It is just a windows mobile setting:
Start -> Settings -> System -> Key lock -> do not lock keys (or something like that, I have a dutch phone).
Make sure you have a good locking solution, like TouchLockPro, because your phone will awake regularly when the keys are pressed.

Hi ZuinigeRijder.
First of all thank u for ur reply.
Then, unfortunately I can't find these options on my phone (in the latest three different ROMs I've tried these options are no more in the settings, one 6.1 and two 6.5 ROMs).
Some times ago I've found a post with a registry hack to obtain that result.
But now I can't find that post anymore.
Thank u very much

Sorry, I've found it!!!
And here it is for all who need it:
Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd\DefaultKeyLock
set it to 0 and all the hardware keys will wake up the phone.
Thank you for all.

Actually here is the easier way. Install this control panel app, to control the key lock. Its made by HTC, and has been included on their devices for a looong time now. But I do believe certain OEM's/Carriers remove this for some unknown reason.

doesen't work

I'm trying to do the opposite...I'm trying to disable all keys wake up...but that registry entry and HTC key lock app doesnt work for my HD2.

Did you soft reset after installation?
And I would have no idea why it doesn't work on the HD2??

Confirmed - Key Lock Cab on HD2 Does not Work
Confirmed, loaded the Key Lock cab, reset phone.
Start>Settings>All Settings>System>Key Lock -
elected <Lock all buttons except for power button>
Reset the Phone
Phone can still be powered back on by any hardware button
Would appreciate any assistance.

What device are you using? As far as I know this should work on most if not all HTC Winmo devices.

It's BUILT in ....
Start/ParametersSecurity/Lock
You have to choose how long (60 sec etc) and a code pin to lock .
BUT
I believe there is another option to lock automatically without a pin code.
Simply hold the red button and your phone will be locked.

OK
You're right Kevin, I've searched for an auto lock program.
I've tried the Maniac tools. It's TOTALLY perfect. I like a lot the custom screen saver function.
Many thanks for your hint !
I use smart toolkit from e-native
http://www.e-natives.web.id/
it's free but does more than just auto lock...you can cut and paste several items, adds a task manager bar, lets you take screen shots, it's really cool, but at first it's not very easy to use...however, now I absolutely love it
LS
batterystatus plug in
...I use this mainly to do dynamic overclocking on my Wizard, but it has the option for "device lock on wakeup". when I've finished with my phone, I turn the display off and I'm good to go. Not quite an autokeylock but in use I prefer it...

Which one and version please? Thanks
ok - installed. seems to be what I want. Thanks!
If I don't want to enable that feature in Advanced Configuration tool, is there another way to get to it? Or is there a Cab/App That I can use to lock unlock my phone? I like that ACT lets you lock the screen by pushine the power button, but sometime I just want to turn off the screen not lock it,,,

I can't seem to find this option in Advanced Config 3.3 either.
I'm sure it's probably a well known tip but I only just found it out (Got my Touch Pro yesterday) that you can hold the call end key to lock the device, which is better than nothing but I'd still rather have a way of making the power button do this too.

Ok, another question on the topic is there a way to add a lock button to the touchflo homepage?
Full Lock???
I have this thing that is bothering me.
When I have my Fuze on my belt ( screen locked using S2U2 ) and I activate Voice Command to make a call or just answer a call using my BT Headset the phone menu will come on with a big end call button in the middle.
Without fail I would move around and nudge the phone with the right force through the case and hang up on whoever I was talking to.
Is there an option in the S2U2 or another way of locking the phone so that when the screen is locked it's really locked?
thanks!
I reflashed and now can't get my device to lock when I press the power button. The device won't lock at all, even when I hold the end key.
How did you get it to lock when you press the power button?

No Auto Lock after new ROM - want my Slider back!

Hi guys!
After upgrading to the new official ROM my Auto Lock Slider disapeared.
I installed BSB Tweaks 1.2 and turned "Auto Lock" to on. Then Softreset. But the Slider was still gone.
I changed the registry entry to
HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\DeviceLockWhenSuspend =1
Then Softreset.
But nothing happend. Still no Auto Lock Slider.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!!

Did you read what i've written???
I think it's the weird behavior of BsB which is causing the problem. Let me guess, did you install BsB immediately after the upgrade? I did not, had no problems whatsoever, but later after a hard-reset I immediately installed BsB and yes, had the same weird problems as you described.

Press the Windows button then press the soft lock key in the bottom left. This could make it work again but it doesn't for some apparently. Worked for me though.
Same for me, just locked it once manually, then it works again. Didnt need to install anything.
Bloke
I had the same prob. the best solution is to check auto lock in BsB. After that exit BsB but DON'T soft reset with BsB. just exit. Then Power off the phone and switch it back on manually!!!!

Many, many thanks!!! This worked!!!! Now i have Auto Lock again!!
These thing did not work for me ether.
I did the follow:
holded the "turn off" button down, and pressed the device-lock button, and then it worked.
Good Lock
Power Button tips works but not after soft reset. Yuo should use this exe:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5086288&postcount=2
And then copy into Windows\Startup so each time HD2 boot, it will start also the lock screen, then after you switch off the screen the lock will be always active!
I ve upgraded to 1.48 3 days ago, since then i ve never came across that lock screen problem nor the other mail problem, others appear to associate these two together.
I havent installed BsB tools though i dont know if this has something to do with it or i just got lucky or its some other app that makes the conflict that i dont use.

[REQ] A software 'go sleep' button

I want to save the hardware of my HD2 and I'm looking for a .cab that makes a software button that acts the same like pushing the 'end call' button to enter sleepmodus.
(as same as the quite usefull software 'soft reset' button)
Anybody a hint for me?

Do I understand it right that you are searching for a tool in order not to use the default "end key" which does exactly that job very good?

yes. the end key is hardware and i prefer a software solution. you can wake-up the HD2 with every hardware key, but onlky the end key makes it go sleep. That wont last forever... so if there's a cab to provide a button on screen. well... I would go for it
The life of a hardware key is usually in the range of a million presses, so I wouldn't worrry too much. I've never had a dead power key on any of my HTC phones, and never heard of someone with that problem... You'd have to be very unlucky to get it, unless you intend to keep your HD2 for 20 years or so, but then I'd rather worry about the flash memory being dead
Solution to your request

Hi michedenhaag,
I know what you are up to - I using a soft key link myself
Just get MySuspend from this tread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544475&highlight=MySuspend
and using Advanced_Configuration_Tool_v3.3 attach your soft key (I use the left one) to MySuspend.
Thats all !!!
Working like a charm on my TD2 and will work for sure on your HD2.
Greetings from Poland

Thanks! works like a charm!
(and the switch itself will last, but the soldering and construction is the problem. I had over 5 HTC phones before and all got 'hardware' problems on buttons. So this saves me a lot of clicks!

Unlock phone with soft keys?

First of all, is it even possible to assign soft keys to unlock the phone?
I've tried adding "WAKE_DROPPED" to "key 102 HOME" in "pyramid-keypad.kl" but the home button doesn't unlock the phone even after a restart. I've also tried pulling/pushing the file via adb in recovery mode.
Bumping...
My first post here (and unfortunately, not such a useful one), but here goes a soft bump from me too
Please... can someone shed some light on this? I just don't want to use the Home or Power button(s) to unlock my SGS2. Shake or Voice (LOL) or Soft Keys would be cool... B-)
Thanks in advance
EDIT: Oops, just realised it's a thread for HTC Sensation :dumb me:
There is a kernal mod out there I think for hd2 where you swipe the soft keys and will unlock and lock
Lol, hd2 doesn't have soft keys.
But you are.correct, its kernel mod. Show considered doing it but changed his.mind IIRC.

i want this feature too!!! anyone can enlighten us???
I had completely forgotten about this thread.. I found an app which allows you to unlock with the proximity sensor. But I haven't used it since starting this thread so I can't remember the name. I quit using it because it would unlock when I put it in my pocket.

^^ Haha yea, I can understand. It might have gotten more painful than a solution really. But, please interrogate your neurons... and try to recollect the name of the app. Please please please. Thanks
i can see that this mod would be kinda cool, however u realise that it would mean keeping the capacitive soft buttons powered on all the time ready for input, basiclly it would stop deep sleep and keep the soft keys draining the battery non stop...
