Hi!
These Links are for the Vodafone Magic (PVT32B) to the OTA Donut Update:
From CRC1 to DRC92
From CRC24 to DRC92
Is this the official code for UK Vodafone HTC Magic handsets? The filename implies that it is - but just want to be sure.

How would one update using this image? As far as i understand we can't just apply it the same way we do other rom images as it is quite small in size (so most probably not a full rom).
Just figured out how to update.
1. Copy file to sd card, rename to update.zip
2. turn phone off, then hold the home button and press the power button, wait till u get the excalmation mark triangle
3. press home plus power button simultaneously.
4 choose apply update.
5 restart after update is complete

same. i'm using amon_ras recovery v1.2.3g. still on 1.5 firmware, do i need to unroot my phone?
it's for the vodafone device, not for the mytouch.
but yes, you have to unroot your device to apply an ota update.
do you know if there is on for the mytouch

Never mind, I have done the update and it worked like a charm in my Spanish Magic. I think it works for all the Vodafone Magics in Europe.
Happy updating everyone!!!
Thank you ultraMX!!!!!

Hi there,
Where did you buy your HTC Magic, and in which country do you have your mobile contract with?

OTA update=loss of root?
Just wondering if I run this update will I loose root as it's the official firmware from Voda UK? I have a Voda UK Magic and have installed the DWANG 1.9 Donut image but wanted to see what the Voda build is like as the Voda Cupcake build as supplied was quite fast.
Cheers
Dave
Question regarding manual updates, if you manually update will this stop OTA updates being received?
Reason I ask is that it was rumored that when the G1's where manually updated they would no longer get the OTA updates...
This will avoid warranty or something similar?
Is it a safe way to update our phone without wait for the arrive of the OTA?
Sorry for my English
I get a "No signature, verification failed" error.
I bought my phone from the UK (it's a 23B) but I'm a Vodafone Iceland customer.
Dagur, check the Build number in Settings, About Phone - this needs to be CRC1 for this particular update file to work. My phone is CRC24 - anyone know when an update file might be available for the build I'm on?
Working fine on a Vodafone Magic 32B in The Netherlands! Thanks.

Try to flash it with the US RC29 or the UK firmware. But I don't think this will work as the SPL will block it.
AFAIK there's no way to get root at the non US/UK/Dev G1 at this time.
Michael
try update using rc30 update.zip file. I think you will install SPL for US region and you can flash back to RC29
Does it work? Because i wanted to buy the German G1 but if I can't root it, I will buy the UK Version.
@n8gk
work root with the US SPL ??
have you try this ??
If you flash a US or UK firmware on a german G1,....
will the Keyboard work correct ? the Layout for Z and Y are different.
Where can I get the RC30 update.zip file
Ther german has also a build 123099.
I didn't try to update, because I don't wanna loose the ability to go back to the original.
Waiting that a original one is out first. (because of language and keyboard)
Not Allowed
I tried to downgrade with rc29 firmware, but it isnt possible...
Checking...
Loading...
Not Allowed...
And then stuck in the bootloader...
I also got my G1 last week and it also has the 123099 Build.(I live in Austria) If there is any way how i can help to root this build (upload it?), let me know.
If i flash an UK or US firmware on my phone (suppose some genius finds a way how to do it) wouldn't it render the "Disable Data-Roaming" function useless, when i travel to one of these countries? And even deactivate the data connection in my home country?
In Austria tmo offers a roaming block on their side so i do not have to use this function on the phone, but i am just curious...
Maybe one of the more experienced users in here could tell us about the chances of rooting such a device.
Are there any or did Google / T-Mobile finally fix the backdoor completely?
Greetings,
Becksman
In device info the build description is:
kila_eu-user 1.1 TMI-RC4 123099
ota-rel-keys,release-keys
And build id:
TMI-RC4
The backdoor has been fixed for some time now... But as long as you were able to revert to an older image you can re-root your device, but we are not able to do this because we would need to use an image with another CID and that is not allowed with the original SPL. But the only way to change SPL is when you have your device rooted...
Correct me if im wrong plz..
So that means bad news for the European G1 owners?
seems so. and because the developers here already got a us-hacked version, they not seem to be interested in hacking this 1.1 firmware the one or other way.
are the european developers to stupid/busy to do it? or are they so clever to get a us one?
in the european firmware 1.1-version the manufacturer has alredy fixed the lame telnetd-root bug and the bootloader. and this is, on what the us-g1-hacks are based on.
i have the hope that some day a local root exploit will apear, which exploits the kernel or another vital component of the g1 to get root without telnetd.
maybe such a kernel exploit will be discovered in the standard linux kernel which can be portet to android; or some great reversing/hacking-debugging-genious-mastermind finds an android exploit all by himself.
android is so new, there MUST be bugs to exploit locally.
Iam a highlevlel-programmer, iam not able to find such local root vulnerabillities.

Hi Guys,
as you see in the topic, i want to know which is the newest Version of Android for the HTC ChaCha.
I bought it from o2 Germany and i will get it in some days.
Is there any further Update like Android 3.x or 4.x?
Thanks
Greetz
Seb.
just 2.x.x. please change your title as a question, which just misleads us
Sent from my HTC A810e
2.3.7
the newest one is 2.3.7 from cm7 for chacha
Sense??
Hey, guys
has anyone come across a sense rom for the Chacha which has at least Android 2.3.4?
My brother is unsatisfied with his phone but does not what to miss the sense features.
thanks for any hint
Newst Android Version for the ChaCha is 2.3.5 (stock rom EU). build 1.52
Hi,
got my ChaCha yesterday and i checked all the important things out...
so here are my infos:
S-On
Android 2.3.3
HTC Sense 2.1
Software 1.19.206.1
HBOOT 1.04.000
MICROP-0557
RADIO-7.47.35.17
Brand: o2_uk (important?)
OTA Update sais, there is nothing new ...
i'm not sure, if this is the latest Stock-ROM ... i don't think so ... is there any possibility to update to a newer *stock* rom?
# edit #
now i downloaded the updates from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1255107
Stock ROMs 1.18 Europe and 1.33 Europe: http://www.swtesting.ro/alex/downloads/
The new OTA update 1.33 to 1.52 is also there.
but i'm not quite sure what to do ... (my first android phone!)
# edit 2 #
not i tries the RUU Updater "RUU_Chacha_HTC_Europe_1.33.401.1_Radio_47.17.35.3033H_7.48.35.14_2_release_204385_signed.exe" but it didn't work ... got an Error Code 131 i think .... something didn't match ... "wrong ruu updater" or something ... don't know what to do, to get a newer Firmware now?!
With s-on all you can do is to update your rom to 1.33
If you are windows user - it's quiet easy. You have to prepare gold card. You'll find info on xda and google how to do that. Than just run RUU, and software should be updated in a while. Then you can get TempRoot. What it does and more importantly what it does NOT is all written in TempRoot topic.
If you want to install higher updates/custom roms and use Apps2SD (I'm sure you would like to do that, as after some days of using stock chacha you'll run out of mem), you will have to get s-off.
By now the only possibility is to use XTC-clip. You can either buy one or find phone service that has it and will do it for you for some small charge. Here in Poland it was 10E for me. When you get s-off you can install CWM recovery, and then do anything you like. You can install CM7, other roms, gain permroot etc etc
Hope I helped
Thank you.
i used "GoldCard Tool 0.0.5" and i think it will work now ... it's updating at the moment ...
but how can i install the OTA Air Update from 1.33 to 1.52?
i downloaded the zip file from the "everything for chacha thread", renamed it to PH06IMG.zip and put it in the root-folder and launched the bootloader but nothing happend ...?!
#edit 2#
i tried to rename it to update.zip and use the "recovery" tool and press vol-up and home at the screen with the red "!"
i get to a blue screen with yellow text and i choose "apply update from sd.card" but then i get "invalid operation" and the phone reboots ...
and i get the message: E: can't open /cache/recovery/command ??
i tried all options in the recovery-menu and i don't know how to go on?!
# edit 3#
well i think i understood ... i have to get s-off to continue to 1.52 right?
In German, how much to S-Off chacha?
We have a german Android-Discussion Board where peoeple offer it for free or up to about 10 EUR (about 14-15 USD) but there are no xtc clip owners in my area so i have to send it via mail to the xtc owner and let them do the work and they send it back to me
Hey guys,
I have flashed the European stock ROM from here on my Sensation, since it has a branded (German Vodafone) ROM.
However, I don't get the notification for the update, which is currently spread out in Europe, for the new market etc.
Also when I search for updates, it shows me that I have the current version on my phone.
Why is that so?
Have you tried searching for an update by your own? And what version are you running.
Btw. I think the market update is only for USA.
Yes, I tried to search for the update on my own with the sensation.
I am running:
1.45.401.2 with Android 2.3.4

Try to do a reset of your phone. That should do it.
You first need to get 1.45.401.3, then you'll be offered 1.50.401.1

Can I flash that without loosing my data, just like the over the air updates?
Btw. I rooted my Sensation, might this be the reason why I don't get the over the air update?
No, even on rooted phones, it will give the notification and let you download. Only at the time of installation phone will give message that you have tempered with your phone
But I cant say why you are not getting the update. I think it could be because your phone is branded. May be the update is released for unbranded phones only, till now.

Nope, my phone was branded at first, but I flashed 2.3.4 (
RUU_Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1.45.401.2_Radio_10.56.9035 .00U_10.14.9035.01_M_release_208857_signed) from this thread

to unbrand it.
Sorry for double post, but doesn't anyone have a solution for that?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda premium
Does really nobody has a clue about a solution to this problem?
Is there maybe a possibility to do the update on my own without loosing my data?
Hey F-Styla,
What is your current CID? Maybe the OTA is CID dependant and the phone is not seeing the update. When I first got my Sensation, I also debranded my phone by setting up CID 032 and flashing RUU 1.24xxx (I don't remember which one exactly) and then it got all the updates. My current version is 1.50.401.1.
PS Did you also try to manually check for the update from Settings? Sometimes the phone is too dump to see it by itself, even if you have mobile/wireless network.
Morning,

Can you share the zip then we can test
Size is about 580Mo and I clearly don't have the internet speed to upload it under 3 hours if I don't do anything else on the web (impossible today because of family) but maybe monday because everyone will be at school
I'm currently uploading it (Blur_Version.23.21.10.lux_retasia_ds.retasiaall.en.03.zip - ~600MB).
It will be available in 1 hour, maybe 2h.
Thx dude
For me the OTA didn't work, I've flashed a stock recovery and use the update menu to flash it but It gives me an error when the stock recovery flashed the ota.
So I will wait for an XDA zip version now ^^
I think i will wait for more feature comple CM13 rom ^^

When I open this "last_badfile", I see a lot of references to SuperSU. I guess we'll have to unroot then re-root our phones.

Hi guys, I also got a notification in French about upgrading to 6.0 but I have unlocked bootloader and I'm rooted so I can't proceed any further.
I think the best would be a clean installation to 6.0 but I don't know how to do this. Does anybody know if there is a guide for such a thing?
I'm attaching my current version.

Unlocked bootloader isn't an issue. You just have to unroot. To do so, just go to the Super SU app, in parameter, there is an unroot option. You don't even need to reboot to make it complete. You can just let the upgrade install.
I would recommend not to root immediatly after that because this is were it started to be painful for me (it seems chainfire hasn't released a perfectly working SuperSU for Marshmallow yet)
As the title goes, I have an U11+ with build 1.10.400.23 and I'm very curious as to when will I receive an update for this as the software updates shows nothing.
Thank you.
Hi, you can do it manually with OTA on your SDcard. Here is the file for it
Hey thanks for the reply, I have some questions where did you find this and by doing this manually will we have any problems?
Fond it by logging my update procedure and yes, you can't use your device for 10min. copy the OTA on sd and boot to recovery, choose update from sd ...
Will the OTA file work on any U11 Plus? I see it says HTC India in the file name, I have the Taiwanese version still running 1.23.709.3, and it's still claiming there's no updates available. I definitely would not want to screw the phone up by flashing an incompatible regions update.
No you can't, you need the same CID or you could brick your phone
I have the 1.24.401.2 version, is this the latest one? My CID is 034 eu

Any help with be much appreciated. Thanks.
