Hi,
I'm looking for a program that would easily manage my income and expenses, just like pocket finance diary. Problem is that this program is not the best finger friendly app, and most importantly it crashes when I try to perform any action with it.
Can anyone recommend any good app for this?
Thanks
There are lots in this forum itself. Just have to try and see what suits your needs!
I tried a bunch in the Finance category. Some crashed, some don't meet my needs. I was thinking maybe someone found a program that works fine and is useful.
The closest I found is Quicken, which is nice, but not finger friendly.

Hey community
I'm Pete and although I've been registered for quite some time now this is my first post so: Hello everyone!
I've been searching my butt off in order to find a multiple choice quiz application for WM6. I've looked at a bunch of stuff and dug around in sourceforge too but no luck. As I use a lot of freeware apps I'm perfectly happy with on my PPC I wouldn't mind at all to use another one. But if there's a feature rich commercial version I wouldn't mind paying either.
So: I'm looking for a software which would allow me to take (multiple choice) quizzes. The possibility to make quizzes on my own (preferably on the desktop PC) is a must. Embedded pictures/sounds would be a big plus.
Does anyone know of such an application?
Have you looked at MondoPondo?
Am not sure if you can author your own quizzes but it may be possible...
Hey rjcb23
I've never heard of MondoPondo before and just had a look at it. As far as I can tell quizzes aren't editable which they should be. Besides, according to the faq it seems to be a complete multi player game and I intend to play alone to kill time when I'm on a train, plane etc.
Nevertheless, thanks a lot for the reply.
Anyone have any other ideas?
Does anyone know a good finger friendly financial program, i have tried a few but all require the use of a stylus
I'd be interested in this too.
I've been meaning to make my own for ages but not got around to it. ATM I'm using a simple spreadsheet in Excel with a few sheets for different categories cos you can simply pinch and zoom so it's quite finger friendly.
Specs
How about some specifications regarding what would be required in such an application.
Could possibly be an interesting project to start....
For me a program would:
-Record amount of money coming in each month
-Record all expenditure with date, spend category
-Summary of expenditure by week/month/year/category
-Categories to include misc/transport/entertainment/food/bills/investments/total
All with nice finger friendly spinners and big fat buttons that are nice to use on the HD2.
I added an excel spread sheet that I use currently. I just rename it every month. This one doesn't have a way of recording how much money is coming in.
very interested her as well. Here are a few i found from a google search and have tried NONE yet. Just putting these here as starting point. Maybe we can try them and see if they are finger friendly. Doesn't look like some are but some you cant tell.

Just installed this one.
It's ok but very basic. Pretty finger friendly but there are bugs. When I open up a date selector is MASSIVE and doesn't fit on the screen with no way of scrolling.
No way of entering recurring things like rent, salary etc
Can't add new categories so you've only got All, Expense & Income.
i jsut tried this one
Lyma Power Budget (Maybe finger Friendly)

it has TONS of potential. the only thing i see wrong is some text is kinda cut off. can you give it a try and see if you are getting what i am getting in my screenshots? I also added some screens to show its wroking great in other areas. I am almost inclined to overlook the text issue in the overview Wow this one is pretty damn nice!!
You're right, that was in nice but the same problem occurs one mine.
The desktop version looks nice too and allows you to sync with the phone.
I've emails them about the problem so maybe they'll fix it?

Just to warn you all the Avast flagged this .exe as containing a trojan on my home PC. However McAffee didn't flag it at work
Maybe you should be careful when downloading it.

not sure if it's super finger friendly up it's updated and free.
Got this message from the devs
Dear Matt,
Sorry for the delay in responding.
Thank you for the screenshot, we really appreciate it.
Unfortunately we have not yet updated the application to support Windows Mobile 6.5 or the new device resolution.
We are hoping to have this completed in the next few weeks.
We will email you when the update is available if you like.
Kindest Regards,

Easy expense works fine. Simple and as it say easy. finger friendly to certain extent, not much eye candy, but does what it is made for. Export function limited, but ok.
I'm currently working on a finance app that includes all of the functionalties mentioned in this thread. Also, another cool function about this app is that it sums up all of the entries on the same date/merchant/category/payment depends on that sorting is selected instead of the just total amount. The app also supports logging of multiple periods. For example, if you go on a business trip, you can start a new period just for this business trip as it doesn't belong in the daily expenses/revenues. Once the business trip is done, you can save it and resume your daily expenses/revenues period.
The app supports storing your receipt when you create a new expense (giving your device can take picture)
I'm still working on this app as there are a few functionalities that i would like to add before releasing.
Here are more pics
and even more pics
Please post soon... I've been looking for a finance app forever like this... Keep us all posted... do you have a beta cab to mess with?

Right now i don't have any beta cab for testing yet as i'm just doing self testing. Once it's stable and has all of the functionalities that i wanted to implement, i will release a test version.
I'm looking for an app to making TODO lists compatible with quite famous David Allen's GTD system. Do you know any? Something like Things from iPhone would be great.
I checked MyLifeOrganized and Pocket Informant 9.1. The first one has old-fashioned(...WM 2k3?), not finger friendly interface. The second one is slow(on my Samsung i780) and also has a bit uncomfortable interface(too many features, and no possibility to switch them off).
I would like to apologize for my, probably poor, English, I hope you could understand it.
Thank you in advance.

Hi. I am in search of a GTD app for my

monowalker,
Take a look in Task2Gather, by Vito Technology, at vitotechnology.com/windowsmobile-task2gather.html
"One place for all your to-do lists on your Windows Mobile! Task2Gather is your personal to-do list and your collaborative tool for your business. What is unique about Task2Gather? You can share your projects, distribute actions to employees or family members and keep track of their progress. You can manage tasks depending on scale of importance and deadlines. For a simpler use you can just remind yourself of your things to do for the day from buying bread to finish your big presentation at work.
Even if your family members, friends, or colleagues don't have Windows Mobile device, they can work with you from a desktop PC, Mac or even iPhone. The idea of updating your shopping list while you are in the shop will be to your wife's liking."
It looks like a good solution for me.
It's finger-friendly and cheap: $ 0,99.

Hi guys,
Can anyone recommend finger friendly "To do" or "Shopping List" apps for WinMo?
Cheers
Pete
here a shopping list program
quite good
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=506538
have fun
There's a great "to do" program here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=596000
This really should be in HTC´s "To Do" list for Sense: a TASK/LIST TAB.
i am also looking for a similar program for shopping and checklists and have tried both programs. unfortuntely, (no offense to anyone, it's my personal opinion), both programs pale in comparsion to what is offered in the iphone platform. I look in envy everytime my friends wipe out their to-do list.
the search continues.

Have to agree with you here... they both suck in my opinion... It is a shame because even symbian s60 platform on my previous devices offered great software for shopping and checklists. Let me know if you find something worth looking at.

Yes I also agree too, I have been looking for a shopping App for a long time, I have tried them all and none are of much use on the HD2, the iPhones "Grocery Gadget" is the best shopping App I have seen and I have emailed the makers of Grocery Gadget a few times about a possible WM version, and they are ment to be working on one, but they have been saying that for over a year now. I have also written to Spb Software with the idea of a finger friendly shopping App and they replied saying, they like the idea and will look into it, and will get back to me if they decide to go ahead with it. So the motto is if you want something, then keep asking.
Listpro is a nice app, but its not that much finger friendly...
http://www.iliumsoft.com/site/lp/listpro.php
I agree. Finger friendly WM apps are lacking.
For a shopping list app you might want to look into upvise.com
The WM app is not too bad, but the cool thing is, it also syncs online. Often my wife will do up a shopping list and I just load up the software in the grocery store and wallah. Quick and handy.
I'm also looking for this. Anyone?
I'm keeping my eyes for months now on this website: http://www.gekonewmobile.com/shop/gekotask Looks very promissing.
At the moment i'm using "agenda one" for my task-management. The big plus of this program is that you can modify many elements of the interface. Although it isn't really a finger-friendly program by default, through the use of some modifications you can make it at least finger-tolerant .
Mobile Shopping List v1.4
Mobile Shopping List is a simple "Finger Friendly" shopping list application skined w/ Sense Interface. Please try.

PocketShopping 1.8
I am using this:
PocketShopping 1.8
from here:
w w w .lopesoft. com
Handy shopper
The Best for me on my HTC HD2 is Handy shopper.
It's a free software very friendly.
Try it
It's here:

See you
Franky
Personally I have been using MiCarrito for shopping, its very finger friendly, easy to use and free.
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-micarrito.html
For tasks, I have been using SenseTasks which has the identical feel of HTC Sense and works absolutely perfect for my tasks. After adding it to my phone, I finally started to use tasks and with the CHT addin, it makes the whole thing seamless like it was part of the original design of the phone.

Has anyone started to use a Daily Dairy on their Tab?
As a professional I make a lot of hourly/daily notes, take photo's and voice notes. As such now I have a Tab I would like to utilize the hardware and use it's multimedia tools to help run my daily dairy.
I have tried doing this using a calendar but it interferes with my day-to-day running and items such as photo's and voice notes is basically a non-starter.
Any recommendations guys?

Have you looked at UM Diary? Not tried it in anger, but it looks pretty good on the Tab.
Regards,
Dave
"Note Everything" by SoftXPerience may be an alternative, depending on how you like your interface. The free version only gets you text, voice, and fingerpainting notes, but the full version also gets you photo notes, checklists, and encryption.
I've also heard good things about Evernote.
There seems to be a lot of option with that one...
Thanks Guys... Couldn't reply earlier, xda-devs was running at overcapacity.
I tried UM Diary last week but had issues with the widgets.
I did like the way it showed the diary in a calendar but it felt disjointed.
Note Everything seems to have things happening all over the place but I'll look into it.
Evernote is a tool that looks like it has too much to offer in what I am looking for but appreciate as above the ideas.
I liked the simplicity of Diary on the SGS but sadly it did not save the notes for backup, did not allow voice notes nor did it offer photo additions.
I suppose what I am seeking is something simple to load, look at and use like the SGS's Diary which can take my notes and thoughts be that written spoken or photographed and have them displayed in a date fashion with a good search tool.
Then again... maybe I have taken away any form of simplicity.
I'm a huge fan of Evernote, I typically use it just to jot down random thoughts or grocery lists, but the tagging feature makes all the difference in the world. It's free, give it a couple days and see if it grows on you. I spent a good month testing note/diary programs and couldn't find anything else even close (with a professional looking interface and such). I doubt I'll ever try anything else.
You are the second user to recommend Evernote.
Can't help but feel it's overkill in what I am looking for.
I don't need any of the tools it offers.
I've come across 'Diaro - diary writing' which is straight to the point, allows unlimited photo's (unlike UM Diary which only allows 2), has an excellent search and you can add all manner of notes ~ be that written, photos, videos, sound, etc.
I'm not totally sold on it though, hence my continued search.
I'll have another look at Evernote.
