DEVS...MAN UP or SHUT UP! 8)

This Dev infighting is getting really old.
The recent "he said she said" board wars have reminded me of a childhood situation we have all experienced... in short.. "Its my ball, and I'm going home!"
I remember how much this attitude disgusted me even at 5 years old, and it's only gotten worse as I age.
It's beyond impossible to deduce who is at fault and who is a victim of all this finger pointing, a situation we have all experienced in a typical MMO raid situation.
Most of us figured out real quick how pointless infighting is, the ones who didn't faded away and became non-players, I pray the same result doesn't arise from our current XDA situation.
Man up peeps, don't sweat the small stuff, because it doesn't matter, life is too short!! 8)

most of these devs seem to be just file movers..
though this thread is doesnt really have much to do with android development, i agree.

Ya well the Dev's are mostly on this board, what point is there in posting a topic many of us are sick of dealing with on a board no dev's ever read? Either way it will probably get moved unless the Mod's see my point, I state important points! 8)

Just happened to be browsing the forums and ran across it. I believe the only reason any of this was kicked up from the dirt was because i revealed that Drizzy was actually HardDaez, the original dbag whom my comments towards i will hold back, and this sparked community retaliation. It's not so much "inside dev fighting" as it is "community stoning." It's YOU guys trying to shun the fakes from the real cold-blooded devs.
In my honest opinion, cyanogen has EVERYONE beat. The guy pretty much reinvented android, and injected it with all sorts of steroids; but that's just my two cents.
Back on topic, sure, blame the devs; but in the end, as you guys said, who really posts in these forums? YOU do.

Nothing wrong with that especially when he server I am hosting the site on is $99 a month If someone appreciates what I am doing they have the opportunity to show it in the form of helping me cover cost.
Definitely will be the start of something good, but it seems that nobody wants their work to be discovered by people who may not have a clue what XDA is.

Aren't the DEV's who are here, here due to the fact that XDA is where most everyone gravitates to for this type of information and MOD's?

I do not think he is trying to take people away from XDA. More like helping to double the exposure. Kinda like, you can go to Sony's website and buy stuff there or you can go to Best buy and get it there.

Yeah but you don't see blue/yellow shirted best buy employees standing IN sony stores telling people they have the product also!

I understand your point. However he is, in his own way, trying to help the devs get exposure. His donate button is just that a donate button. It says no where that they have to pay to play. If this is not the case then I will eat my words but that is the way I see it.

Try to make it so Individual accounts can be browsed, Just makes it easier to look for what you need or want

I don't think there is any thing wrong with this. I use google reader to access daily information and when something pops up I come here for more information. This is where most information starts.

I myself have NEVER said a word about a donate button on ANY dev's rom or anything, so the last thing that needs to happen here is false accusations.

In reply to this I would like to first off state "To each his own". That's your opinion and I cannot change it but I can put the honest facts out there to clear up your attempt at making my work look like criminal.
First off, I don't really care about 'taking' people from XDA> Not my intention. If you would take a second and read the first post, you'll notice that I am offering accounts on my website to increase exposure to traffic that may not even know what XDA is!!! Now, that should have stopped your remarks right there, but I won't even jump into that bandwagon.
Think of it this way, since you seem to like to use analogies. I worked at Radio Shack who sold Sprint cell phones. Some of my customers had never been to a sprint store, but I got sprint that exposure cuz I was a beast at selling phones back in the day. Was I stealing people from Sprint? Hell no. In fact, I was guiding them TO Sprint!
Here's another one. I currently work online as a webmaster, and I own probably 20 websites. I market certain products for certain people/companies, and the surfers come and buy. Am I stealing them customers? Nope, I think not.

Lets get real people. Phones like the G1, myTouch 3G and Nexus One did NOT have a ton of development from the get go. They took months before multiple ROM's, custom Launcher's, custom App's, themes and so on were available. If you were a late bloomer to any of the phones (3+ months after release) then you would not know this and you would not know that ROM development does NOT happen overnight. So STOP whining. Guys like G8gorilla, persiansown and teamsilence (to name a few) are NOT here for YOUR benefit. They develop ROM's, MOD's, and changes because it is what THEY want to do to THEIR phone. They decide to share it with you because that is the type of people they are. Sometimes, some of us, donate to them to thank them for their time, BUT THAT IS IS, ITS A DONATION FOR A THANKS, NOT PAYMENT.
If you do not like the Development we have in just 3 weeks of release on this phone, then BUY A FRIGGIN NEXUS!!!!! And quit whining. If you bought this phone based solely on the development capabilities, then friggin learn how to develop, stop putting it on other members and again, QUIT WHINING!!!!

I bought this phone for the hardware and how much my MyTouch3G lasted. I will be patient and wait for the development, everyone should as well. If your not gonna be patient go buy a subpar G2 or N1.

This phone is not need to be in development. It always has all things. We got S-OFF and perma-root. We can delete crap stock apps, can modify system.
If will Android 2.3 released, we will get it, cause T-Mobile cares about customers last time (not all time, but release Android 2.2 for MT3G family - it's a great action)
What do you want whine-boys? SenseUI? MotoBlur? Samsung Home?
If yes, why did you buy MyTouch 4G?

Just little "hear hear" from the perspective of a developer. Devs are not here as your servants. if you want something developed, do it yourself. People will help you out, if you ask for help, and give the info needed to answer it.
If you're here to hassle developers, and flame, don't do it here. Developers do this for fun, and are more than entitled to abandon the device and move to one where they're more appreciated.
So don't shoot yourselves in the feet here folks. look after your devs, and they'll look after you.

You have a very good point, truth be told, I got the phone cause of the hardware and the main thing I want is stock android cause I like how it looks and want to use my wiimote lol but otherwise I can honestly say I am satisfied and if I knew how to develop I would but im grateful for those who do put in their hard work.

Like the dumb NOOB that i am i bricked my G-Tab less than 6 hours of owning it. And with the help of Roebeet I was able not only to un-brick but I rooted and installed TNT LITE and this thing is amazing. R.I.F (reading is fundamental) I learned the hard way ........TNT LITE 5.0 is evil stick with 4.0 series.

TNT lite is not evil. It needs to be taken seriously just like any rom. This isn't tea and crumpets with your grandma. It's bleading edge, break your sh!t if you don't read and follow instructions, alfa firmware.
Glad you got it fixed but it seems a lot of people are learning the hard way lately.

Thanks Roebeet..I used tnt light 5.01 no problem....only changed roms because he declared 5.01 dead....I thank you for your contribution but anyone who bricks their device needs to blame themselves not 5.01 or Roebeet...by the way I have owned my gtab for less then a week

Bought My Gtab Dec 28th, 2010. Immediately installed CW and then went thru almost all ROMS (TTlite, Cyanogen, Vegan). Liked Vegan. But, throughout I have been impressed how easy and doable (even for a novice) to do these flashes.
My power cord adapter internal plug died, sent to Viewsonic they returned it after 1 week. I had Vegan on there. But I asked them to flash back to Vanilla TNT and they did! Anyhoo, after trying to do videochat I realized Vanilla was udder junk.
And tried putting CW on again, it got corrupted. But then I saw the de-brick NVFLASH method, and now Vegan ginger is loading for the 1st time. Thanks for all your help, its truly impressive.

Since I am famous for telling touching stories, here is another one.
So, years ago when I lived in another city with my girl friend (yes, back when I had an honest to god real girl friend), one time I fell terribly ill. I couldn't stop coffing and was bed-bound for a week. My girl friend was very sweet and took care of me. For my coughing, she made this special tea for me. Being an asshole that I was, after I tried the tea I started telling her how it didn't help at all and all that crap.
The roms provided to us by the devs here are like the special tea that my ex-girl friend made for me. And all those who complain about the roms are like the old me who was ungrateful.
Amy, if by some remote possibility you're reading this I'm sorry.
For all those who complain because you bricked your tab by not following the instructions right, I highly suggest you sell your gtab and buy an ipad. Don't be an a-hole like I was.

Actually, if you tell him how much you donated, he'll give you back the money. I told him I donated 1,000 big ones and holy cow I just recieved 1,000 in my paypal account. It was in Somali Shilling, though.

Wheres the ICX game launcher gone?

What happened to the ICX game launcher. I looked on their website and couldn't find it and the threads closed, did they scrap it?

Good question.
I remember DeanBoro said that his Xperia PLAY's screen was broken, but that was like half a week after the topic was closed by request.
I do hope it eventually comes together soon though (and by soon, I definitely don't mean Gameloft's interpretation of the word) because I'd done nearly everything but completely delete the official launcher in anticipation of this customizable one.

I messaged DeanBoro about it after I saw the thread closed and this was his response.
"This is still under development but it is slow development at this moment because I am no longer working on it as my Play has been broken. HOWEVER another member of the team is working on it but ICX have alot of things to do at this moment in time i will inform you if there is any progress."
So I will be patient and if it comes out it comes out.

Thanks for posting this jgregoryj1.
As he quoted above. My play has been shattered and as I don't really have an income of any sort at this moment in time apart from college allowance I do not have funds at this moment (£50) which is needed to repair the phone screen. Therefore I have handed the project over to a good friend of mine who has continued development of it although the development is slow as he has many things on his plate at this moment in time.
I would say give it another 1-2 weeks and there should be a updated thread of his with information about the Launcher. ALSO I know hes a very talented developer therefore I think he will most likely port it to all android phones.

It's been almost 3 weeks, no news?

I no longer own the Xperia Play so therefore I do not have any content left to associate with the community.
However like I said I give the source to a friend of mine and if he decides he wants to continue development then he has all rights to =]

fma965 I will only release the source code to certain people who I know can make this go somewhere, such as Nick. If he wants the source he can have it.

Hi Nick, DeanBoro, just wondering how this was going or if it still is...? Not asking for ETA, just curious if it is still being developed on........ so we as a community know its not abandoned, and if it let us know. I told you guys this project would end up being vaporware. That became obvious after we were told it was almost ready for release and then nothing happened.

Yep same new it wasn't coming because they made up released dates about 5 times and it was apparently so close to being finished but was never released so it was probably bull **** lol.

Everybody on these forums has a life
Projects are started some go to completion and some dont
Promises are made some are kept and some aren't
I am sure that always with the best of intentions
Everything is provided for you free of charge be grateful if you get it, be understanding if you don't.
I f you really want it go and learn and do it yourself, the same way the developers did. and then you can share it with us.
Or maybe you won't finish your project and then I can say that you lie and are full of s**t and we will see how you feel about it.

Agreed.. could not have said it better. With attitudes like that its a wonder devs make anything at all. When I enquired to DeanBoro some time ago about this he replied to my email and said that I was the only one he replied to because it was a sincere enquiery, his mesage box was full of ungrateful jerks chewing him out for not having released this ICX Game Launcher. Also DeanBoro does NOT have a Xperia PLAY anymore as his broke and he has no means of getting a replacement jsut yet so PEOPLE STOP B!TCHING, he did say several times that he had turned the project over to another trusted developer that is on the ICX team but that due to time and other responsibilities whether or not it gets released is out of his hands..............nuff said....
SO BE PATIENT............ I will continue every now and then enquire on this thread in hopes of some news but I am not going to write up a$$hole remarks, if people want to be like that why dont YOU work on it, then when people realize that its a difficult time consuming task and its not released others can harp on you about it....PATIENCE goes a LLLLLOOOOONNNNNNGGGGG WWWWAAAAAYYYYY, and you'll live longer......

Actually, you make a good point. However, I didn't say anything bad about the devs. I only said the app was vaporware - meaning that, while the devs may have had good intentions, the app was never released. After several promised release dates came and went, it became pretty obvious this was a tougher nut to crack than first imagined. Then the main dev ran into hardware issues. Then there were NO ETAs and no news coming out for weeks. Thus it became obvious the project had been shelved. So... Vaporware.
No disrespect intended to the devs. Heck, I'd rather have them working on ROMs any day.

i'm a 3rd year computer science student. Any chance I could have the source code? I might not be able to make much happen with it, but I might be able to finish it off.
