Can't sync Google contacts via Push/activesync but Mail & Calendar OK. - General Questions and Answers

I have a Touch Pro2 running the official HTC wm6.5 ROM (EUR).
I am unable to sync my contacts via activesync exchange server but Mail & Calendar are syncing OK.
If I tick mail and calender and then sync the device all works fine and sure enough the mail and calender is propagated. However if I tick contacts it starts syncing saying "syncing contacts 1/928" it gets up to about 30/928 then stops and says its finished. There are no contacts added.
I've never had this problem before. They sync perfectly on my Diamond (wm6.5) and Iphone 3GS.
Can anyone think what to try?

If you have Google apps, you have to allow 'Mobile Sync' in the Dashboard for the domain settings.
In regular Gmail, there is something like it I believe, but that is the issue...it is simply a matter of "allowing" it via a checkbox

Syncing outlook with gmail (or any other) via BT ActiveSync

i am havin problems syncing my treo's outlook with my gmail account - and this goes for both pop or imap;
the thing is that i can browse the web, download weather updates for the htc home etc, get my calendar and contacts, sync the outlook inbox with the exchange server etc but i can't get the gmail synced;
all it does is that it says that it can't connect to the server;
i tried messing with the mailbox settings and the one parameter 'use X connection' seems to be the key - altho there is no right answer to that one, as when i'm connected using activesync over bt to my desktop, i'm not wap/mms/the internet/work connection;
does anybody know how to set this up?

Enable 'Outlook' mailbox without activesync?

I've noticed on my kaiser that the 'Outlook' mailbox isn't shown unless I set activesync to sync my emails. I'm actually using another program to sync email, which specifically says I need to set activesync NOT to try and sync emails. The emails are syncing, as I can see them in some programs and today plugins, but when I go to the message app I don't have a choice of the outlook mailbox.
If I enable the mail sync on activesync, then the outlook mailbox shows up on the device, but then I always get an activesync error since there's actually no compatible mail client on the pc for it to sync with.
How can I unhide the outlook mailbox from the message app / mailbox chooser?

Contacts sync with another phone?

Is there any way of sending ALL contacts to another phone via bluetooth? Unfortunately outlook isn't an option for me (only have that via work, and the corporate policy doesn't allow connection of personal phones).
On (some) other phones you can select all contacts and send via bluetooth - I can't find any similar option on my Touch Dual.
Any suggestions?
well there are programs which sync with windows live as in hotmail and with gmail too
or you can sync with a home pc with outlook and activesync
or use a backup program

[Q] Exchange Calendar & Contacts on Android always Push updates even if Auto-Sync=OFF

[Q] Exchange Calendar & Contacts on Android always Push updates even if Auto-Sync=OFF
Fist off, my goal is manual SYNC of everything everywhere in Android. I want to save battery.
I have an Exchange account with which I sync email, calendar and contacts. In the email app I set the inbox frequency to check NEVER (i.e. manual updates). That works fine... my email only syncs when I refresh my inbox manually. GREAT!
The problem is my calendar and contacts always receive push/real time updates. I have tried everything I can think of to set up manual updates for my calendar and contacts but I cant do it. Is this possible? The whole reason I am syncing email manually is to save battery, but if calendar and contacts cant be changed then I guess there's no point, right?
The only way I could get it to work was by disabling Background data. but it seems like it should just use the same sync settings as my inbox. Do I need to get over my WM ActiveSync-esque expectations?

CM10 force sync wont sync mail

I'm running cm10 on my one xl and i have a sync toggle on my home screen but it doesnt seem to sync my mail. For example, on the stock sense, when I toggled the sync, it would sync all my accounts and push any notification, but now it doesnt seem to work. My mail settings have a 'inbox check frequency' set to 2 hours, but if I do a force sync, shouldnt it sync my mail regardless?
I'm having the same issue, sometimes turning sync off then back on will have everything appearing back to normal but mail still won't sync and the problem quickly resurfaces in the account settings.
