Called dialed with Google Voice showing up as blocked number - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

I have a Kaiser with the ION build from the pre made packages thread on this board. I downloaded the official Google Voice app from the Market, and I've been using it as my default dialer. Everything is working fine except for one feature: Everyone I call is seeing me as a private number. I had my real number set to private on AT&T's side, so I went into the settings in android and tried to change the default to show. This caused massive glitches and I wasn't able to connect to AT&T anymore. I went into WinMo, and changed the setting there, which seems to be something it pushes to the sim and tower. I then deleted the data file on my SD card, and redownloaded and configured the Google Voice app. Same results.
Any ideas folks?

Since this has to do with a Droid build that has a thread please use it.
On that note thread closed.

Recover Google Voice icon (outside the US)

Hi there, dear N1 owners,
I'm trying to get back the Google Voice App launcher to the all apps drawer. I've tried adb install -r of the apk so far, but to no avail. Looks like it's testing somewhere else (carrier, GPS location, whatever) to decide if the app will be available.
The funny thing is that I configured it with my GV account as soon as I received the N1, and whenever I make a call to a phone number stored with international prefix, the call is routed via Google Voice first (have no calling credit there, so the call doesn't complete).
Any idea on how can I get the app to show again? (show, because it is already running, I just can't make it show its GUI).
Thanks a lot! Enjoy!
OK, I'll reply myself (silly me ),
it looks like the only checking being done is the locale of the system. Just changed it in the screen and keyboads settings, rebooted, and voila! the google voice icon reappeared and the app is usable again...
Soooo, anyone any way to bypass the locale checking?

How are you able to enable the application by changing the locale setting? Language and Keyboard settings / select locale / English (United States) does not reveal the application icon. I know it is installed as I can browse the /system/app folder and see the APK. If I try to use App Manager to force it to start, I get the error "Activity Not Found - ...". How were you able to enable?
I have the same problem as codington. Maybe you need a Google voice invite?
My Google Voice account is already setup - it is working fine on my HTC Magic (1.5 Cupcake). In order to activate your account, google voice server must think you are in the US. I did all that and it has worked as expected, until I tried to run GV on my N1. I live and work in China, and use GV to pick up messages left on my US numbers.
Any ideas?
GV issues
Well I had loads of issues with getting GV to show up,,,,
I installed orginal stock firmare or modaco's ....cause GV seems to work with
there firmware, after that download myapps from android market and back up GV app to SD card. Now wipe and load cyan5 B3 and restore GV app ,,,,voilla
I had the same problem of the icon not showing up.
I made a guess that the phone looks at the SIM that was inserted and disabled Google Voice if the SIM is not a US based SIM card.
So:
1. Enabled WIFI
2. Reset and Wipe phone to factory
3. Took SIM card out
4. Setup the phone and Google Voice
5. Put SIM Card back in
seems to work
I had this issue, and, I didn't change any phone settings to get it back. I am using CM5 for N1, so first thing I did was a fix_permissions. no change, so using this tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=622873 - I removed the app from my phone. Then I reinstalled it from market, and working again.

[Q] RegAW_mod - How do you update your phone number?

I looked around for a solution to this and the solutions posted didn't work with my phone. This being said, the issue with my phone is that I changed the number and when I tried using the code they gave me on the dialer keypad, it didn't work. I'd imagine that this is due to the mod I'm using. So, now I can call out and be called on that number as well as receive voicemail on that number, but I can't change the phone number in the "About Phone" section so that my voicemail app notifies me of new voicemails and so I can hold "1" on the dialer to dial my number to reach voicemail. Keep in mind that I'm using RegAW_Mod. Even if you aren't familiar with that ROM, I'd still like to hear about any ideas you may have.
Thanks again in advance! If you need any other info, please let me know.
I switched to Google Voice mail instead since its free and works better. The Sprint app became payware. ($1.99 extra a month) Here's how to change over to Google Voice:
1.) Open a Google account. (If you don't already have one)
2.) Go to https://www.google.com/voice and add your phone number. (It should be there already if you integrated your Google account with your phone.)
3.) Grab the Google Voice app from the Marketplace.
4.) Open the Google Voice app and follow the prompts.
Et te voila!

[Q] Google Voice not dialing out with CWM 11

Hello! This is my first post here, I hope I'm putting it in the right place.
I got a unlocked HTC One Mini a few weeks ago, and I can't seem to dial out with google voice. When I try to have GV intercept outgoing calls from the dialer, the screen goes black and then just returns to the dialer. If I change it to ask every time, it enters a loop where it keeps asking me if I want to use GV, which I can't escape without selecting not to.
I have tried multiple dialing apps, and the same thing happens with all of them. GV worked fine on my old phone, so I don't think it's anything with my GV account. I have reinstalled gv, and tried to dial out with hangouts disabled. Neither changed anything. I even tried reverting to the default theme pack.
I found a thread that describes a similar issue, but it was never answered and the last post is a year ago. Sorry if I should have posted there instead

I'm on a t-mobile prepaid plan, and I know I have minutes, because I can dial out using my phone's native phone number.
I am running CyanogenMod version 11-20140725-NIGHTLY-m4.
Thanks for any advice

Does anyone have a voicemail app?

I used to use Virgin Mobile with a Galaxy S5. It came with a handy visual voicemail app. Figured that since Virgin Mobile uses the Sprint network that Sprint would offer something similar.
Can't find any such app. Looked in the Sprint pre-installed folder and just alphabetically for either Sprint, visual or voicemail. Nothing.
Is my S8+ unique or did it get lost or overridden when using the Google set up a new device based on another device operation? I did notice a few old or inappropriate apps getting installed because they were on my other device.
Sprint does have a visual voicemail app that should come installed with your phone. On my Galaxy S8, it's a bright yellow icon that says Voicemail.

Here you go latest version
I used Bk uninstall to disable all the Sprint bloat and Installed Youmail. There is no other app for visual voicemail like it. You can set up individual Answer Messages fot each contact, you block callers, my favorite feature is to have the system tell unwanted callers that my number is disconnected, Or have Spockd Voice tske a message. And best of all is free. I even have it at my home line and the Messages left there go to my email.
My unlocked S8 came with no vvm app. Installing the apk linked above doesn't work (thanks for posting, though), as it appears that it does not integrate with the system. I also have the persistent VM icon after reboot.

I have the same issue with my unlocked S8, did you ever find a work around? I tried youmail but didnt like that it wasn't generic and used my contact names during the message.
Me and my husband just got unlocked Note 8's. We actually had YouMail before and it wouldn't work for either one of us and I chatted with the YouMail support person and they gave me different numbers to try and mind started working. But my husband still won't work and says something about ocn carrier error and he even tried the same numbers that work for me and they won't work for him on his phone it's weird.
We have Sprint and I have something in my notifications that will not go away that says 4 new voicemails dial *86 his doesn't have that. I just leave it cause I don't want to reset my phone but I'm thinking something backed up from my 7 Edge to make that appear in my notifications and won't go away. But I don't know why the numbers you mail gave me worked on my phone and not his.
What's another good free VM app? Thanks!

Visual Voicemail

I'm a Sprint user, and despite the fact that I had signed up for the premium Sprint Visual Voicemail on my prior device, I no longer have it on my unlocked Pixel 2. I was somewhat bummed that I now have to go back to dialing into my VM, which is something I haven't needed to do in a long time. In fact, it feels like I'm taking a few backward steps in this process (There isn't even a VM tab on the dialer app anymore; and oddly enough when I signed into my VM last night, Sprint acted as if I was a new customer which included them having erased my previous greetings and corresponding password.)
So far, the best I've been able to do is setup my cell phone number to forward to my Google Voice number whenever I fail to answer, which in turn leaves a visual VM in my GV app, and which also pushes a notification for it as well as sends me a SMS notification of such. I already had my GV number forwarding to my cell phone number for ringing/answering purposes, but I was able to always separate my visual VMs between the two services so I never mistook which number they were being left at (Which in turn determined whether I dialed back with the Sprint number or the GV number).
Have any of you found any other solutions to this issue, or do you know of any future Google or Sprint solutions possibly in the works? What I'm doing may work for now, but it sort of feels like a self-applied workaround patch as opposed to a streamlined process.
Thanks.
I use HulloMail. It is an app which can be downloaded from the Play Store. Once installed and set up, unanswered calls go to to HulloMail's servers and you get alerted so you can open the app and see a list of your voicemail messages. It can also send you an email with the message attached. There is a free tier with adverts but it is very cheap to get rid of the adverts. I've been using it for years and it is 100% reliable and effective. I have the widget on my homescreen. Check and see if it would work with your service supplier.
Does Verizon not have a separate Visual Voicemail app you can download from the play store? I am on ATT and that's how I use my VVM on my Pixel 2, I downloaded ATT's VVM app and just signed in with my voicemail pin.
