Mark Up Phone numbers Postcodes etc on mobile browser - General Questions and Answers

Hi
I'm developing an app that outputs phone numbers and postcodes on the mobile device screen.
It is likely that the user will want to call these numbers or use the postcodes in the built-in satnav.
How can i <markup>the phone number</markup> so that the device allows click to call or send to savnav app.
Having the user write down the number and then call it seems pretty backwards!

TAPI? want to initiate mobile phone calls from desktop app

Hi there,
I am looking for a way to simply click on a phone number in a web app on my desktop and then initiate a phone call with my Trinity.
I am using the IE Skype plugin today, this will enable all numbers on a website to be clickable links and will initiate a skype-out conversation with these numbers. I am looking for something similar for the mobile phone to act like skype would.
Basically this app would have to scan a webpage for numbers of a certain minimum length, display them as links and would then hand the number with a dial routine over to the mobile phone, connected via USB/ActiveSync.
I am just to lazy to type all these phone numbers all the time...
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks a million

(and no, I am not a developer, please don't post code suggestions for me, I wouldn't even know how to read it)

Multiple mobile numbers

How can you add more mobile numbers in your contact? Because you have only one space for a mobile number for each contact. This makes it difficult to send a text message to another mobile number from the same contact.
I think it would require some kind of outlook editor. I don't think its possible to see more than one mobile number per contact, so if you want to use the automatic number fill-in function (or whatever it's called) you probably have to make another entry in your phone book. Not ideal but I don't have that many contact with two mobile phone (and using them). Cheers
Even if you do manage to add more mobile numbers for the same contact, the second one won't sync with outlook on your PC and you won't be able to keep backups. Create a second listing for the same contact and differentiate it with a number or some other way, i.e. John Smith - John Smith 2.

Wildcard in caller ID

Is it possible to have wildcard in caller ID?
The questions is, our company has around 100 outgoing lines, all of them look like this: +1(321)123-45xx, the xx means any number from 00~99. Whenever anyone call out from inside company, the PBX system will call out using anyone of available numbers within the range.
So, on the cell phone side, I want to match all above 100 numbers to my company's name (by add it in Contact), that means no matter which number people calling from our company, the Caller ID screen always display our Company name, instead of the number only.
Of course I could enter all those 100 numbers into several Contact entries, all of them with my company name, however, my clients' companies also use same technique, and it's not practical to create multiple contact entries for multiple companies!
Thus, is it possible to introduce some "Wildcard" into the caller ID mechanism? like +1(321)123-45** in the phone entry, then anything number from this range of number will display the same name?
Is there a program or setting for Android?
Thanks in advance!
Not sure of any native way, but you can see if a phonebook app will let you do it. There is an app called phonebook 2.0 which is kinda nice, not sure if it allows it though. This is a good idea for an app though, it could intercept calls and feed it to the incoming call screen, might delay you receiving calls, however.
still no news on this?
I'm very interested in this topic, especially because I am getting quite a few ad-calls from similar numbers.
I am surprised this is not implemented yet.
I am also interested in this. I have been searching around the internet for a solution but I haven't found any solution. Anyone figure out how to add a range of phone numbers to a single contact without having to add every number manually?
Very good idea. Someone solved it?

[APP][2.3+] Android SMS gateway 0.2.8

Hi,
I have developed a small app, which will turn your mobile in to a SMS gateway (Incoming and Outgoing). Actually I have built this software for one of our web app, which send SMS on user registration or when there is any bill due.
Bulk SMS from web interface
Advance group handling i.e. create multiple groups with 1 million members each
API support (for outgoing and incoming SMS). You can integrate this gateway with your website or desktop application to send SMS on trigger basis. Our API is platform and language independent, therefore you can use it with any programming language like JavaScript (node.js, jquery), Ruby on Rails, PHP, ASP.NET, ASP etc.
Two-way SMS i.e. incoming SMS processing. Check the response rate of your campaign.
Missed Call Service
Delivery Reports
You will be charged only for delivered SMS.
Post-paid billing by your carrier.
Your brand, your number.
Add multiple numbers (SIM/Phone) to build a large cluster.
Send SMS even on DND listed numbers if, they are registered with you.
SMS queuing (i.e. if your mobile can not connect to internet to fetch the data than we will queue the messages till it gets a connection.)
Runs as a gateway i.e. it will work in background on your mobile without interrupting your day to day tasks.
Full control on message sending.
Application can be downloaded from market://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.znisms.bulksms
Once you downloaded the app and registered an account just reply to the welcome mail and I will add a lifetime license on your account (it's free for one month only for a normal user) as my thanks to XDA community from, which I have learnt a lot.
API Details
<Sorry, Not allowed to post links>

Yup! Download the app called Phone Warrior, Not only will it tell you who is calling, it auto blocks spam calls, and you can flag new ones that have not been by the users yet. Its crowd-based and kickass.
Truecall can do this as well. Needs a data connection for real-time identifying of incoming calls, but that's to be expected
Save company name in the suffix.
It's puts a comma between the full name and the company name in your contact list and for phone calls
App named caller informer was doing this. Show any info from your contacts card.
It doesn't work with new Android versions.
Is there any other app can do this?
This app works. Can show any info from address book and even can add notes.
