not even about money or anything, its about people. just hearing that laurentius spent one whole day (9am - 12pm) to tweak a new rom for us, for you, for anybody, made me think that passion is everything, or anyway a lot more than what people are forced to do for a living.
ive been reading this forum for over 2 years now and remember a lot of things, funny posts, things that, together with the great pieces of software developed, made my day now and then. thank ya all for this!
as you say, this is a silly thread and should under no circumstances stay especially here under the rom development section. kyphur, related to a discussion from laurentius new diamond rom thread, feel free to delete all these.

as most of you probably, i am user on different forums as well. although some amount of flaming is present here as well, it is under no circumstances comparable to things happening on other sites and im grateful to all of you for this.
maybe we should have the national hymn of xdadev, for example Kombaya, somewhere to be downloaded or at least to be visible.
Me too!
Just wanted to add my agreement and appreciation for all that is offered from xda and the people that make it all work. A heart felt "Thank you very much!"
Delete this thread? NEVER...
I'll just move it to someplace more appropriate (but I did leave a perm redirect so it's always hooked to Kaiser Rom Dev)...
True, true... To be honest the only reason I keep buying HTC devices is xda-developers community Although HTC with their support and behavior is trying really hard to persuade me from these decisions on buying new HTC hardware )

Agreed, if I were head of marketing for HTC I would pay Dutty (amongst others) to continue cooking roms for our devices.
OMG, sensitive nerds! *turns around and sneaks away*
Just to also add few thoughts on this forum.
This year I bought my first ever PDA, and had to go to considerable trouble to have it delivered here. In a country where the concept of customer support is not yet in existence, and with thousand noob questions, this forum has provided all the help that I needed. So, this forum means a lot to people like me who have no access to official customer support services or other facilities available elsewhere.
My only regret is that as yet, I am unable to more actively contribute to the great community here.
Thanks XDA developers and keep it up.

hello everybody
I search this software for windows mobile, can you help me please
Tell me when you found it...this a nice app!!
it exists for the iphone but I have not yet found for windows mobile
we need this program STAT!!!!.....I know i'm not the only DJ/producer on here.....
I have an old app that works on WM 6.1 called SSEYO MiniMixa. It was made by Tao Group. The company has been sold to Intermorphic Ltd and they are reworking MiniMixa and re-branding it Mixtikl and you can find info about it here. I read in there blog that they are trying for an October release date.
Link to Mixtikl -> http://www.intermorphic.com/tools/mixtikl/index.html
Be sure and check out the screen shots.
Looks like it could blow the lid off Beat Maker. Guess we'll see.

Personally, I think this is the best audio/midi sequencer for the ppc.
PM me If you'd like lepsyfou. I have a special link to that software
Anything else out there that is more current? Mixtikl seems to be in Beta at the moment and the other programs are clearly on there last legs or lack a true VGA skin.
This seems to be where new Winmo devices should shine outside of the capacitive touch and screen size of the IP.. That Iphone is churning out some cool tools, but the hardware is approaching its limits where our phones have room to grow (tabbed programs, RAM, memory, storage)...
I'm gonna throw my 2 cents in for what it's worth...

Neither one of them are great, that's why I'm looking for something better. If you have anything let me know too! =)
Tried the game "Tiny Wings" on a friends iPhone, absolutely loved it. As I sadly found out though, the developer has no plans to port it over to Android in the near future. Therfore I was wondering if any of you guys would be able to make this happen, as I know a lot of you know how to develop stuff, and are ectremely talented.
Hope you can make this happen

Haha, word! You can see me and him flaming at eachother. Especially lol when he says that appstore is more profitable, even when i link him to an article where it says that market is more profitable for developers during the first weeks of the game If you look at his account, you can see that he (vastedcouth) spends all of his time on youtube hating on android, what a tool)
I messaged the dev and he said it should be out today, so keep checking the market

I take no credit for this app what so ever, just want to share it
Hi guys.
A lot of developers that create some apps are having a problem of advertising them and getting feedback from users (me included). So I think we should help each other by installing, testing, rating and reviewing each other's apps. So any one of you who have their app (with small number of downloads) post it here (google play link) and I will try it and publish a rating and a comment on Google Play.
I don't ask you to do the same and I will do it whether you try my application or not. If you do the same I will be very grateful.
Link to my app: Quote Box v1.1
Thank you.
P.S. You'll get your rating and review as soon as I see it here.
I've released my first app on the market called Select Who? It's an alternative to who draws the shortest straw, coin toss, rolling the dice and spin the bottle.
Everybody puts their finger on the screen and the app will then select one of these at random.
I apologise ahead of time about the adverts I know they are a bit intrusive, I'm trying to think of an alternative.
I would love to get some honest feedback from you about it and any improvements I can make.
Select Who?
I think this thread is a great idea.
I actually run an Android YouTube channel and blog site.
Although i might not be interested in every app idea that may come to this thread, i am more than willing to look at every app and possibly do a great review on it on my channel and site.
In fact i have developers email me all the time to review their apps.
Mostly because it has increased download numbers and a few have reported up to 40% increases in sales the day i post my reviews =)
But i am pretty particular about the app's that i review for my viewers. So don't be offended if i don't review your app =)
You can either email me at [email protected], send me a PM here on XDA or PM me on YouTube.
Good luck to all the dev's =)

Hey, I tried your app.
This is what I wrote: "It's very good idea but It only works for two finger for me. Fix that and I will give 5 stars."
Also maybe to work a little bit on a layout to attract more people, but if you fix "the fingers thing" I will give you 5 stars. Only two fingers recognized on my HTC Desire.
Cheers.

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately this is due to the desire not having true multitouch and only support dual-touch multitouch. I will work on the layout. And left you a review for you app as well
