Hi all,
I have an HTC AT&T Fuze unlocked and currently using it in Australia. I would like to get rid of everything AT&T in this phone. How would I be able to load a fresh Windows 6.1 from scratch without all the AT&T bits and be able to use the GPS function in Australia.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
I suggest you go though this whole thread to learn a ton of things about the fuze.

check beat the bloat for the answer to your question. next time use the search forum function, plenty of people here have asked this question and had it answered a hundred times over.
Hard reset the device, before the device finished with the secondary (user custimizations) updates, do a soft reset so it cant load the bloatware. You may need to load some specific settings for your carrier.
HTC Touch Pro T7272 slideout keyboard problems
Hi, I just bought this second hand HTC Touch Pro T7272 running on Windows 6.5 and I need your help.
i just tried for the first time using the slide out keyboard and the keys don't work the way they supposed to be and it seems it's a different layout.
when i press 1, it goes to the top menu, just like when you press the windows key
when i press 2, displays @
when i press 3, displays _
when i press 4, displays !
when i press 5, displays (
all other numbers display a different character.
when i press FN, it displays the calendar.
when i press CAPS, the FN lights up
when i press TAB, the CAPS lights up
i just want to know if this has to do with software or the hardware is screwed.
if it's a software issue, is there a fix for it?
here's some software info:
OS Version 5.2.21889 (21889.50.0.87)
Manila version 2.1.19202517
ROM version 27.Jan.2010 WWE
ROM date 11/21/09
Radio version 1.08.25.20
Protocol version 54.44.25.24H
Thank you very much.

It sounds like you have a Touch Pro and the keys are set to the AT&T Fuze key layout. I don't know what ROM you have on it, but if its anything like the Energy ROMs there should be a program in the Start>Tools>Keyboard Selector. You want to have the Thouch Pro Keyboard selected.

I just flashed my HTC Touch Pro with the latest generic HTC ROM (5.05.405.1 WWE, 03/04/09, radio version 1.11.25.01, protocol version 52.58.25.30U) with the aid of a friend as I'm new to the whole flashing bit, and now I can't lock my screen. Long press end key now just flashes the screen black for a second then goes back to being unlocked. The same thing happens if I configure long press end to pop up a list, and then select lock from there.
Help?
s2u2......
Thanks for the suggestion, and it's definitely not a bad workaround... I was just hoping that someone would have a fix so I can quickly lock it with the button again.
I had the same problem. You can use Spb Mobile Shell. It has a part program name 'Lock Device'
Me too with the new ROM.
But I noticed it after I installed lots of software.
However, if I disable the TF3D and enable the device lock from setting>today, I still able to lock the device from the screen.
Wonder is it:
1) Problem with TF3D in new ROM
2) Software incompatibility causing "long press end key" unable to lock
I use search for the keylock but can't find.
Any genius to help out? Thanx...
Same problem here. With the new ROM it's not locking anymore as it was first possible. I dont want to use another software, this should work!
Okayy ive got a problem with my htc touch pro keyboard.
I had just brought my touch pro (brand new) recently and i have been looking all over the internet trying to find a solution to my problem. .
My hardware keyboard is all wrong, the letters are fine, but its the numbers i am having a problem with.
for example, when i press number "1" it will bring up the start menu, when i press number "2" the "@" symbol will come up, when i press number "3" the underscore symbol will come up. and so on.
I had looked at every single setting on the device and no luck.
. i was really disappointed and i couldnt do anything about it.
Could anyone please help me.
Thanks In Advance

Not a developmental question nor saphire, thread moved
Install this cab and select touch pro keyboard, sounds like yours is set for a Fuze keyboard.

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my Fuze when I try mapping a specific key in a program and it doesn't sense the proper key that I pressed. I noticed this in a couple of programs (not just games) so I downloaded a bunch of games just to test this out. In almost all games, I noticed that the arrow keys and some of the special keys are mappable, but all the alphabet keys are not. No matter which one I choose, none of the game or programs recognize the difference in keys. They either don't see em or give them the same Key ID.
Worse yet, the mappable special keys still launch programs in the background killing whatever I am doing. This is infinitely annoying. I did not flash a custom ROM. I am using the latest HTC FUZE rom from their website. The only thing I did different was I soft reset during ROM loading to kill the bloatware. Everything else runs correctly. It's not a hardware problem; all my text are fine; no issues with the FUZE seeing the different key strokes. I have no issues texting. It definitely seems like the Fuze keeps the same key ID for all of the same types of keys allowing them not to be mapped.
Is this a problem with the ROM (HTC May 2009)? Would using NRG latest ROM fix this? Should I go back to AT&T's latest ROM (AT&T April 2009 I think)? Please anyone that knows about this please let me know if you are experiencing this and how to fix. Thank you.
I am sorry if this is not the right place or if I am not posting in the right section, but I searched this forum/internet for hours and I am totally out of ideas. I downloaded a couple of programs, but they only changed the layout to flash non-Fuze ROMS etc. This is one of my first posts, so I apologize. This site is awesome.
Thanks,
nwdst
More info
I have looked into the wiki a bit before, but I dove back in so I can't be blamed for not reading it. I noticed the following two under tips:
#1
Keyboard Patch (For users with an AT&T Fuze)
File Can be found Here
#2
Start Menu and OK Buttons on the H/W Keyboard
If you would like to add custom keys (including Start and OK buttons) see here for customizing the Touch Pro Keyboard: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424905 (Post #7 and #12)
For #1, what does the patch do? When I click on it it gives me the cab; but I don't know anything more about. What is the "Patch"?
For #2, I understand that you can map the the OK and start keys, but do I need to remap every key on the board? I still want the keys to do what they do just not when I run a certain program. Can a program do this for me?
1. The patch fixes a non AT&T TouchPro keyboard to function on an AT&T Fuze as they have different mappings.
2. Hardware keys can be mapped but not for specific functions within specific programs.
Thanks
Ok. I will not install the patch.
I understand that you can remap keys but I still don't understand why the key ID under most programs still remains the same for all alpha characters on my keyboard. Is this the same case for anyone with a cooked or At&t rom? I have latest HTC Rom.
Guys, since several versions of (mainly Energy) Roms (with Manila 2.1 as well as with 2.5) I have this problem: When I press the left phone button the phone does nothing instead of jumping into the phone mode. I need to switch it of (display switch on top of the phone) and on again, then it mostly works. Also the home button and the back button often scroll through the tabs instead of jumping directly to the home screen or ... Anybody else with this issue or - even better - with a solution?

I have been having exactly the same problem for a few months. I was first thinking a hardware problem, perhaps the button contacts got munged (too much kevtris?). But it is very intermittent. Sometimes the problem lasts for a day, other times just a few minutes. Summary of intermittent problems:
Home button non-responsive. When running an app or in Sense/Manila/TouchFlo, pressing home does nothing.
Home button switches to the left Sense tab when in Sense. When viewing email, switches to a different email account. [Obviously being interpreted as a left-arrow.]
Back button non-responsive. When running an app, pressing back does nothing. Which makes it more difficult to navigate around.
Short-press send button non-responsive. Doesn't display dialer either when trying to start a new call, or returning to the dialer in a call.
Long-press send button non-responsive. Mapped to my task manager so should start that.
Possibly related - When reading emails zooming text size using the scroll wheel only works about half the time.
The PTT, volume, and power buttons always work fine.
I haven't noticed whether sleep/unsleep (short-press power button) helps.
Soft-reset sometimes helps, not always.
I don't hard-reset unless upgrading the ROM; this has survived across three different versions of EnergyROM.
I have had my phone since Nov 2008 and it was free, so I figure I got my money's worth.

To orkan95: I have exact same problem as you: the "Answer", "Back", "Home" buttons sometimes scroll through different tabs, what's even worse for me is that when I open some item list (e.g. Emails, RSS ), it automatically scrolls up and down randomly (my finger wasn't even touch the phone) .
This has been a very annoying problem since Day 1 I had flashed my HTC Touch Pro with custom roms. I had been googling for a solution for this issue for several months now and no luck at all and would really appreciate if any experts in this forum could answer to this issue. Thanks!
FYI, I personally don't think it's the hardware's problem as it worked well with the original official Rom (6.1). The problem only emerged when I flashed with any Custom Roms.
Im a noob to this and i having problems with my htc touch pro
i wanted to make the phone faster by flashing the rom
and so i did.
i stall first the Hard-SPL
and then after that i installed the DCS-Touch Pro rom
and everything seem to to be good
except when i started typing a text using the full slide keyboard
i notice that the windows key at the top no longer works. if i press it (1)
outputs . if i press the normal (?) key...(/) comes out instead
can anyone tell me please whats wrong !!
Your keys are probably mapped to another TP variant because of the ROM. Find the correct mapping, try using Advanced Config or look here.
apparently i flashed it with a french rom
now i dont know how to put the keyboard back to normal english keys

Have you try to use Keyboard Selector?try to change to Touch Pro
