The Opera features say you can dial a phone number directly from a webpage (like its possible on the iphone)... anyone got a clue, that function does not seem to work on my phone?

Hi everyone,
This is my first thread so I would like to say hello to everyone in this family, first of all.
OK, now the problem. I use world off line to record the news and other websites so I can read them every day when I go on the tube. For that and by default WOL uses Internet Explorer, but can someone tell me if it's posible to view WOL contents in Opera (as I like more the browser in my VGA pda). I've tried already setting up Opera as a default browser, but it still launches internet explorer.
Thank you.

Are you sure you did check in the "Set as default browser" checkbox in Opera Mobile? Try it once more and also make sure you poiwer down your PPC BEFORE resetting it (so that the Registry changes are surely flushed back to the Flash ROM)
I followed your advice but still the same, launches IE by default. I've emailed Sunnysoft to see if they can help me. I'll let you know if there is any advance.
Thank you for your help.

heres what i wanna see if it can be done. i use VITOS'S SMS-CHAT vigrously. so what i wnat to do is see if it is possible to open it via pressing the message button when my touch pro is in its landscape mode." theres a message button rember?"
just today i bought my at&T fuze so kinda getting familiar with all the details. my abd if this has been adressed before
Do you use it because of the threaded format? The SMS function of the current version of WinMo also threads the messages.

not only becuase of the threaded format. i just like the stability and the design is a big plus
i have not seen the ability to do that yet
and i doubt people will try now that the new landscape manilla is about to be released
but try software called butler it turns the capacitive d pad into a stroke launcher. i have sms for one but just as easy to put your program there
I´m sure soon we will see it for WM

Man I want this for WM as well; looks very nice! We're closing in on desktop browsing on mobile devices.
This looks great! But from the features demonstrated, it seems to act very similar in many ways to Opera Mini 5 beta, so you can pretty much try it out now from the look of things.
no way close to desktop browsing until we get full FLASH content...

I agree...
Seen live today at friends Nokia 5800 (or whichever number was it) and I first thought it is Opera Mini lol.
Yea, it runs nice on that device. Hope we get WM version very, very soon.

Screen corruption in Opera Mobile 9.7 beta 1, Anyone else got this and did you find
Ah, bit of a bugger the latest version doesn't work. Come on Opera, pull finger!
Slight problem is I don't have an install file for 9.5 (as it came built in on my Xperia X1). Can someone be terribly kind and post a link?

yes this really is a very beautiful browser. Fast, clean und exactly like on the desktop. Great job, Opera!
Just deleted Opera 9 and now will delete Opera Mini (I can switch to turbo when I want similar speeds).

Turbo mode is no where near Opera Mini speeds
Just tested 10 like the looks haven't noticed a great difference in regard speed etc to 9.7, i'll still be using Mini 4.2, find 5 unstable...
does it have the option to click on a phone number in a webpage and dial that number? Like Chrome Mobile does?

anyone know? Does Opera Mini do this?
is there anything in the registry or opera:config that would enable this feature? I've been searching through both but I haven't found anything... *someone* has to know *something* about this??
is there a way to setup Opera 9.7 (or 9.5) so that phone numbers appear as links and can dial the number by clicking on it?
anyone know? i just got pwned in an iphone debate because an iphone can do this. it seems like a good feature i would want on my touch pro2
I've looked through all the registry settings for Opera but I don't see this anywhere.
Do you guys understand what I am trying to do?

Perhaps if you ask this in the opera mobile official thread you´ll have more chances to get an answer.

no it's not, I would like to, for example, do a google search for "Bank of America Customer Service" go to the website, click on phone number to make the call? Doesn't that seem like a good idea?

OK I'll do that too. But, it doesn't have to be Opera mobile, but is there any browser, or anything that can do this? That's kinda why I posted it in the general forum.
just copy and paste.
select the number in Opera, copy, and paste it in the dialer app. Works.
hiho
i have ROm 1.48 on my phone, and IE + Opera 9. The most time i surf with Opera 9. But i hear, there are more browsers for the HD2.
What is the fastest browser for the HD2 at the moment, and where can i get it?
How can i upgrade the IE, if a update is available.
Can u post plz the URLS for the Browsers. I hear only about the IE, opera, Fennec and Skyfire. But could not find any URL.
Last but not least
how can i uninstall Apps like (Bing, Windows Start, Alc Copilot etc.)?
cant find them in the Program deinstallation.
thx
Skyfire download page. It supports flash but I can't say it's the best browser I've ever used. I use my Opera...
ok thx. try this out
i use the Opera 9.7 i think. Is it better to upgrade to Opera 10? What is better in Version 10? Faster browsing? Have V 10 Flash support?
Skyfire is great for its Flash support (it even handles Silverlight) but is annoying otherwise. For anything that doesn't require Skyfire, I stick to the built-in version of Opera. The Beta version of Opera Mobile 10 isn't bad, but I don't like the whole only-two-levels-of-zoom thing.
I really begin to hate opera, it has problem with more and more sites. for example tvrage.com I can't even login. I send my u/p and I'm back at the login page but not logged in. lastpass.com doesn't work, it just goes nowhere. but I get a lot of those annoying layer-ads.
really, opera mobile 9.7 is a big ****-up.
I'll have a look at skyfire until ff mobile is out.
Opera Mini 5.2 beta I have found to be really fast and user friendly

Opera Mini still is the best!
By the way: You can use the attached file to get a signed version of Opera Mini 5 Beta 2 so you no longer have to allow data connections everytime you open it... Just place the zipped file inside "My Documents" and "install from storage" (or whatever your version of Java says) and it should work!
Thank you
MAMeingast
Just put that into my phone, great not having to keep allowing net access and permission... just one question, is there a way i can make opera mini into a shortcut onto the quick links page? I can make Jblend (which handles java programs) but i cant seem to make a program inside it become a quick link?
Hope you can help or anyone else please
Opera mini 5 supports flash ?
Opera Mini is better than Opera Mobile?
Browers HD2
Opera beta 10 is brilliant
isnt this thread for flash browsers, and as far as i know is skyfire the only "full" flash supptoring browser, which dont just load YouTube videos. sadly it doesnt support tabs...

Yes! It has pretty much exactly the same interface and is A LOT faster, even if you enable Turbo in Opera Mobile!

depends on your point of view, opera mini (4, 5 or 5.2) has always been much faster to load up web pages, Opera (standard) is fine if you have a hsdpa signal, but its way to slow to be useful in just 3g speeds.. Opera mini still battles on and makes it not that annoying.

No, I'm sorry, I have no idea!
The strange thing is: On SOME ROMs (back when I used my Blackstone) installing Opera Mini DID create it's own shortcut. On others it doesn't... No idea, what the critieria is...
EDIT: If you find a way, please let me know!
EDIT2: Just found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=258141 Should be helpful! Since I use Esmertec instead of JBlend, you have to check for yourself!
I installed Opera mini 5 by going to the offical download page in my phone browser. It couldnt identify my phone. Does that mean it dosent support hd2?
I could install it anyway but when i try to log on facebook i cant write in the login box.
