I and many other users use napster and rhapsody for music .. but if we go to a cooked rom 9 out of 10 times drm gets ripped out and no one remebers how to put it back... Im asking all the builders out there how can we get a process going that can be followed to cook drm back into a cookedd rom ... if needed ill put down a bounty /// please advise ..
Yeah, DRM support is one of the reasons why I keep on reverting to the stock ROM. (Even though I always end up going back to a cooked ROM in the end.)
It'd be so nice to be able to use my Zune Pass music on a cooked ROM.

yes its tiny really but the issue is that it was ripped out and now the cooks we have dont know what to put back in .. would you know what modules and files to put back to make the devices DRM usable again ?

the requirements would be to get a guide to DRM that can be applyed to the LG-incite by its cooks and get drm working on 6.5 .. prefereably it could be applyed to ANY phone .

xhozt, which ROM are you using? try PMing/Contacting the ROM Cook and ask him for the files from that Build, *maybe* cabbing up these files can be the trick

right now using darks 6.5 0008 for the lg-incite .. but HE and the other cooks done know what files are missing from the DRM thats the issue ... i have asked them they dont know .

ok, look for this dll in your /windows folder
wmdrm.dll
its there .. we have tryed cooking in the original 6.1 dll and 6.5 one also no go .. where from here?

Hi everyone.
I started this thread, because i rly wanna try to build my own ROM.
I ll base it to O2 German XDA neo ROM and just remove the useless stuff.
As informatik i think i will manage this, just need any person who tells me how to beginn.
Here are my current questions for beginning:
- ROM includes ext rom also?
- How to "backup" my ROM (cause i want to save and need the files to edit them)
- How about OS Rom? I also need to edit it? (dont think so, only wanted to ask
- Wich tools i ll need to edit the ROM (extract/modify/repack)
- Its a G4 model, i need to unlock it before i can backup the roms? (tried with aWizard without unlock, only ext ROM was backuped)
- What else i need to know!?
Would be really nice, if any person who already made a own ROM could give me some start advise/information. Would prefer a German guy, cause its more complicated in a forgein language, but dont have to. Also it would be really nice if he could communicate over ts2, or jus ICQ/MSN etc to me, cause its just faster as over forum.
If i done, i ll write an enlish+german howto thread about this.

I'm building my own ROM using Alex's Kaiserkitchen tutorial, but was wondering how to change the Build of the ROM? Can someone tell me how to do this?
IT has to do with the SYS folder...
i too am looking for someone to clarify this. how would you put the build in the sys folder?
build number is in the dsm file inside OS folder.

if u want to change the build of ur ROM, u should port the xip n sys of that particular build.

Read this. I wrote it for the Herald, but it applies to your phone, too. (At least the SYS part does. I'm not 100% sure about the XIP part being the same.)

Serious Problem.. PLEASE HELP!
so heres the story...
ive been flashing roms onto my tilt for about a month now... modding it and all that good stuff.. but i made a stupid rookie mistake..
so i was in a rush earlier today to get to work and i wanted to try phoenixs new rom... thinkin i covered all the bases...
i left the sim card in my phone when i flash his rom...
now my phone wont read my sim card... it still works and all..
but it just wont read the card and i cant connect to att..
i have another att phone wich i put my sim in.. and it works perfectly.
its just the tilt wont read it at all..
so do i have a shinny new building block? or is there a file or steps i could just install to fix..
i tried flashing differnet roms.. tried doing the cid/sim unlocker, tried searching..
but nothing..
please.. any help or answers would be greatly appreciated..

Which ROM? I wasn't aware we had a chef named Phoenix.
I handle PR for a ROM called Phoenix, and this question should be in that thread IF you think it's a problem with that ROM specifically.
aka READ JIMMY'S RULES AT THE TOP OF THE FORUM.
that being said. I flash with the SIM in all the time, so I'm not exactly sure what you have done to your device.
Try a different Radio ROM, not a full ROM, a RADIO ROM.

I flash every new rom made and I have never taken out my sim card when i flash a rom. You need to post your question in the thread that you got the rom from.

Yes -- he should ask me...in the right thread. I too never take my sim card out...ever. I flash 10 or 15 times a day when cooking.

Actually the HD2 thread is not dead at all. For example I release a kitchen where you can build a rom exactly how you like it and customise it your self.
If you have never built a rom before have a look at my thread for beginner chiefs and then you should move on to my advanced version. It is really easy simply click on the apps you dont want remove them, click start, it builds the rom for you then you flash!!
