Hi,
I have just the otherday managed to upgrade my HTC Touch to an actual official WM6.1 OS supplied by HTC (belive it or not!). Since I bought the phone in Bangkok I have had to wait for the relese of the HTC Thailand upgrade.
It included the ThouchFLO 2d (which I recon sux....can't change a thing about it), but I really liked the big clock in wm6.0. Is there a way to download a file somewhere to get the clock (a clock) to show up at the "settings/today/items"?
I have had a look at the Throttle launcher, M2D but can't really get any of them to work properly....anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
/F
my device:
HTC Touch P3452 ELF0100, WM6.1 CE OS 5.2.19972 (build 19972.1.2.7)
ROM 3.07.707.02 WWE, 10/25/08
Radio 03.34.90
Not sure what you mean about big clock but do a search for HTC Home plug-in (I think the latest cab is version 2.1) and see if that is what you are after. Otherwise, have you tried the Manila 2D customizer tool (M2DC)? I don't know if it works on shipped roms TF2D but it might let you change certain aspects of TF2D.
Good luck
Hi,
Yes sorry for being a bit unclear....what I ment was ofcourse the digital clock display at the HTC Default Home screen. I have tried the HTC Home plug-in but it, as for so many others (feedback) freezes and forces me to hard reset.
The problem occurs when I turn off the Touchflo 2D in favour of other themes, I get no option to display a clock on the today screen (under items to display). Hence downloaded themes comes out as plain as can be without anything but a background, start and bottom bar.
I would like to have a digital clock display as for the previous HTC Default Home screen....or similar clock at least.
I read somewhere that you could display/hide the clock by changing registry values under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\CHome\CClock, Disabled to 0, as per this website. I have chacked in that location but found no such registry value named cclock.
Staring to think I might be actually a bit stupid for missing something very simple.....you never know until someone tells you!
I hope I made myself a bit more clear...

Well it sounds like you know what you are doing so I don't want to sound too "teachy". But what you are doing in the Item screen is turning off a Today plug-in (TF2D). AFAIK, everything that would appear on the Today screen is displayed as a plug-in. Your rom opted to show the TF2D plug-in. This plug-in overrides all others in the item screen so in order to use another plug-in, you must uncheck the TF2D plug-in. So with no plug-ins selected, you will have a blank Today screen.
There are several plug-ins you can install as alternatives to TF2D such as HTC Home, RLToday, etc. Just query Today plug-ins. Once installed you can initialise them from the Items screen. It is a little worrying that HTC Home crashes on your device. You might try a soft reset (small hole, poke with stylus) or uninstall it and reinstall it. It might be that you've run out of Program memory (Settings-->System--Memory). A soft reset will free it up again. I hope some of this is helpful.
SetSIP 1.1
Changing SIP (software keyboard) type is both cumbersome (that small finger unfriendly arrow near the SIP icon) and slow (the selection menu does not popup for a noticeable time). Worse on Topaz (Diamond 2) the menu has 2 levels: one for select between Touch Input full QWERTY and Phone Keypad and one for select other SIP types.
SetSIP allow to change the SIP, including the two Touch Input layouts from a shortcut.
Requirements and compatibility
SetSIP was developed for HTC Topaz (Diamond 2) with WM6.1 and requires Compact Framework 2 or above. It should work on many other phones but the test is up to you. Touch Input layouts selection make sense only on phones with Touch Input / EzInput.
Install
Run SetSIP.cab and install in main memory.
Uninstall
Use Remove Programs in Settings.
Shortcuts creation
Installation copies two files in your phone, SetSIP.exe and SetSIPShortcut.exe and adds a shortcut named "SetSIP Create Shortcuts" to Programs. SetSIP.exe is the actual utility that changes the SIP as specified by command line parameters inside shortcuts. Creating the shortcuts manually is possible but cumbersome (see ReadMe.txt for details). Therefore, the SetSIPShortcut.exe utility scans your phone for all the installed SIPs and creates shortcuts for all of them. For Touch Input / EzInput SIP it creates shortcuts for all the layouts.
To create the shortcuts go to Programs and tap "SetSIP Create Shortcuts". After a while a popup dialog will inform you of the program termination and of the name of the directory where the created shortcuts are.

V1.1 posted, with utility to create shortcuts for all installed SIPs.
Thanks for the app Oruam. Very useful. I'm surprised there aren't more posts here as I would have thought this was useful to more people.

Oh well, browsing the forum the relation between application usefulness and success appears misterious indeed
At any rate, the small applications I coded it was only because I could not find a ready made solution to a problem I had (It's not my job and I'm lazy after all ). After that, sharing them with anyother who could have perceived the same problem seemed rational.
Worked for me with Sprint MR1 ROM and 6.5
Thanks for posting these SIP shortcuts. Your shortcuts worked for me after installing the Sprint MR1 ROM update which includes Windows Mobile 6.5. One suggested improvement is to permit removal of the shortcut creation icon after it initially runs.
To make it faster and easier to switch SIP modes, I used Tarkim's Keyboard Config tool to launch the Block Recognizer SIP shortcut. I mapped it as a double-click on the back button. Then I can use the built in HTC input to switch back to QWERTY mode if I need it.
I also called to complain to Sprint and they in turn contacted HTC while I was on the telephone. Someone named Beth at HTC confirmed that these recognizers were left out of the updated Touch Input modules on purpose and that they not disclose that this was part of the upgrade. [email protected]#!#[email protected]@!. Nice way that have of saying thanks to their customers who purchased one of the most expensive phones on the market.
Work for me also. Currently running a HTC TP2 with Energy ROM Version Energy.RHODIUM.21898.Sense2.5.Apr.09 for anyone else who is out there browsing the forum.
Copied the Letter Recognizer shortcut from \Program Files\SetSIP folder into the \Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder, after installing the CAB and tapping the Set SIP Shortcuts.
From now on it's one click and good to go.
Thanks a lot oruam57

Thank you very much! This excellent app works on my HTC Artemis P3300 O2 xda Orbit running Harrycaine's WM6.5. I was stuck with default Ezinput 2.1 but your app allows me to switch keyboards very easily. Cheers

Will a newer version of Touch Flo 3D allow me to add other Today plugins to the Today screen such as Tasks, Visual VM , etc? I am running version 2.1 (touch pro 2) and it doesn't look like it allows it, does this work with the newer versions?
If you mean normal MS today screen plugins, then no. However, a third party application called secondtoday can do that for you
http://www.chi-tai.info/cs_wm_tools_im_cs.htm#SecondToday
Also i used something else called TFdetacher a while back that didn't work to well for me, but may have improved.
I would like to run both HTC Sense and Spb Mobile Shell, but no matter what I do, they just do not work together or coexist. Before, I used to to run both application with MSToggler and SecondToday.
I have written to Spb and apparently they are working on other projects...
Is there any solution to this?
Thanks,
I run SPB 3.5, and indeed it doesn't work together. Sense is being inactivated as you install SPB. But you can access quite a few HTC apps still. Just by looking for them in the windows map on your device, you can also manually add shortcuts to them in SPB.
Examples of apps that do work:
- Albums
- Camera
- Video camera
- Footcam (of the footprints suite, though this doesn't work completely well...)
- Facebook
- Twitter
Apps that do not work:
- Footprints
- Audio manager
I just use different software for audio, footprints I won't use at least in the near future.

You mast install Today Switcher v.2 or Shell Switcher v1.0.5 (can found on 4PDA.ru)!!!
This is switchers for Sence and SPB Shell.
For some reason I do not want to go!
Hi everyone I'm new to XDA.
Have just purchased a HTC HD2 running spb Mobile Shell 3.5 and have downloaded a Zoom application as I have a severe vision impairment.
I have 2 questions.....
1. I was under the impression that MS had included a magnifier in WM6.5.3 but I cannot find it anywhere (or is it specific to particular applications).
2. I don't seem to able to assign the zoom function to any of the hardware buttons as the buttons don't seem to be configurable on the HD2. Is there a way I can work around this???
Thanks
Welcome to the forums!
In most of the Roms, the magnifier has been removed, because it was still not working right (much bugs)
To get the magnifier back, switch “HKLM/Software/HTC/TextSelection/EnableMagnifier” from 0 to 1
Let me know if you don't know what to do, then I'll make a cab for you.
As far as I know, there is no application out yet that lets you assign the buttons to a program.
Cheers,
EC
