I really don't have time to sit here and search through all the posts (yes I used the search function for the forums and it didn't help me at all , maybe I searched wrong) to figure out how to change the rom on my phone... I have downloaded one to my computer, but now I am stuck and don't know what to do...
If you are going to be ignorant, don't bother posting. I'm looking for someone helpful. Thank you.

last time I looked in the wiki it didn't really seem all that helpful I'm a complete noob to this and so far have gotten no answers... just "go look and read" replies... how is that supposed to be helpful for someone who is completely new and makes it very obvious that they are completely new??? /endrant... GRRRR!!!
Wiki is updated ever day and it has a complete guide to help noobs to flash

Is their a section in this forum that is for beginners? When I say beginners I mean we know the basics about computers and what not, but when it comes to changing registry and tweaking up our HTC phone.
Like a guide on "how-to's" on everything and anything we probably would want to do or just the major stuff. That would be great because searching through the forum for other questions that were solved is a hassle. Sometimes I can't find anything then you would have to post it and members would come back to flame you because you didn't search when you actually did.
If their is a section could someone please post the link.

HardSPL is not an OS. Hard SPL will allow you to install custom Roms. The OS will be Windows Mobile. duh.
Also don't bother with Android since you lack patience with reading and searching.
Everything you need to know is in the wiki and the sticky at the top of the page.
Unfortunately ( for you ) this is Xda-developers, not " I want to be cool like the other guys , but I lack the patience to read and understand " forum. Thousands of people here have read reread and reread the sticky and have put in the time to understand the process and no one here is going to do it for you. If you don't understand the simple process then leav your phone alone or you will brick it.
At the very least, this post does not belong in the development section, it belongs in the " I'm a noob help me make my phone cool " section. Then read, go through the process and post in the " flashing for noobs " thread, specific questions on where in the process you got stuck, and someone there will answer specific questions.
As others state read the sticky, wiki etc and use the resources already provided for you.....

I am somewhat new to xda forums and Im glad to be here.
I wanted to ask for some help regarding developing android applications and programs, as I am somewhat lost in the beginning stages of the process. I havent successfully downloaded the correct programs in order to begin so I guess if someone could help in that regard. However more importantly I would like to know if there is anyone who would be willing to be my official dev. trainer/tutor to teach me the basics so that I can actually have a chance at developing something.
I know ive seen a no noobs section so I know pros must be looking at my post like "just another noob". But I am really interested in learning and I would appreciate someones help and guidance. Thanks and I hope someone decides to help.

Your not in the wrong section, its just that you wont find much help here, and you may want to change the title to developing

I have an HTC Desire S, and I made the bigest mistake to upgrade to 4.0.4 via RUU.
I just want to downgrade to 2.3.5 with htc sense 3.0 withouth losing my warranty if that is possible !
Please tell me how I can do this and please behave this topic as a beginner person with no knowledge in this kind of operations !
I thank you in advance and hope to receive as many as possible answers that could help me to solve this problem.
P.S. I am from Romania. If someone around here knows the language, we can also speak in private.

Why can people not READ!!!!! This is a QUESTION - don't post it in the DEVELOPMENT forums That's why we have a Q&A forum.
Is it really that difficult for people to understand the basics? Also, learn to search. The question you have asked has been answered too many times to count - so please, go and read the stickies, use the search function and then you will, hopefully, understand what you need to do without us having to repeat what has been said many, many times before.
This is the kind of response that I did not expected to receive. If u know the basics, and if u are very good at this, help others too do not try to give them ethics lessons.

I pointed out to you that you posted in the wrong place - Dev forum is for DEVELOPMENT work, not for people to ask questions.
I also pointed out that you should search first. Believe me, your exact question has been answered before - you are not the first person to ask this.
There is no point simply telling you the answers because then you won't understand what, why or where and if something goes wrong you will be lost. Much better to read, learn and understand exactly what you are doing and why.
Actually, simonTS is right.
Don't expect help, when you are incompliant to read forum rules.
This section is dedicated to custom roms etc.
Check other forums sections. There is plenty of stuff about downgradeing.

hello, I am a new member. I have a couple questions about rooting my phone and the basics. I understand how to root a phone I have done several so far, but my last phone got bricked because I know nothing about recovery. I am searching for a tutorial on the bare basics of reading, recovery, roms, and kernels. Basically a tutorial explaining what they are and how / why to do them. That is for a Samsung device, so not all info will apply to your device. But reading through some threads in the first link I gave you should help enlighten you. :good:
