Sorry to post in the Tornado forum guys, but I'm trying to solve a problem and I think only you guys can help me. I've got TomTom 5 installed on the Moto Q but after starting the program, the screen is oriented in portrait mode, however, the Q is natively in landscape.
Unfortunately, the displayed images are unreadable and just jumbled. I know that there is an option within TomTom to rotate the screen but without being able read the screens, its a practice in futility.
Can someone that has TomTom installed on their Tornado do me a favor. Can you walk me through the exact steps and button presses from the launch of the program to the rotate screen option. The button should look like an upside down smiley face.
I'm hoping that if I correctly hit the button sequence, the screen will rotate and that I'll be able to make the menus and program legible. Cheers.
I think I am going mad so forgive me.
Can someone help me to rotate the screen to landscape with the keyboard closed? IE. manually rotate the screen.
I can't seem to find the function anywhere.
or have I missed something?
Thanks.
Just rotate the device?!
This only works in certain apps, like picture etc.
I want the Home screen, and TT7 in Landscape when in the car, and turning the screen doesn't do anything.
Any help?
The Apps themselves need to support the Rotation of the phone by implementing a hook into the Accelerometer/G-Sensor.
Like said above, TouchFlo3D Pictures and Opera do this, but most other apps do not! Just need to wait for later versions or change to landscape mode manually - if supported!
Should be (although HTC may have removed it) in Start->Settings->System (tab)->Screen, and then change the orientation. It's possible HTC removed this functionality though...
I'm guessing that Mortscript will still work on the Touch.
You could use this to rotate the screen then call the app in question?
Then when you quit the app it'll rotate back.
I forgot the name of the app, but it allowed you to rotate the Diamond for any app or any situation in the phone. It should also be able to work on the Touch Pro then.
Its called GSen it works on diamond and probably it should work for this and if its not working just wait for new release.

They have removed this option, but you can bring it back with Schap's advanced config 3.0! I haven't tried it, but I've seen the option there!
Reg Edit to set Talk key to rotate screen manually
Here's a reg hack to manually rotate your screen, only when desired.
In Settings/Buttons/ one used to be able to assign a button to <Rotate Screen>. This feature is hidden on the Touch Pro.
To get it back:
Using a Registry editor, go to:
HKeyLocalMachine/System/GDI/Rotation
Change the "HideOrientationUI" from 1 to 0
Now you can remap the talk key to do this on long press.
Pocketpowermanager puts a little icon at the bottom of the Today screen which rotates the screen (and an icon for power off, and another for soft reset). It's a great application.
Hi there
Both Gens and Gyrator work well on the Touch Pro.
Just Bing them (at bing.com).
David
You can get an application called gyrator 2 which will allow you to rotate without sliding out the keyboard in any screen, so like you can use it in the start menu or anywhere else, http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=news&id=6068
hi, i can't seem to find keylock application that locks all hardware buttons but power when device is on sleep mode. have you got it on yours? i had it on my old tytn II
do you have a
settings->buttons->lock ?
no. have you? i've got only Program buttons, Up/Down Control and backlight tabs there
hmm...you mean setting up a lock to turn off all keys until you hit Unlock then confirm by tapping the key on the screen?
Press and hold the "End" button and that locks the device.
It is configured under start>setting>Long key press.
MIGHT NOT be the thing you are meaning though.
no, you know when you pres power button phone goes sleep mode? there should be a setting where you can decide if you want to allow other hardware buttons wake phone from sleep or other wise.
currently which ever hw button i press phone wakes up i.e send (green) button, terminate call (red button) or action (round) button.
this is no good when phone in your pocket. a small touch to any of them wakes phone up. i thought it is standart wm option as i had it since wizard
Hmm, when i power off the only thing which will power back on is pressing the power button, opening the keyboard or removing the stylus?
I've just got a touch pro and when I power off, no other buttons will wake up the phone.
That being said, I still have my Tytn II and the Key Lock application is found under Start...Settings...System...Key Lock. The Long Key Press app is not what you're after.
It seems strange that your Touch Pro wakes up on any button push. Maybe you need to change a registry setting instead?
wierd ; on mine apart from those, any button powers it up. only config tool i used is advanced confing and there isint any setting regarding this on that tool

do you know which key i should change?
On touch Pro there is no Keylock option in the settings.
Only way how to activate the device is to:
1. press power button
2. open the keyboard
3. take out the stylus
There is no config like on the HTC Touch/Diamond.
I've contacted Julien Schapman, vendor of advanced config and asked him to add this settings to his application.
this is his answer:
Ok I will look at it when I could get a Touch Pro.
Best regards,
Julien Schapman.
So I hope his new version will have this settings. This is really missing.
But maybe someone is able to export this registry path on the HTC Diamond:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\OEM\KEYBD
there should me something like
"KeyLock"=dword:1
Or maybe another. I don't know.

very cool app to unlock and lock the phone.
Tested and works on touch pro.
I'll be replacing S2U2 with this!

It should be in the \Windows directory:
\Windows\Keylock.lnk
\Windows\Keylock.exe
Create a shortcut in \Windows\Start Menu\Settings
I don't have this in my HD2 - any ideas if it can be installed seperately?
No idea as I have an at&t Fuze and this is a RAPH/TP/Fuze forum You might have better luck if you posted a link to this thread in the HD2 forum? Also, an alternative to s2u2, check THIS thread (QuickShutdown)

I haven't KeyLock in my ROM by default too, but I found it on another forum after many hours searching in the Internet
Unpack it and put enywhere (in example: "Windows" or "Program Files" and run).
Greetings.
Hi guys,
My problem. I'm not using the TF3D but installed SPB instead. However the question is that the screen only turns landscape when i open the key pad. Only app that it auto rotate is Opera.
It is very annoying that if i am reading news for example from a rss reader or something i have to open the key pad in order to read in landscape mode??
Is ther a fax or software which can solve my problem?
thanks everyone.
there are lots of apps that allow you to rotate a screen manually. apart from the auto rotate apps in the diamond forum, spb today plugins usually come with an item (through add item when adding an item to tab) that lets you change the screen oriention via a shortcut.
using something like aeplus can allow you to map a hardware button to screen rotation
Thanks friend
I want to DISABLE autorotate while slideout the keyboard (and map it to the button). Is that possible?
i'm pretty sure u can disable but I'm not sure where in the registery to change.... however, forcing rotation as I asked before I cannot do this way and I think I have to install something... but I'm not sure
I have enabled the AutoLock feature with Diamiond Tweaks, and it is working fine, but is there at way to set a time for autolock for exsamble 30 sek, when the device is on, now it is only working when i push the power buttom and turn off the screen or holding lock key down.

Have you tried S2U2 (Slide 2 Unlock 2)? It's freeware and you can get it here;
http://s2u2.ac-s2.com/
Then there is TouchLockPro, especially for the Topaz Here's the XDA thread;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=444215
Have fun
I'd like to know if there is a way to prevent Topaz from autolock on some occasions, e. g. when i have mobipocket on, i don't wanna my phone to autolock. Is it possible?
try this one
