Any suggestion before replace the parts?

Some button issues with TNT

I've been pretty happy with this phone, especially since I got WM6 on it but I'd like to be able to use Morphgear as an emulator. When I do, I like to use it in "west" orientation with my left thumb on the control pad and my two main buttons as Button 1 (the "mail" button) and Button 5 (the "comm manager" button) so I can press them at the same time with my thumb on 1 and my index finger on 5. When I try to map the buttons that way in Morphgear, it calls Button 5 Button 6 instead and it doesn't work in game. I thought it might be a Morphgear issue but I've tried it with other emulators and it doesn't work in them either. Why is that? Is there any way to correct it? Another annoying issue is that whenever I accidentally press the center of the control pad and Button 1 at the same time it wants to align the screen.
Any help?

that combination is probably a built in feature to pull up the align screen program for your device, and i am pretty sure can be removed by tweaking the reg. settings that correspond to the short cut.
You should post your issue under the tnt rom thread to avoid creating redundant threads.

try vjcalibrula .
it may turn calibration combo off... it works on wizard, at last..

Number pad, keyboard and navigation control issues

Hello all any help with this would be appreciated.
The Soft keys on my Vox just don't work any more. When I press the start button there is a little bit of white and that's it. If I pull out the keyboard I can press start. Also I cannot use the navigational pad up or down but can use it to move left or right.
When I press 1 sometimes 12 shows up when I press 7 sometimes 78 shows up.
On the keyboard r gives me q, i gives me h, x gives me w, c gives me a.
Thanks much in advance for your help.
I have done multiple rom flashing from the shipped ones to those made others same result.

Keyboard keys hard to press

Hi,
I've had my Touch Pro for around 2 years now, and some keys are starting to get hard to press, so I have to press them harder or else they won't work.
It's happening on a few keys, but most notably the left shift.
I did some research and the only solution I found was this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=450583
But I think that would be a last resort solution. Is there a simpler way to fix the keys, preferably without having to open the phone?
Thanks.
oo same here! my space, C, backspace and left key are hard to press.
btw I have had mine for about 1 year now.
edit: tried to open my at&t fuze to hammer those incisions but I couldn't get the keyboard off the main part
Remove the keyboard and line it back up. The keyboard is all one piece.
If problem still happens, get a new keyboard. They're cheap on ebay. $10-$20USD.
I have a Touch Pro Keyboard to offer you guys

Turn on phone by pressing the Windows button?

Hi there,
is there a way to turn my display on by pressing the windows button and not the power button?
I think unless you have a physical button (I don't, Samsung focus user here) it would be pressed over and over and over in your pocket. Doesn't sound good to me lol.

I was wondering that, too :/
I suppose it's determined by a registry key, btw.
My Omnia 7 does that by default, but it probably wouldn't work with a capative button.
only registerykey which makes any sense is
[HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\KBD\WakeUpSources] = 23.
I think KBD means something like keyboard but i have no glue. Can someone who knows a bit more of the WP7 registry check if this entry has anything to do with wake up?
(I'm not even able to change the value of this regkey, it switches back to 23 every time I close regedit)

Yes, KBD means Keyboard for sure...
Needs testing and (maybe, I'm not sure this helps) some HTC or Samsung user posting their key value :/
My Value of this key is 23 (0x17). My phone is a HTC Mozart 7.
I thought about messing with this value for testing. I should get the device out of standby by connecting power. Anyway, feels not quite right do change this
I have HTC HD7 and even in my phone the Value of this key is 23 (0x17).

I'd assume this is either the keycode for the power-key or some kind of route to a eventlistener or smth? The naming WakeUpSources seems to indicate this is not a reference to a single button, or am I wrong?

are you able to change the regvalue? I'm not. It seems to be some kind of write-protected on my LG.
If it's Julien's registry editor and unless it's been changed recently you'll find that the method he's using for LGs only persist writes in certain areas of the registry. If you're using the MFG app, those keys might be further locked down.
Regarding multiple values, they'd have to be coded as an integer since it's a dword value. Seems unnecessarily tricky for key codes.
Oh, and the value on my Optimus 7 is 7.
Values of 7 and 23 can be flag - multiple values coded in one.
If it's really a flag then messing with it may lead to funny results.
The more I think about this the more I think this value could be a BusIO port number where any given sensor (like a button) may fire a signal.
To sum up, I don't think you'd be able to change the key for waking the phone up with a decent amount of effort.
first test would be to set this to some other value and check if it's really the wakeup key.
I tried to do it with MFG but there I get a Value of 1928312392 or something and not 23.

72EFB648 as a hex value doesn't look very prommising in understanding what this might be (at least for me)
I'll play around with my value if I got a spare minute.

I were in the wrong Rootpath.
I changed 23 to 10. Rebooted. And checked if the Value is still 10 in the reg and then tried if it makes any difference.
No it doesn't. I can still unlock with the power button
This seems to be not the value we are looking for.
Camera Button
I completely agree with trying to find another button for power. I personally hate the power button on my HD7, but it also has sensor buttons not actual buttons. What would be better for everyone, because it is the same for every device would be waking up with the Camera Button. This button already is able to automatically wake the device directly to the camera app. You need to press and hold he camera button for this. What would be great is if you just press the button and release and it would just wake to the lock screen. I hope somebody would like to work further on this and make it a reality.

Hi all
This looks like a registry key that has been included for devices with a hardware keyboard, such as the HTC 7 Pro. Perhaps somebody with such a device could test for us.
I remember in WM6.5 there was a registry key that enabled/disabled wake up on hardware keyboard extension.

Are there any Omnia 7 users reading this? Omnia 7 has this working so that if you have either the proximity or the light sensor blocked (or both of course, you can try it with your finger, all this was pointed out in some other topic I can't find at this very second), the Start button won't act as lock key, but if the both sensors are "free", then the Start button will unlock the phone (lit the screen, you still have to swipe it).
Well invented by Samsung, as this prevents the screen turning on all the time in your pocket and eating the battery - unnoticeably to the user - that way. This would also explain the connection to sensors the_Crispy mentioned.
Its been a while now. Did anyone made any progress?

I answer the question to myself, because I solved this problem and if anyone would have the same one, maybe it will help.
It was hardware problem. What I did? I stick off black tape in up part of keyboard and it helped. I've no idea why, but it helped

What do you mean "keyboard backlight is lighting all time" ? The hardware QWERTY keyboard of HTC 7 Pro lights only under these scenarios:
- when you tap on a text field and when you enter text. If you stop pressing keys it dims in 4-5 seconds.
- when the display is lit up and you open the sliding mechanism.
I have some questions:
1. Did this problem appeared immediately after you purchased the phone or some time later? Was it new or used?
2. Can you please post a picture of the duct tape that solved the problem?
3. Do you experience the problem described in post #10 in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216057

And my answers for your questions:
1. I bought used phone with this problem.
2. I can't take a picture of the tape, because i threw it out. But you can easy find it. Under it there are LEDs backlighting keyboard. In construction of the tape is somthing like metal net, so maybe it caused the problem. I don't know, I have no knowledge in this field.
3. I have no this problem, so unfortunelly i can't help you. I guess you should disassembly screen-part of the phone and check what's wrong. If you don't solved it yet
