Does anyone know how to fix this issue whereby you can't touch scroll while reading an article with RSS hub? I am running Juicy's R2 rom and this issue is really inconvenient. Trying to scroll through a long RSS article by pushing the screen up or down doesn't work. The touch scroll would only function correctly while browsing through the headlines or channels lists. It worked fine when I was trying the Energy Leo rom.

hi folks,
I currently use ms reader and all of my books are in .lit format
does anyone know a finger friendly reader that will let me easily change pages on screen? I hate using the hardware buttons on my phone
cheers
chris
Mobipocket Reader 6.1
Mobipocket reader is awesome, it reads .lit formats and you can turn the page by tapping the screen. you can also install the desktop version on your pc and it will convert and send books to your phone.
since when does mobipocket support .lit ??
wish mine did ! lol
Halli reader, you can simplely tap the screen to the next page
have looked at both but they don't read .lit
are there any besides ms reader that does?
Considering .lit is not an open format and msreader's a very good reader....I doubt you'll find much of anything other than msreader to read your ebooks.
And you don't need to use the hardware buttons. You can tap the page-number or the arrows next to the page-number if you really want to bungle along without the hardware buttons.
Personally I prefer using the directional pad on my hx4700 though the up-down on the side of my axim x5 was even better (stupid pda broke though ).
has anyone got the cab for tiny reader I understand that may work
got the trial version, does anyone know what the limitations are?
mobireader perfect
mobireader is free, has a cab installer, and not only has tap screen for next and previous page but has an autoscroll feature where the text smoothly scrolls up the screen at whatever speed you prefer. I found this useful when working on a cross-trainer and wanting to read at the same time. Made a holder for the phone (HD2) and left it scrolling, never had to touch it again till the workout had finished. Its a perfect reader for text files although, I agree, I dont think lit is supported as thats an MS format.
Got the new reader on Wm6.5.3 on HD2 and testing that out now if I can find any details.
I used to read lit files on ms reader but then switched to the far superior mobipocket. I use the free ABC Amber Lit Converter to convert to html, which can be dragged onto the mobipocket desktop reader.
---
+1 for mobireader...gotta luv the autoscroll!
Can someone recommend a good RSS reader for the FUZE / WM6.1?
thanks.
Does the Fuze not come with an RSS reader (RSS Hub) like the Sprint Touch Pro?
If not, then i'll recommend pRSS Reader. Very nice freeware.

RSS Hub is the best.
Beyond Pod
It does RSS and Pod Casts. I don't think it does Viedeo Pod Cast though. It is free and is easy to use.

I like this so far only issue is it does not seem to download the story headline pics... Is there a setting somewhere I am missing?
also is there a way to get it to launch opera when i click a link there web browser stinks
I wish Google Reader worked better on the Fuze. Google Reader owns all RSS feed readers.

Just use the iPhone version at http://www.google.com/reader/i/ using Opera instead. For those on the Fuze, make sure that Opera is not using the MEdia Net proxy (uncheck http and https proxy in the proxy section of opera:config) and that the proxy is not enabled for MEdia Net (in the connections manager). The proxy screws up the Javascript so no stories show up. After that, it works just as well as it does on the iPhone.
I use Newsgator Go ... syncs with my desktop and the web so I can access feeds where-ever I am and not get confused as to what I have (or have not) read...
RSS Reader
I have used Insight (SPB) for the past year or two with no issues both on the Fuze and Tilt. You pay money, but stability and useability is good - especially on a cooked ROM (ROMeOS).
Try viigo.com.
It got more than RSS feeds.

Um, on the Raphael, Opera is the default browser so BeyondPod will open in that. If you are not using a Raphael (Touch Pro) device, you can go into settings in BeyondPod and configure for the External Browser.
Google reader only, it's awesome
RSS Reader
When I had my Tilt, the RSS reader I used was Garish Kernels. It was on my home screen and would update every 10 minutes or so. Is there a similar program that I could get on my Fuze and have it on a TF3d tab? or better still on the home page? All the ones I've looked at so far, I have to put on my programs tab, and manually run it when I want it to update.
i could sworn on the HTC Wizard WM6.1 ROMs there was a TF3d tab for RSS. Anyway to get a plugin for our home screen?

For people with google reader accounts, you should use SpeeedReader. Its pretty solid. Check it out!

I love newsgator.... online service and pda phone service as well....only downside is their PPC software isn't touch capable so you have to use the scroll bar .... but a great reader...easy to use.
Gotta agree on the Newsgator, always synced with my [email protected] and my workstation at home, so I'm not bugged by the same news over and over again
I must say I prefer pRSSreader. I've tried most of these and never found one which suited my needs: downloading pictures/podcasts for offline vieweing (such as before train journies).
I did try Egress 4.11 and that was an excellent application, but i found it crashed too many times when loading a lot of pictures from a news feed, when selected.
So, 'pRSSreader' is my vote! It downlaods everything you tell it to for offline viewing and sync's with Google Reader during updates!
As a shameless plug as well, I have made a pRSSreader icon modification set for my Touch Diamond as I was bored with the rather drab looking icons it comes with.

i get vid & audio podcast with rss hub..rss hub would be perfect but it doesnt use the kinetic scrolling in the actual feed
This is another one of my multi-site threads, allright now lets get started with my claims. I will start with talking about the very first version of opera mobile ive ever used, it was 8.5.x it loaded the PC versions of every site BUT it would often cry low memory and then crash and it would also not display text right (larger than normal even with settings on minimum) and when i would type it would input large spaces in between words and yet we were expected to pay $29.99 for it (were they crazy?).
Now that i am on my HTC touch pro which comes with opera 9.5 preinstalled it runs pretty stable but there are still problems.
-it cries low memory even tho i have plenty of RAM free and then stops loading a webpage.
-regular links dont respond when i click them unless i do it about after 20 times or so
-mobile site redirects (but this is fixed with the UA hacks)
-rendering problems on sites, certain boxes dont pop up (ie. facebook friend request dialogs.),cant respond to messages on myspace.com or compose new ones, this means i cant do a new browse when away from the computer.opera officials and tech bloggers cite that opera mobile has excellent ajax and web standards support tho my experience is quite the opposite.
-when typing the screen does not scroll over as i type.
-CANT even close it or access it from the task manager unless you do some hacking.
-links sometimes dont respond unless i pull out stylus or press on it multiple times.
-CANT render the frames on my schools student websites properly (ie blackboard NOTE: PIE does this perfectly)
-CRASHES when trying to access ppcgeeks.com
I've also tried most of the opera 9.7 betas and its improved all issues I've had with opera 9.5 except:
-mobile site redirects are worse even with the UA hacks
-screen corruption problems when i recieve a text message, email or IM
-tap and hold menus sometimes dont work
-still cant send messages on myspace and other networking sites
now we are at opera 10 the latest beta suffers these problems
-memory hog
-graphics on sites are pixelated
-does not play nice with OzIM
-mobile redirects are solved with UA hacks tho i would like to see them resolved without having to do this.
-STILL cannot send messages on myspace and tagged.com but at least can send friend requests and access notifications on facebook so thats an improvement.
-when typing with the touch screen, the type cursor moves back to the top line which causes me to have to use the hardware keyboard when typing 2 line messages.
WHY cant they get it right? the iris browser does not suffer these problems only thing i dont like about it is theres no text reflow when zooming in IM not giving them any of my $$$ until all these problems are resolved and also if it will have flash support. has anyone found other issues other than those i have reported? and is there a build of opera mobile that does not suffer these issues, if so can i have a link to it?
Sorry to hear you had such bad experience
On mine, Opera Mobile 10 b2 is working great and I´m so happy with it
The new tab selection is just great!
You seem to be having a great many problems, most of which i have not sufferered on any of my devices (diamond, topaz, HD2)
Im currently using opera 10b2 and its working very well.
sometimes i get the "not scrolling as im entering text" problem, and on a rare occasion i have trouble with redirects. but the majority of the time opera performs as i would expect
Maybe you could give more examples of sites you have trouble with and detail the problem. for example you mentioned PPCgeeks crashing but not what the crash was?
I have just visited PPCG and it rendered fine, i clicked a few links and it has all worked as expected prehaps the problems are specific to the version of opera you are running?
It may also be worth reporting your bugs direct to opera, it will allow them to better address shortcomings in their product in the future.

well the crashes on ppcgeeks only occur in 9.5. the rendering problems I have are with ajax for example on the full facebook site I can't comment on status updates or send friend requests because the ajax boxes don't pop up. it works a lot better in version 10 but still not as good as iris or skyfire browser and WOW I just discovered something else. I went to the official opera forums and I couldn't even answer any threads because the reply forms wouldn't appear. the bug report form also didn't appear. that's a shame when a browser doesn't support its own site.
Get the new Netfront. Works fine and highly recommended

Would agree with Orb, using Opera 10 beta 2 and having no issues with it.
Opera 9.7 and 10 both can not render Hotmail right ( when in desktop view ). You can not reply to messages or compose new ones. You just can't type in the message body field. Opera should attend this problem, since it seems like the problem has been out there for a long time.
Yo. I have recently begun to try out a couple of new roms and the one main thing that is bugging me is that a few of the omitt RSS Hub. While i fairly easy found a separate cab for it, it seems that fingerscrolling doesn´t work with it. I can´t scroll trough the articles without using the scrollbar and i cant go to the next article by simply "flicking" the page to the left, instead having to go to the main list of articles and there select one.
So the question is, does someone have a cab with RSS HUB that supports fingerscrolling? Or can it be fixed with a registry entry?
hi,
ive seen some screenshots of ebook, tv, document etc. -tabs ...
am i blind or why i havent found anything of it until now, i always search in the hd2 themes an apps forum for "tabs" , and looked out every thread, but nothing...
if those extended tabs (like ebook, tv, facebook...) are available, pls tell me
regards
sallal
ok, i found a tv tab... see more HERE..
cheers
sallal
I got the eReader and document tabs by upgrading my ROM. The ROM section has lots of ROMs that come with these extra tabs.
There's also a Facebook tab that basically takes the facebook stuff out of the contacts tab and puts it into a tab of it's own. You can get that here...
