Hello I saw that the market thing has been fixed in his new build which is awsome and that tether options are back which is awsome hugh props to haykuro on that. Has anyone tried the new build 501r3 and have apps on sdcard and had it work. Just got 5.0.2g with apps on sdcard working now.
The market thing hasn't been fixed in the G versions. It was more complicated than he expected, so he released the new G version so people would have wifi tether.
The market is still working on the H builds.
Glad your wifi is working well for you!
I didn't see an answer to what i thought was the question.
I think i read that he is only going to be doing updates on friday? So if that is the case will all updates from here on out be apps to sd?
From the download site it doesn't say that 5.0.1r3 is apps to sd?
I dont want to assume anything here.
Haykuro has moved alll the Apps-to-SD updates to megaupload due to space restrictions.
http://code.google.com/p/sapphire-port-dream/
Check out the first entry posted. There should be links to the H and G apps-to-sd versions.
As of now there is not an apps 2 sd release. This latest r3 will probably receive an apps 2 sd shortly so enjoy your current software and give a nice donation to haykuro while we wait.
Im runnin 5.0Hr2 apps 2 sd and will be waiting with you.
The site mentioned above is where it will be when its released.

Yes. there is. At the above mentioned link.
I see it now. Thanks. It is off to the left.
Thanks again.
Yeh i was looking to stick with an h build because as preiously pointed out g is still not working on market and i miss wifi tether options . Lol . I saw the link for 501gr3 with apps on sd card but 503h is missing apps to sd card yet . But for now again major props for haykuro and will be awaitng apps to sd . Thanks guys
What's changed from 5.0.2Hr2 to 5.0.2Hr3?
Rick
check his site he keeps a good change log just i was confused since there was a apps to sd for g and not h and though or my thinking was that it was apps to sd but on can't assume.
just go here for all data about his builds

To answer your question
Just got home from school guys, i have to go to work at 5 (it’s 4:14 PM now).
The update will be up a bit after work (i get off at 10 PM [GMT-5]).
Please be patient..
Update will definitely include wifi tethering support (both H and G).
Market fix i have to finish playing with when i get back, but i did manage to download 10 consecutive apps on the new G build..
see you all later.
I saw that, but I am using r2 and tethering for root users and the market both already work for me.
I went to download r3 (just now) and there is an error. File missing.
Rick
market thing
so what exactly is the "market thing"? Since 3 or 4 days I can't download apps anymore. I can still search for apps and click "install". But then always the animated download bar starts moving and never stops... I had this issue first with 4.5 then updated to 5.0.1Gr3 and still no luck. I even stopped using apps on sd and switched back to a plain install. Is this the so called market bug???

Yes. Haykuro has been trying to get the market working with the G builds, but he has found it more complicated than he first thought.
How to cgange ROM with apps on SD
I have one technical question. If I'll install ROM version with apps on SD and put them on it, then I wont install next Haykuro soft (update), should I uninstall apps from SD or back them to the phone? Or just flash new ROM, format SD and copy new apps on SD?? I'm not sure what should I do. Last time when I put apps on SD with JF ROM I had to visit service, after changing ROM Please, somebody who knows the matter answer my question, I'll be very glad

Android 2.0.1-r5v0.6
Dead:
==============
After spending some time and looking over this rom and ways to make it work with out any legal issues. The most viable option was to build something like what cynanogen has built. His process takes the proprietary bits (all google apps including sync) and copies them off onto the SD card before doing a update. After the update it copies them back to the newly installed rom. This method basically does a automated backup/restore of your licensed applications. I can't do this for several reasons including that we are supposed to be coming from a 1.5 OS to a 2.0.1, which isn't compatible with the older application set.
Temporarily Offline:
==============
I am sorry to have to do this but we are now having more then just a small handful goofing with this ROM and I need to take this offline while I inspect each of the parts and make sure all licensing is in order since its a bit more then the google Opensource framework. I know that several other ROM creators have not paid much attention to it as I am going to now but I really don't want to upset any IP holders like what happened to Cynanogen a couple months back.
I will put it back up but I want to make sure that I am totally covered and don't have any issues.
version 0.6: download (offline)
==============
-fixed wifi thanks to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=593620
-Now starts up with Android stock keyboard. (No longer needs HTC_IME.apk for second keyboard)
A few have asked for this ROM so I thought I would put it up here for anyone that wants to contribute to or take from it.
This ROM is only compatible with the Sprint CDMA HTC Hero. It is not finished and still requires some work but its good enough for my day to day use and I am sure others may find the same potential.
This ROM is vanilla android and what it takes to actually get it running on a CDMA phone. It is built off of this GSM variant. I am going to try and work to remove the google bits so that you can use Cynanogens method of extracting your own and then doing a follow up update to install them. My efforts for this is not to build a better rom but to build a cleaner base that has limited to no proprietary IP.
Credits to all on this forum how have helped or contributed in any way to building the roms that are here. I would point out names but there are to many to name. I am positive that anyone that pays attention to this forum will know who you are. I used many parts of these ROM's and many others on XDA to build this one.
This is my first ROM and was primarily made for myself to help me learn how to create a custom ROM.
Here is the link to my blog where I originally posted about this and a video of it booting.
Here is the Youtube video of it booting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRTh-rXKe-E
*Warning*: Don't attempt to flash this ROM onto anything else unless you know what you are doing! I am not responsible for any device malfunctions or "Bricks".
Notes on Installing:
- Run a Nandroid backup before you do anything.
- Make sure you do a full wipe first. (Sorry )
- Run the update zip found * Version 0.6 *(offline) from the recovery console.
To get the HTC keyboard installed: (Now Optional as of Version 0.6)
- Follow the instructions here.
Things that don't work:
- Gallery some times has issues.
- Camera
- Wired or Wireless Tethering (Now Testing)
- Orientation
- Trackball light
- Trackball click (Rolling and moving are fine)
- (Let me know if something else needs to go here.)
Possible issues that are not repeatable:
- speaker not working on out bound calls? I made 30 test calls to my home phone and was not able to replicate this issue. Needs to be verified (see here)

So you installed both the HTC_IME.apk and the Clicker.apk? Did you do a adb push or a adb install?
Try and go into settings --> Language & Keyboard --> Touch Input --> Text Input?
I think its a force of habit with out really thinking to go there and calibrate but just going there may help.
Try that and let me know.
i just flashed it and pushed the keyboard and calibration app through adb and all is well. its working awesome. Thanks!!!

I would do an install or transfer them to your SD card and grab a app like Astro from the market to install them. Don't worry we will get you worked out.

Thanks, but I really can't take to much credit. Its a "Pick and Pull" from several ROMs. This one actually came from our GSM Brothers and then I used the CDMA tricks in this form to make it work.
I keep watching and playing with the Google Nexus Dumps. I would really like to get one of them up and running.
Based on your posting and replies I assume you are re-using the 2.6.27 kernel like the other roms?

Wow thats allot in a little space.
What I gather is that it originally booted, then after trying to install via droid explorer and then astro it now just dies after the lockscreen.
I am not sure where to start. I would just say to do a full wipe, then a clean install. Then if you have the sdk try the ADB install method as Cynanogen's post talks about.
I am working on trying to get the stock Android keyboard to work. If we can figure out that then we don't have to mess with the HTC one.
ok i got it i just adb pushed them to system/app works great

Yeah, actually some of your work if I remember correctly, thats why its got the same issues. My first goal when I built this for my self was to get past the blasted google bits sync loop. The more I worked into it the more I moved on to the 2.0.1 build with some of your stuff in it.
Your welcome to anything I have learned, its really not my work.
I've worked on this latest release of DamageControl 2.06 and I am proud to present to you my Lite version!
Basically, so you know exactly what I've done, read the following:
I have not changed any other code inside of this ROM except for the default apps that install with DC 2.06. These apps include the following:
Stocks
Stock Widget
Sprint Navigation
HTC Twitter
Twitter Widget
EPST
Flickr
HTC Navi Panel
HTC Ringtone Trimmer
Sprint NFL
Sprint Nascar
Sprint TV
Sprint TV Widget
Instead of completely removing these apps, with special help from regaw_leinad, we were able to get this ROM to load all of the above named apps to your SD card. They're not installed on the phone at all, so you have complete control over which ones you want to install and which ones you don't want at all.
I've also added an app called APK Installer, which will let you install any of the apps that I removed from the ROM. APK Installer will install automatically when you flash this ROM. Once your Hero boots after flashing DC 2.06 Lite, you can go into your apps drawer and select APK Installer, then click on Install. All of the apps I removed from the actual install are in here. The actual files are located in your SD card, inside the /download/ folder. If you're not going to use one or more of the apps in there, ever, it is safe to remove them completely from the SD card.
Now, you WILL need to wipe data and dalvik before flashing this ROM. Also, make a nand backup just in case!
Nothing else was changed in this ROM aside from the above mentioned, and this ROM will still work with Damageless's DCUpdater app!
Credit goes 98% to Damageless for the release of this ROM, 1% to regaw_leinad for helping me make this possible, and 1% to me for the ideas, some work, and releasing Lite.

thanks for the ROM!

Oh, and will I also have to wipe cache and data if using DCUpdater?
You aren't able to download my version through DCUpdater, and yes, you'd have to wipe cache/data before flashing Lite.
As far as speed... the only thing this will do is not install the 13 Apps I removed... it frees up internal storage as well as internal memory usage.
My assumption would be: the less that's stored in internal memory, the less time
it takes to load what's running?
Might I suggest moving the alarms, notifications, and ringers folders to the SD card as well? I have been doing this manually with every ROM I have flashed ever since I learned to do it from Regaw.

Yeah that is pretty cool. I think I'll make an update that you can flash to change this up, too. Not sure yet, I will update and let yall know.
Okay so I just put the 2.3 on my HTC Incredible, I've tried all the different market.apk files I could fine. But every single on had the same issue. It would install correctly. But when you tried to open. It would pop up but then disappear behind the Home Scene. If someone knows the fix for this. Or a different 2.3 rom that doesn't have this issue please let me know. Currently using CM 7.0.3. Thanks guys!
Why didn't you just download the gapps if you wanted the marketplace?
You can get the market and all the other gapps here http://android.d3xt3r01.tk/cyanogen/gapps/gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip
Just place it on your sdcard and flash it over. That's your best bet to get it working plus then you'll have gmail etc as well.
Hi guys, I am new here so try to be gentle.
This was the first time I've ever tried to do something with my phone (Nexus S) from the day I've bought it. (Ver 2.3.4)
I did my homework, and tried to install a new Mod.
I have tried many Roms from the last couple of days, but for some strange reason non of them worked fast enough (at least as my old version).
(well and the fact that it erased my SD card with all the info I've had there...)
The one version that looked ok from first sight was:
CyanogenMod 9 v4.0.3 v3.4 + CM Night builds
Now I'm having lots of different issues, and have no idea if someone already solved them, or should I just return to the working old version I had.
The first thing is -> I cannot move Apps to the SD storage, Under the Storage cattegory i have no option to choose to install apps on the SD (like I had with the old version), and under Apps - the "move to SD card" is Grey.
another thing is the languages, why do I see Chinese and other langauged by default and Im unable to uncheck them?
there are many more issues, but these are the most annoying ones for now.
I cannot reply to the version thread, so who can advice?
Thanks!
There are MANY roms for the Nexus. You just have to try a few and find one to your liking. The Chinese text you were talking about might of been an MIUI rom. They are based from China. When you go through the setup screen on each rom after you flash, make sure you choose the appropriate language to your liking.
On another hand. If you tried an ICS rom, then I think apps to sd don't work on Ice Cream Sandwich. I am not 100% sure, though. Please don't take my word for it.
Some roms might have bugs, some might work 100%. Just do the reading and flashing and learn from experience. Its the best way.
BTW. Welcome to XDA!
Well not quite.

The MOD is the most recent CM9 mod, (named in the topic).
I dont see why is it related with the fact I cannot uncheck the unneeded language like Chinese.
but the language part is not much of an issue like the SD card.
I am not trying to run old Apps, since my SD was formatted during the upgrade,
I am trying to move - or choose where to install current apps, ability I had before this Version.
I have an image to attache, but I cannot since I am a new member.
any reason why other mods for the same phone were working very slow? (Clean installation)
thanks for the quick reply.
The ability to move/force all apps to to SD or pick a default install location is not included in the rom yet. Do it manually with a app if you want to move something to SD that doesn't support being moved there.

I have d/l couple of apps that move to usb, they all say apps cannot be moved to the SD, those apps (like facebook) were already on my SD with the old version.
Just because the old version allowed to move them to SD that does not mean the apps support it. Again since the feature to do it within the rom itself is not there yet you have to do it manually with a third party app. Titanium backup or one of the who knows how many root apps2sd apps will move it

Got it, thanks.
another thing, when unlocking the device I have two options.
one is to unlock, and the other one is the camera.
Q: 1. can i switch the camera with something else?
2. I have seen roms with 4 -5 -6 different options to unlock, how can I have this feature?
thanks again.
That is a feature built into that rom. Cyan doesn't have it yet. Not sure what options they are planning to add to lock screen . Just a place holder for now in settings. There are lock screen replacements on the market you could install if you like.
Try CNA or the more stable CM7.2
CM9 made by Kalim doesn't have these features right now. You could try a different ROM called "Codename Android" (CNA) which is based on ICS.
However, all these ROMs are not in their final stage. A better choice to try would be the CyanogenMod 7.2 for NS. I was using it while I was on GB, works wonders, although expect BSOD some times...
Enjoy the testing!
