MMS pix size in AT&T Tilt is so small... - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Is there any way to zoom more when attempting to view MMS pictures sent by non-VGA phones?

Try this it works on my Fuze for small pics I used to recieve.

Unfortunately, this didn't work on my AT&T Fuze. In that post you referenced, that Fuze was on T-mobile.
I remember hearing that each carrier had different types (brands?) of MMS gateways, so maybe that has something to do with it.
Appreciate it, though!

receiving small/tiny/thumbnail mms/media messaging photos/pictures

Sorry for the title but i am trying to make this thread as "findable"?? as possible , in case it answers a really bugging problem I and i think a lot of others have after researching into this!
I have been using a Hermes (black majick windows mobile 6 ROM) and now a Kaiser (HTC's own WM6 English ROM) on O2 and i have never been able to receive full screen pictures/photos via mms. I can send them ok and others receive them full screen on phones like HTC, sony, etc.
For example, my sister has a Hermes - Trion from O2 with WM6 and she can receive full screen mms from me. When she or anyone else sends me a mms file which might 50kb, i receive it as a tiny image and it is shrunk down to 3-5kb.
So i am guessing there is something that needs to change in my MMS settings/registry, but i have no idea where and what it could be.
Can anyone shed some light on this please?
Would appreciate this a lot as my wife keeps sending me mms photos at work of our new born baby and the size of the photos are no bigger than my thumb very depressing
I have similar annoyances but in my case it's due to the operator. We have only two GSM operators here in Oman.
One operator allows VGA-sized photos in MMS messages, up to 100KB in size but they also charge a lot for each MMS. (100 KB for a VGA-sized photo gives quite good quality.)
The other operator always shrinks all photos to thumbnail size, usually not more than 10KB in size but they are cheap! But cheap is not always good. For the peanuts we're paying for their MMS messages we get sh*t!

Small MMS Pictures solved

I recently switched to the HTC S710 using T-Mobile USA. When I received a picture in an MMS, it was very small. I had to fix a similar problem with my T-Mobile Wing. The registry settings are different though. Here are the ones that worked for me:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ArcSoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader]
"User-Agent"="prodigy/arcsoft-mmsua-ppc-3.0.0.xx"
"Profile"="http://www.htcmms.com.tw/gen/vox-1.0.xml"
"Accept-Charset"="us-ascii, utf-8, iso-10646-ucs-2, ISO-8859-1"
"Accept"="application/vnd.wap.mms-message;*/*;"
"Accept-Language"="en"
I joined just to thank you for posting this. What a PITA to track down... here are some keywords to hopefully make someone else's search easier.

mms help
First off where did you find software specifically for us cellular? second I have heard, myself included, you can receive which of course is free because it is incoming, but are unable to send. As far as I have been able to find...there is not a work around for this. If you happen across one....please do us all a favor and post it please!
USCC MMS
If I'm guessing right...

Problem with mms picture messaging

PROBLEM WITH MMS PICTURE MESSAGING
When i receive a picture message it says something like 150 kb then i press download...then when i go to look at the picture that it downloads its somewhere around 3-6kb and super tiny...is there any 3rd party mms messengers that I can use? HTC could not help me at all...and Tmobile couldn't help me either...both companies were dumbfounded. I have a HTC Fuze unlocked from ATT but using it on Tmobile...any help would be appreciated.
I'm bumping this one up to the top too. I'm having the same problem. I can send them at 150k, but receive them as 5k. I had the same issue with my 8525 until I found 2 cabs that fixed the problem. I haven't found anything for this Fuze yet.
I flashed the EliteRC4 and my MMS is working properly. I'm not sure what the difference is in the Chrome ROM and EliteRC4 ROM, but MMS works properly for me on T-Mobile now.
Picture MMS Messaging on WM6.5 for Raphael (AT&T Fuze) on TMobile
Has anyone been able to figure out the picture messaging (MMS) on any WM6.5 ROM for the AT&T Fuze that actually receives the pictures at full size instead of thumbnails on T-Mobile for the US?
I haven't been able to flash one WM6.5 ROM yet that the MMS works like it's supposed to and actually receives the pictures full size.
I found a fix for the thumbnail size MMS pictures
Here we go, I found the fix for the small MMS pics. Install this cab, soft reset the phone and it worked for me.
Thank you so much.
O2 MMS
Hi, I have searched all over XDA for a solution, and none so far have worked. I can only receive pictures at 3k no matter how big they are sent. I've tried the above .cab file and no joy.
Please Please Please can somebody help.
I'm running TCP's V3.1ROM with manilla 2.1, win 6.5 build 23017 hybrid & Radio 1.14.25.05 with O2 pre pay.

Cannot recieve mms from iphone users.

So I can send mms no problemo however I cannot receive from particular people. Those particular people tend to be iphone 4 users. People with the older iphone seem to be fine. It's really only like 4 people but it's annoying.
My carrier is Wind Mobile.
android 2.3.4
kernel 2.635.7
all up to date and what not.

Personally, not getting messages from iPhone users would be a feature and not a problem...
However, I would call into tech support as this seems to be a carrier issue and not a phone issue.

LOL
Can they receive mms from you? Maybe their phone is sending it in a format your phone doesn't understand? Maybe iPhones can only talk to other iPhones because they think they're better than everyone else.

it's the opposite for me. I can receive pictures from my friend with an iphone, but they can't receive pictures from me. it says that the pictures are in a format that doesn't work or something
I forgot the details but reading your reply made me remember something. I remember in sending a text with a picture attachment, sometimes my phone would want to send it in a format that android phones understands as a slide show. I forgot how to get it, if possible, to send it as a regular picture. Don't send multiple pictures in one text, that will most definitely send it as a slide show. I forget if it's opening up the messaging program and select through menu to get an attachment or to use something like root explorer or quickpic and hold down on the file and select send then choose messaging. All pictures seem to be compressed heavily when sending with a text. If there was a picture that I didn't want compressed, I would just send it as an email to the other person if possible. I forgot what file types are allowed to be sent with a mms text. Try different combinations and methods of sending it, you might stumble across the way that sends it as a jpg or jpeg or whatever and not a slideshow pic. I think my htc evo and evo shift were notorious for that. I would try to send a pic to someone with a samsung android and they didn't know what to do with it or it was unknown file type or what. I think I figured out a way around that but forgot what I did.
I have the same issue with my wife's iPhone. If there is text and an image in one message I just get the text, as a caption, with a blank image. If she does not include text, I can see the image fine. So when she sends me a pictures I have to ask her to not put any text as a "caption."
I think it's possibly this is because iPhone assumes everyone only uses iPhones too. Typical of Apple philosophy to implement their own standards instead of universal standards.
If that's true then it's good to know for future reference.
