Google Sync via. Exchange => ActiveSync 4.5 on desktop doesn't work :( - General Topics

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone has an idea for me, because this is driving me crazy.
I'm trying to sync an HTC Prophet with a WM6.1 ROM with both my desktop Outlook as well as Google Calendar and Google Contacts. However, as soon as I add the Google Exchange server (m.google.com) to the server sources in Activesync, my desktop Outlook won't sync any more - always gives a "A problem has occurred on the desktop" error
Has anyone else had this problem and managed to work around it? I need Google Sync because it's the only way I've found to get my calendar and contacts synced to Thunderbird or Sunbird easily...
Any bright ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Activesync Replacement

Hi all,
Does anyone know of an alternative to Activesync that allows the direction of sync'ing to be specified.
Our users are struggling with Activesync as deleting a contact from their device also results in the contact being deleted from their Outlook account next time they sync.
I'm looking for something that will sync everything to the device, but not delete from Outlook should any changes be made on the mobile device.
Phone in question is a Wizard.
Thanks.
Nick.
Does the lack of response mean that nothing is available like this?
Have you looked at Intellisync or PocketMirror for WinMobile? I'm certain both have that ability.
http://www.sync.com/is_desktop_main.html <-- Intellisync
http://www.chapura.com/pmp_wm.php <-- Pocket Mirror
exactly what i was looking for
Pocket Mirror is way better.
and also found exactly what i needed LivePIM to sync PalmOS to PPC, and vice versa
A free alternative to activesync if you just want to keep your calendar synchronised is to use Google Calendar in the middle.
Google calendar can be set up to synchronise with Outlook using the Google Calendar Sync software. I then use the freeware version of OggSync to synchronise Google Calendar with my Windows Smartphone.
It works for me!

Google Calendar

Hello,
I have a problem using Google calendar from my s710, ultimate I would like to get oggsync to work but it seems I can't even log in to Google calendar via IE or Opera on my phone. I just get an "oops, your calendar is not available right now" error.
Did some searching and found that I need NETCF sp 2 to get it to work, however it seems like that is already installed on mine. Atleast that is what the cab says when I try to install it.
Anyone has any ideas?

Today it works to log in via IE but oggsync still don't work. Tried gmailsync 1.3 instaed and got it working
Now I can edit my calendar on Google via a desktop computer and sync it over without having to edit stuff directly on the phone. My hands are not designed to push the phonebuttons so much hehe.

HTC Sync 1.1 also for Outlook Calendar?

Hi,
I yesterday downloaded HTC Sync 1.1 from the HTC website (Canadian support) - which now somehow has disappeared again.
In the setup dialog it says something about syncing the Outlook calendar. This would be a great feature!
I now tried to sync it with my Rogers ROM but I am only able to choose contacts.
Any ideas how to sync the calendar? Do we need a new PCSCII.apk?
Since I am unable to use the Exchange client due to PIN security restrictions it would be great if I could sync my calendar with HTC sync.
Any help appreciated!
Sorry for bumping but doesn't anyone have any idea?
