I have Root my Singapore htc magic by using the unlockr method.
But I am not using the one click unlock method.
I would like to root my phone again with the 1 click root method and flash some new ROM into my magic.
I have seen the unroot method in unlockr but dunno which ruu should I use to unroot..any suggestion?
And any recommendation ROM for me?
My phone details are:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT-1.33.0009 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-3.22.20.17

wrong section. you dont need to unroot. just flash another recovery if you want. i suggest AmonRa's recovery v1.2.3. boot to recovery and flash what ever ROM you want.
I can directly flash the recovery?
And any rom suitable for my spl and radio?

yes you can. your SPL is not the perfected SPL. you should be able to flash the recovery.
get the SDK if you don't. read up on how to use it from the wiki.

no need to change SPL and radio. yours is already good.

i flashed Amon_RA [How-To] Fix perfected SPL (fastboot remote: not allow) from thid thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548218
and i used ROM v2.16.151.1 (NON-Perfected stock SPL v1.33.0009) of course via goldcard/hboot without any problems or errors.
nice thread, but as stated there you must flash "a ROM with a version that is HIGHER than your current ROM version." there is no higher version than 3.03.751.4 which comes with Taiwan or Singapore 1.5 + sense ui
so the only solution right now is to wait for a higher version with a non perfected SPL.
Did you upgrade to Official HTC sense ROM successfully before?

I have tried it with those three rom.
what i got is
Main Version is older.
Update failed.
AFAIK, ROM higher version than singapore with non-perfected spl is not released yet.

Hi,
you are also stuck with perfected spl.
If you want, you can try to fix your SPL by following Amon_ra's fixed perfected spl thread or fastboot into recovery mode.
AFAIK, there is no solution YET to fix that HBOOT-1.76.0007 (SAPP10000).

There are plenty of threads about this. The short answer is that you cannot root this SPL at the moment. All the devs that would have worked on this are now working on the N1 so don't hold your breath waiting for a solution.
If anyone 'claims' to have rooted this ask for a link to the SAPPimg they used.
To be honest that last post is rubbish!
I had that spl AND i rooted it using AMON_RA's tutorial HERE and also HERE
Other that you can search for recovery flasher and use that! I had perfected spl when it came back from repair and its rooted,with dwangs rom on AND engineering spl now..

The only problem I had was finding a compatible SD card to turn into a Goldcard.
For me a Kingston 2GB did the trick where several Sandisk and unbranded cards failed.
I'll add my testimony! I had 1.33.0007 when I received my warranty replacement. I used the goldcard method from the Unlockr! Go here for instructions! The only thing that aggravated me until I figured out how to fix it was the vodafone splash screen... easy fix once I actually looked into it... thingonaspring and bonesy - Your links are much easier to follow than the Unlockr's!
Hi all, all i want is to have the original rom (dutch) rooted.
Atm i have:

I can install different images, but all attempts to just root it with the original 1.6 image failes. I tried the "perfect rooter" software but that didnt work aswell.
Is it possible to root the default image?

I have managed to create a goldcard and apply this engineering spl (Engineerings SPL v1.33.2010 - ROM v2.53.707.2) by Amon_RA in hboot.
After rebooting, the splashscreen has changed to HTC and I now have Android v1.5. Everything went well, so I thought until I went back to fastboot to check on the SPL

I understand I have messed up by applying the wrong SPL. I tried to fastboot "recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.6.2G.img", it hangs at the HTC magic splashscreen.
My questions:
What should one do to obtain s-off g and the appropriate radio?
Should one:
apply a different SPL, say 1.33.2004? < I think this is a google phone engineering SPL?
Or:
Change the radio following Amon_RA Revert to 32B Radio and ROM instructions?
The whole point of me gaining root access is to store applications on the sdcard and have a clean fast ROM.

I am running Amon_RA custom ROM at the moment and it is asking me to activate my T-mobile myTouch 3G phone. Now I could not use gmail because I could not activate via a t-mobile sim card.
Under Settings > About phone > Model number = T-Mobile mytouch 3G
Is there any way I could change this Amon_RA to a vodafone base? or is there anyway to activate google account via wifi like it was in Vodafone?

After turning off and on the phone. I am able to log onto google via wifi
Amon_RA custom ROM is fast! I am enjoying the clean v1.6 android. Way faster than the stock ROM.
Perhaps later I will try Cyanogen ROM

If I ever need to send the phone back to Vodafone - how do I revert back to the stock ROM and SPL?
flash the stock rom (either from your backup or search the web),
flash the stock splash if you have a custom one by then,
flash the perfect SPL back.
That should be it.
