hi all,
my T-Mobile Vario 3 has a damaged pin or something on the mini USB port and so i can't sync it with ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center, but it charges fine so i've never bothered looking into getting it repaired since i can sync with Exchange etc no probs over 3G.
does anyone know if it's possible to SIM unlock the phone without using the USB connection at all?
thanks,
Wes
nope, not unless you pay (i think it can still be done).
I had a MDA Compact III, which i managed to damage the USB board by charging in the car, which meant that could not sync, but would charge, never managed to unlock it.

don't mean to sound repeatative but who is your carrier? and if the phone is branded by them than they can provide you with the sim unlock code.
hope this helps.

so I have posted to this board a few times before but its been a while. I am currently working on a sprint q9c to get it over to verizon. flashed it already but cant get cdma workshop or qpst to see it on the port. can connect to port but when I go to read the phone it says failed to respond or no phone. anyone know how to get qpst or cdma workshop to see the phone? tried a virtual port but no go.
on another note, talked to a tech supervisor at verizon today and she confirmed they will still add phones from other carriers if you can get the tower to pick it up. she said "not all phones and not all carriers". I cant get my phone to connect to the *228 for verizon to get it to send the ESN. again any ideas?
**UPDATE**
okay, updated PRL and the phone can now talk to the verizon network. just need to see if the esn will make into the system so I can add the device, if not I will have to try other measures.
helppppp!!!!!
I have searched and searched and searched, used google, ask, bing, everything. I just want to get my sprint q9c onto verizon. I have flashed the rom updated the prl and verizon says they will not add this phone. I am left with cloning the esn from my original Q to my Q9c. I have looked and searched everywhere for directions on how to do this and can find nothing. I have radiocomm, rsd lite, rsd general, unicdma, qpst, bitpim, cdma workshop, ceregedit, cdma universal and no directions on how to do the ESN change. I am pulling my hair out! I have been searching for 3 days for some info on how to do this. please help, I am begging someone....
Hi, I am trying to find a way to unlock my SIM-less HTC Touch to use it on the Cricket network. Cricket says they can do it for 75 bucks, but that really isnt a route I want to take. I have searched this and other forums for help or an answer but all I am coming across are answers for SIM unlocks.. Since my phone doesnt have or use a SIM card then I dont believe those options will work in my case.. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks
Hi,
is anybody was flashed Droid Charge to Boost Mobile, MetroPCS or other CDMA Networks?
Because i cant connect it to QPST for flash PRL and other settings for my network (Intertelecom, Ukraine).
We discovered early on that QPST just doesn't want to work with this phone. Plus, why did you get a LTE phone when you're just going to use CDMA?

Sellers on ebay that sell Droid Charge with BAD ESN all write that the phone can be connected to MetroPCS, cricket or other, but when i buy Droid I'm not convinced of that.
does it mean what all CDMA carrier settings are on LTE sim card?

I'm not entirely sure to what extent the SIM is used. I know when I got my replacement Charge, all that was involved in activating it was putting my SIM in.

In a way yes, we figured out that LTE and CDMA are both 'controlled' or at least filtered through the sim so its not possible to connect it to QPST or flash to another carrier

Who's tried Droid Charge work with RUIM card?
I tried. Write message "SIM not recognized"
Instal Samsung Drivers from Here
After Turning on USB debugging drivers will get installed Automatically
& it will Create two diag Ports
Samsung Android USB Diagnostic Serial Port (DM) (COM X)
Samsung Android USB Diagnostic Serial Port (WMC) (COM X)
Got the Port, But the problem is CDMA WS is not able to Connect
Also on QPST when we add those ports it shows no Phone
When we Dial **USB UI
Under USB it Shows
CDMA Modem
PDA
LTE Modem
When we Select any on these Modems Drivers gets Installed but it gets Stucked with Driver Named INFT2
I think if we can Solve this Drivers Issue it will be easier to go ahead,
I anybody have gone close please share
I'm interested on getting this phone but would like to make sure it can be flash to my country cdma carrier also.
I have done flashing Galaxy Tab Sprint and Nexus S 4G, both are Samsung so I guess it would be easy with the Samsung Charge ?
Can you take screen shoot of the Phoneutil screen ? On the 2 previous Samsung devices it shows : (sorry I can't post link photo says the admin )
UART :
0 MODEM
0 PDA
USB :
0 MODEM
0 PDA
Or is it different from above ?
mayb they set the phone to read the provision from R-UIM only, U have to unlock so it can read global RUIM. change the setting to NV_Items+R-UIM, CMIIW
Any news on flashing of this phone?
If there is any way (like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1028588) to change service provider, please share

is that a GSM version device?
Try forcing the phone into diagnostic mode, take the DM port under system devices on your PC, hit properties, go to diagnostic, force into diag mode, now if that doesn't work try to force it into diag mode using qpst, under ports right click enable diag mode for dm port!

Hi,
Noob trying to answer here
Since Droid Charge uses VIA Telecom Chipset, so it won't work with QPST which is made by Qualcomm. But i found interesting video from youtube, I just have no idea what software is that? Anyone have a clue?
Just found something interesting!
I've been able to update prl using VPCT ( similar to QPST but for VIA Chipset ) and also ETSMain ( similar to QXDM ) but there's a lot of weird menus
For now, I am trying to disable SIM control.. my goal is to completely disable SIM Card control so I can use this phone just like a regular CDMA phone.
Sorry, I can't post the link here..but you can find VPCT and ETSMain on 4shared.com
FYI : I live in Indonesia which is no 4G LTE network here
Menus are probably related to 4G. Phone is likely flashable to a different CDMA network, but obviously would have no 4G connectivity. I wonder if it would be possible to get to a different LTE carrier too.

I've been trying to follow guides, and I'm having a huge problem with cdma workshop, it will not recognize any phone I have. I have tried switching coms, using debugging mode, and a lot of other methods. So I got my phone information that I need from my boost donor phone which is a prevail, and now I'm to the point where it's starting to seem like an impossible task and very frustrated.
If anyone has some good ideas, let me know I've also looked at the first 20 terms for cdma not recognizing phone on google.
If you have a great method that doesn't involve cdma or know my problem and how to fix cdma so I can continue on with the flash, I'd be forever greatful.
Check your USB Cable. You can also check out the thread HERE.
