Voicemail Notification Not Working Right - General Questions and Answers

Hi everyone,
I'm having a problem with my WM6.1 voicemail indicator. First, it wouldn't go away even though there were no voicemails. Then I did a registry edit to reset the count to 0 (HKCU\System\State\Messages\vmail\Line1\Unread\Count = 0).
Now when I leave myself a voicemail from a landline, the notification won't show up. I did a soft reset and it did find the voicemail and do the notification as it should have. Then when I deleted the voicemail, it wouldn't go away again. Is there a setting that I don't have set right or something? I'm running Wisbar Advance 3 if that makes a difference but the voicemail won't show up even when I'm not running Wisbar Advance.
Is there a way to write a Mortscript to check with the server for the voicmail count at 5 minute intervals or something like that?
Thanks for you help,
-David

Unable to check voice mail

Hi all,
I replaced the ATT rom with HTC. It's been working great so far. I've been using it for about a week now. I do have one issue and not sure how to correct it. When I receive a voice mail I get a notification and normally I hit the dial button so it connects to my voicemail. However, today someone left me a voice mail and I dismiss the notification. I can see the message/voicemail icon in the bar at the top of the screen. However, I cannot click the icon. When I go to the "Messaging" option either by clicking the button on the phone or selecting "Messaging" from the Start menu, it just have the options for SMS/MMS, Email Sample and New Email account. There's no option for voice mail.
Is there someway to check the voicemail? I know I can dial the voicemail number and have access to it but it seems voicemail should be an option under "Messaging".
Please advice. And thank you in advance.
-Mike
So, after 1 week, you finally got a voice mail?
Kidding! Just poking fun!!!

I wish. I normally check right away when the notification is displayed.
Anyway, I ended up doing a soft reset and I was able to click on the Message icon in the menu bar.
Can't you just go to the phone dialer and hold down the 1 key? It should dial your voicemail for you. You can also go into settings/phone on the services tab you can select voice mail and text messages and see if the voicemail number is populated. I have never seen voice mail under messaging.

mcmex,
I just go to the dialpad. Totally forgot about that option. I thought there was an option under the messaging but I guess not. I'm good now.
Thanks.

Hi,
When I had the problem I did a soft reset on the phone and that seem to fix the problem. Now it works all the time. Give that a try.

Disabling Notifications/Icons

Hey guys I know you probably know where stuff in the registry is that I would never be able to find but what I'm trying to do is stop the notifications I get both the icon in the start bar and the bubble notification, for my new mail coming from outlook exchange 07 and text messages both receiving and being sent. I know I saw other options for notifications you can turn off, so I'm wondering if anyone know how to do this. I mean why are they even there TF3D shows you what you have haha.
You can toggle turning all these notifications on or off using Schaps advanced config. Download it from here
Really? sweet I just installed this to do those TF3D performance tweaks so I guess I just need to go looking deeper to find them, scary haha.
I just looked through everything and it seems all in order, like when it says show icon for some stuff its labeled as no, so I guess I'm missing something because I still get notifications/icons for when i have new/unread mail
Two things you can try:
1. Go to Start-->settings-->Personal-->Sounds & Notifications-->Notifications
Messaging: New E-mail Message & uncheck Display Message on screen.
2. Try this registry key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSAvailabl e = 0
To enable again
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSAvailabl e = 1
I think this should disable all sms notifications.
Give it a shot.
Found this too. I think this should just about hit the nail on the head for you.

No voicemail notification on my Fuze

I've flashed to ROMeOS and have everything working pretty well except that I do not get a notification when I receive a voicemail. Also, holding '1' doesn't dial my voicemail anymore. I have also installed THIS DIALER if it makes a difference. Any help would be appreciated.
Nevermind, further browsing led me to the answer that the problem is with the dialer. However, is there a cab that will show that there is new voicemail on the today screen, similiar to the way touchflo shows it?
there is no option like that in TF3D/M2D
voicemail is read a bit differently.
you can use other plug-ins like phonealarm to get voicemail notifications.

HTC HD2 - Lock Screen Notification Problem

I have a HTC HD2 and when the screen is locked, it shows a number 1 (identifying that i have a notification).
When i tap the notification icon, it drops down and shows me the voicemail icon - which means i should have a new voicemail message to listen to.
If i slide the voicemail icon, the phone goes straight to phone book, but when i call my voicemail - there are no new messages...
I have tried everything and i just cant get rid of this voicemail icon! I DO NOT want to do a hard reset.... Please let me know how to sort this out...
Exactly the same problem here! I wonder if it has something to do with PhoneAlarm which I have installed. I didn't notice the '2' before, but it may have been there before installing PhoneAlarm though.
Also, and sorry for hacking your topic, my lock screen sometimes stops to show up; whenever I have installed a cab and soft reset I have to manually adjust the registry to 'lockscreen always on'. Could have something to do with PhoneAlarm as well, but I've checked the lock screen settings in PA.
Oh, and maybe this topic should be moved to the HD2 forum ;-).

Call forwarding icon stuck in notification bar (Solved)

Earlier today a small blue Forwarding call icon got stuck in the notification bar on my NS. I haven't set up any call forwarding so not sure how the icon got there. The calls coming in are not forwarded. The icon is also there when pulling down the notification bar, and it says "Forwarding all calls" but clearly it isn't.
I use the SuperOSR rom and tried restoring a backup but the icon is still there.
Can anybody help to provide some info as to what could cause this? I've tried googling but haven't been able to find an answer. Thanks.
Edit: figured out that by actually setting up call forwarding and then disabling it made the icon disappear from the notification bar. Still have no clue as to why it appeared when no call forwarding was set up. Must be a minor bug.

Thanks a lot for this! It had been driving me crazy for days. I went to 3 and they had no solution. I was prepared to change my number because changing the SIM card had no effect.

Thank you so much. I've had this problem for ages. Even after a full /system wipe it would come back eventually.
Now I know how to fix it.
Much love!

Take another phone and call yourself and leave a message. Then take your phone, reboot, listen to the message and erase it.
