receiving small/tiny/thumbnail mms/media messaging photos/pictures - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Sorry for the title but i am trying to make this thread as "findable"?? as possible , in case it answers a really bugging problem I and i think a lot of others have after researching into this!
I have been using a Hermes (black majick windows mobile 6 ROM) and now a Kaiser (HTC's own WM6 English ROM) on O2 and i have never been able to receive full screen pictures/photos via mms. I can send them ok and others receive them full screen on phones like HTC, sony, etc.
For example, my sister has a Hermes - Trion from O2 with WM6 and she can receive full screen mms from me. When she or anyone else sends me a mms file which might 50kb, i receive it as a tiny image and it is shrunk down to 3-5kb.
So i am guessing there is something that needs to change in my MMS settings/registry, but i have no idea where and what it could be.
Can anyone shed some light on this please?
Would appreciate this a lot as my wife keeps sending me mms photos at work of our new born baby and the size of the photos are no bigger than my thumb very depressing

I have similar annoyances but in my case it's due to the operator. We have only two GSM operators here in Oman.
One operator allows VGA-sized photos in MMS messages, up to 100KB in size but they also charge a lot for each MMS. (100 KB for a VGA-sized photo gives quite good quality.)
The other operator always shrinks all photos to thumbnail size, usually not more than 10KB in size but they are cheap! But cheap is not always good. For the peanuts we're paying for their MMS messages we get sh*t!

Storage concerns regarding SMS - thousands of them

I'm really interested in getting one of these phones, I currently have a Blue Angel which has about 15000 sms messages on it. I'd like to transfer these onto the device so I have a copy of my texting past (thoughts on the possibility of this would be gratefully recieved). I also get a good 2000 texts or so a month - Is this going to be an issue on this phone? Can it handle the storage of so many texts? Is there anyway to change the settings to allow the storage of the messages on the miniSD card?
Anyone know the answers to any of these questions?
Thanks in advance
You get around 70 texts a day?!
Carumba.
Maybe some kind of teleprinter would be a better option than a new phone?
Give or take, most of my texts are 2 or 3 texts long - i.e. well over the 160 limit hence the amount.
I think that will probably change a bit now i have a smaller screen and don't have a qwerty keyboard - I get into the mindset i'm sending emails.
::Edit::
Just adding now that i've just read the review on mobiletechreview (http://www.mobiletechreview.com/phones/imate_sp5m.htm) and noticed it says that you can only send texts up to 640characters (4 texts) this would also be a problem, any ideas if this can be modified with a registry edit or something?

Small MMS Pictures solved

I recently switched to the HTC S710 using T-Mobile USA. When I received a picture in an MMS, it was very small. I had to fix a similar problem with my T-Mobile Wing. The registry settings are different though. Here are the ones that worked for me:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ArcSoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader]
"User-Agent"="prodigy/arcsoft-mmsua-ppc-3.0.0.xx"
"Profile"="http://www.htcmms.com.tw/gen/vox-1.0.xml"
"Accept-Charset"="us-ascii, utf-8, iso-10646-ucs-2, ISO-8859-1"
"Accept"="application/vnd.wap.mms-message;*/*;"
"Accept-Language"="en"
I joined just to thank you for posting this. What a PITA to track down... here are some keywords to hopefully make someone else's search easier.

Problem with mms picture messaging

PROBLEM WITH MMS PICTURE MESSAGING
When i receive a picture message it says something like 150 kb then i press download...then when i go to look at the picture that it downloads its somewhere around 3-6kb and super tiny...is there any 3rd party mms messengers that I can use? HTC could not help me at all...and Tmobile couldn't help me either...both companies were dumbfounded. I have a HTC Fuze unlocked from ATT but using it on Tmobile...any help would be appreciated.
I'm bumping this one up to the top too. I'm having the same problem. I can send them at 150k, but receive them as 5k. I had the same issue with my 8525 until I found 2 cabs that fixed the problem. I haven't found anything for this Fuze yet.
I flashed the EliteRC4 and my MMS is working properly. I'm not sure what the difference is in the Chrome ROM and EliteRC4 ROM, but MMS works properly for me on T-Mobile now.
Picture MMS Messaging on WM6.5 for Raphael (AT&T Fuze) on TMobile
Has anyone been able to figure out the picture messaging (MMS) on any WM6.5 ROM for the AT&T Fuze that actually receives the pictures at full size instead of thumbnails on T-Mobile for the US?
I haven't been able to flash one WM6.5 ROM yet that the MMS works like it's supposed to and actually receives the pictures full size.
I found a fix for the thumbnail size MMS pictures
Here we go, I found the fix for the small MMS pics. Install this cab, soft reset the phone and it worked for me.
Thank you so much.
O2 MMS
Hi, I have searched all over XDA for a solution, and none so far have worked. I can only receive pictures at 3k no matter how big they are sent. I've tried the above .cab file and no joy.
Please Please Please can somebody help.
I'm running TCP's V3.1ROM with manilla 2.1, win 6.5 build 23017 hybrid & Radio 1.14.25.05 with O2 pre pay.

MMS pix size in AT&T Tilt is so small...

Is there any way to zoom more when attempting to view MMS pictures sent by non-VGA phones?
Try this it works on my Fuze for small pics I used to recieve.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4237488
Unfortunately, this didn't work on my AT&T Fuze. In that post you referenced, that Fuze was on T-mobile.
I remember hearing that each carrier had different types (brands?) of MMS gateways, so maybe that has something to do with it.
Appreciate it, though!

Is T mobile re-sizing our pictures through text???

I take a normal 3-4 meg picture and when I send it using Google messenger it compresses it to 30-45kb, yea, KB!
This is horrid and embarrassing when people actually get said picture. Its such terrible quality. My friend on Tmobile with his Iphone looked to have the same issue a week ago when we were testing.
Is there some setting here? OR is this going to be Tmobile's new thing?
It's not tmobile only, mms have some standards and one of them is that they cannot carry big amounts of data (3-4mb). every phone does it whether on tmobile or some other carrier, its built into the phone and therefore into the messaging app. The phone has to compress the image in order to be able to send it. Thats why I use whats app or any other internet based messaging system(imessage, hangouts, etc) when I send any photo
maybe I should rephrase
This isn't my first rodeo, I've done enough with phones over the many years to understand exactly how it works, but this is the first time they have ever compressed a 3-4 meg picture down to 20-40kb, for example on AT&T and Verizon during my testing its at least double that for the same size picture, if not even more , many times compressing it to a 200-350kb size picture. @ 40kb the picture is not even really recognized..
do the test now, take a picture high res. and send it to someone, check the size of the photo you sent.
Is this my phone issue? or is this a tmobile issue? or is there a setting somewhere within the app or phone that is telling it to use low data when sending pictures
It is Google messenger. Use the stock app and the issue goes away. 820KB file size for stock app and 17KB for Google messenger.
if you are sending the pic to a newer phone it will send the full size
the sms app on newer phones has more features you can only use on newer to newer phones
Rich 1 on 1 and group messaging, including near real-time chat
See when others are typing, when your message is delivered and even read
Share high-res photos and videos up to 10 MB just as you would a regular text message
I've heard the opposite about the default messaging app in android. Started with my note 5. I couldn't send pics and text, only pics. So all you have to do is download a messaging app that has better features.
Sent from my SM-T817T using XDA-Developers mobile app
The issue is specifically with Google messenger. I noticed this right when the G5 was released. Any other SMS client (stock, textra, hangouts) fixes the issue. I haven't tested it with the latest update of Google messenger though. Which version were you using?
google messenger sucks, facebook messenger sucks, I use handcent and that seems to send reasonably sized pictures.
