is there a way to setup Opera 9.7 (or 9.5) so that phone numbers appear as links and can dial the number by clicking on it?
anyone know? i just got pwned in an iphone debate because an iphone can do this. it seems like a good feature i would want on my touch pro2
I've looked through all the registry settings for Opera but I don't see this anywhere.
Do you guys understand what I am trying to do?

Perhaps if you ask this in the opera mobile official thread you´ll have more chances to get an answer.

no it's not, I would like to, for example, do a google search for "Bank of America Customer Service" go to the website, click on phone number to make the call? Doesn't that seem like a good idea?

OK I'll do that too. But, it doesn't have to be Opera mobile, but is there any browser, or anything that can do this? That's kinda why I posted it in the general forum.
just copy and paste.
select the number in Opera, copy, and paste it in the dialer app. Works.

I was searching for "MMS" and getting no results found so I did a little experiment.
Go to the SMART1 WM6 Rom thread and "Search this thread". Enter WM6 (it's there on the first and third lines) --- No results found!!!
So I'm thinking maybe there is a minimum length (not very useful for my MMS search) so I tried searching for "talk" - also in the third line - and it finds it. So I tried "here" and --- No results found!!!
Now I am one of those people who get annoyed when questions are posted with obviously no previous research, but this search engine can't be helping.
I will continue to try and find out why MMS isn't working on Smarts v2 ROM (and binkys fix isn't the answer)
Just thought I'd share that
I got same problem 2... my phone says :"connecting to mms network" and then nothing... i configurated my s200 for mms over and over but it wont work
I don't like the search function either.. Its not working.. So if the pro's say to the noobs that they should go search then that isn't the way to find what they need.. Maybe sometimes if you are lucky, but its deffently not a good search engine..

did you follow the exact installation sequence as described in the first post?
did you enter the MMS settings exactly as they were when it was working? one small setting could make a lot of difference!
Yep and Yep
I can get it to work with PDAMobiz 0.99 but not with Smartv2!!! It doesnt even attempt to connect!

Search with Google and put xda developers in the search.
on topic:
The search function on this forum has brought me just about all the knoweledge I could possibly have about flashing/modifying/cooking ROM's.
You just need to search with the right keywords and read a lot.. and I mean a lot of threads/posts to get to that point
But it's definately worth it.
grtz
does normal GPRS work? ie. connecting to the internet and browsing, or whatever else
I do
I do use it a lot!!! You don't see very many posts asking for help from me and I can do most things now. Just started looking at cooking.
But when the search engine doesn't turn up a result for something that is staring me in the face then there is something wrong!

Hi everyone,
This is my first thread so I would like to say hello to everyone in this family, first of all.
OK, now the problem. I use world off line to record the news and other websites so I can read them every day when I go on the tube. For that and by default WOL uses Internet Explorer, but can someone tell me if it's posible to view WOL contents in Opera (as I like more the browser in my VGA pda). I've tried already setting up Opera as a default browser, but it still launches internet explorer.
Thank you.

Are you sure you did check in the "Set as default browser" checkbox in Opera Mobile? Try it once more and also make sure you poiwer down your PPC BEFORE resetting it (so that the Registry changes are surely flushed back to the Flash ROM)
I followed your advice but still the same, launches IE by default. I've emailed Sunnysoft to see if they can help me. I'll let you know if there is any advance.
Thank you for your help.

OIC, so, you're using the Sunnyosft Language Extender?
The Opera features say you can dial a phone number directly from a webpage (like its possible on the iphone)... anyone got a clue, that function does not seem to work on my phone?

Check the iContact thread because I think this question was asked. I.e. if you hit the phone button and then "contacts" it will load iContact, however from the people tab it won't. I'm not sure they ever resolved that problem, but if they did, please post the response here, because iContact seems like a much better program (and the scrolling is the best I've seen on Windows Mobile...)
i didnt find anything (a link to that thread would be nice). but i'm thinking a simple registry edit would suffice??
I´m sure soon we will see it for WM

Man I want this for WM as well; looks very nice! We're closing in on desktop browsing on mobile devices.
This looks great! But from the features demonstrated, it seems to act very similar in many ways to Opera Mini 5 beta, so you can pretty much try it out now from the look of things.
no way close to desktop browsing until we get full FLASH content...

I agree...
Seen live today at friends Nokia 5800 (or whichever number was it) and I first thought it is Opera Mini lol.
Yea, it runs nice on that device. Hope we get WM version very, very soon.

Screen corruption in Opera Mobile 9.7 beta 1, Anyone else got this and did you find
Ah, bit of a bugger the latest version doesn't work. Come on Opera, pull finger!
Slight problem is I don't have an install file for 9.5 (as it came built in on my Xperia X1). Can someone be terribly kind and post a link?

Just tested 10 like the looks haven't noticed a great difference in regard speed etc to 9.7, i'll still be using Mini 4.2, find 5 unstable...
does it have the option to click on a phone number in a webpage and dial that number? Like Chrome Mobile does?
