didn't work for me..
I just called.. I told the Sprint rep how Verizon and T-Mobile have this phone for $199 or less and I just paid $449 (before rebate) for this exact same phone.. She asked if Sprint was "in danger of losing my business" and I said yes and she put me on hold for a couple mins. When she came back she said that she could not offer me a discount, and then tried to explain how overall I am paying less money for more value with Sprint etc. etc. There is some truth to that, since Verizon is horrendously expensive and tmobile's network sucks. But I still paid way too much for this phone.
Perhaps this didn't work because I have the Sprint referral offer ($20 off per month). I am still miffed that they would not also honor my corporate discount because they "can't stack discounts". Whatever happened to the OLD sprint.. From all of these SERO stories I've heard, the retentions people used to do just about _anything_ to keep your business..
I will just call and ask again tomorrow. I don't have much time left on my trial period since I got the phone about 3 weeks ago, and as far as I am concerned they WILL give me another discount in one form or another or I will seriously consider canceling the contract.
She said if the price of the TP2 drops within my 30 days then they will issue a refund for the difference. But I'm not sure I can count on it happening in the next 7 days... I can always re-buy it in a week or two when the Sprint price does come down to $199.
Thanks for the heads up OP.

I work for Sprint, and this is not necessarily true, but if you want some pointers on what to do to get it at that price , pm me. There are other things that go into consideration; payment hist, account spending limit
ya, this is for the masses.
id give ya a girls name at sprint that can comp any line.. any amount but thats not the way to do it..
this way works if you dont qualify they will say no..
Worked like a charm for me. Thanks for the heads up. I was honest and direct and they matched verizons price in the form of sprint credit. 150.
well i finnally called yesterday becauseb i hadnt had time before and i told them i wanted to cancel because the only reason i started the line was for the touch pro 2 but i paid 500 and its free on tmobile through wmdeals.com and 199 on verizon..so they put me on hold and then they credited me back 400 dollars so the phone total was ....
99 bucks
SERO Plan
Well, i just tried the same thing and was told they wouldnt do anything just because i am on the SERO plan and i am already saving!!!!
I still explained that it had nothing to do with the plan, but they just said if i leave sprint i will end up paying more on the long run (its true) but regardless, i have been over 10 years with them, and always buying the latest phones, so the truth is on the long run, yeah, if i leave i loose, but obviously, they would loose more because they would loose me as a client.

Sorry to start another thread, but I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that Let's Talk now has The Fuze. I have been waiting to see if it would pop up there or on Amazon first. I bought it through the Walmart website. You can get the phone for either $99 or free. The free option requires you to start out with a voice plan of at least $59.99. The $99 option let's you choose a voice plan of $39.99. Although, both options make you get a data plan, but I was going to get one anyway. My total price (tax and all) was 195.53 before the $50 mail-in rebate. I'm very happy, and can finally stop wasting time at work.
I was going to upgrade through them, but they told me something completely laughable. You can upgrade a family plan, but EVERY LINE ON YOUR PLAN BEGINS A NEW 2 YEAR CONTRACT!!!
I was like, what're you ****ing kidding me? That'd be five 2 year contracts to get a cheaper upgrade, thanks but no thanks.
I tried this with my 4-line family plan. The configurator allowed me to get two of them free and two lesser phones free of charge. None of my lines are currently under contract... I am finding it hard to see the drawbacks to this.

Was this a representative that told you that or on the internet because it sounds completely inane :O?
If you talked with somebody, i'd try to give it another go.
Interesting, if there is a way to do this without extending all the contracts on the line I'll take mine back to the AT&T store. You can do this in store right?
The website states that whether you upgrade one line or all lines there will be a new 2yr contract for all lines in a family plan.

The upgrade price is $249.99. Be careful when dealing with LetsTalk. They have different terms and conditions in addition to AT&T's that are more strict. You MUST have a data plan to get this deal, and MUST have the data plan active for at least 6 months, or they will charge your credit/debit card at least $250.00.
I maybe retarded but I can't find how to upgrade 1 line on a family plan. It never gives me the option of choosing one line, just selecting a plan. If I select the family plan that I have it asks me to add at least 2 phones to complete the order.
Any ideas on upgrading just one line on an existing plan? Thanks.
Hmm...I just went through the LetsTalk procedure and it's telling me that, with an upgrade, you can get two Fuzes completely free? If this is true, I'm running immediately back to the store and returning this $350 dollar one.

Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully I won't have any issues, as I was already planning on getting a data plan. If anything "weird" happens, I'll be sure to let everyone know.
Just a head's up. I have been with AT&T for years. Simply put, purchasing ANYTHING from letstalk.com is like walking into a mexican brothel without a condom. I have read many situation regarding these people, they are 100% sales driven. For those not wanting to believe me, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE read ALL the fine print. You might save a little now but 80% of the time you will spend much more later.
This has been a public service announcement from KD8DNS
I too have been with ATT for many years, and read of many angry stories related to orders from them. I have ordered from them twice in the past and have not had any trouble either time, BUT... I agree with KD8DNS, there is an expansive amount of fine print with many rules that govern the purchase. Read this twice even three times, so that you won't be one of the many complaining in 6 months that Letstalk charged you $250 per line because you violated terms.
yea...
This looks too good to be true...
I am moving from T-Mobile and need my number ported...
I am planning on getting a hefty voice and data plan anyway, so that shouldn't be any issue...I need the data plan for work and I pay a arm and leg to T-Mobile now so over $100 is par for the course.
I think I am going to wait to see if this comes through for someone else...signing up for new service on ATT, they say that I am only going to have to pay $99, and get a $99 rebate after 6 mos of service...that is not a big deal, but getting the phone for free really seems too good to be true!
BTW, I have been looking to jump from T-Mobile for quite some time now as I need a WM phone on a 3G network and Sprint/Verizon service leaves something to be desired in my area...
I mean, come on...$99 out of my pocket for this phone???? And I get that back with a rebate after having service for 6 mos????
That is just crazy...seems way too good to be true.
I don't get it how people have problems with Letstalk. I have ordered twice from them and had a great experience. The rule is
You can NOT downgrade your plan and you can not be late on your bill. If you do that for 6 months, it is a great deal.
Simply put: If you take the LetsTalk deal, you cannot alter your account in any way for 6 mos. If you move and have to change your number that may cause your rebate to be rejected even worse they may charge you the $250 I mentioned earlier. If you are stable and the features you select are fine for 6 mo. it may be worth it. It is not really to good to be true. They make the bulk of their money in commissions paid by AT&T. However, the commissions are tied to you living up to your commitment to them/AT&T. I have ordered from them before without issue, but I admit that i am a rare breed. If you decide to take the plunge, just know what you are getting into.

Yea, that fits me to a tee...
I have done the research and know what I want...I am not going to alter my account at all. I am not going to move at all.
They don't have them in stock though...backordered...D'OH!
It's also only good for new contracts or porting from another carrier. It's $250 for existing ATT customers with a 2 year contract extension.
I already bought my fuze through the At&t store. Can I return it to take advantage of this freebie deal Let's Talk has? What it he penalty for returning it?
I was an out of contract, upgrade available customer. So I ended up getting my phone for 260.

I took mine back and all that I had to pay was $20.00 a restocking fee. The rest of the fees were all reimbursed. I was told by the 800# that it is up to each store whether they charge the $20.00 dollar restocking fee. The store I went to did.
I bought our family plan almost 2 years ago from Letstalk.com and it was a great experience. I have not changed out plan at all other than changing phones and data/text plans. But the base talk plan has stayed the same.
Jeff
I was actually considering buying from letstalk.com. I have my fuze that I bought yesterday all packed up like it's new and I'm returning it first thing. They also said that if you're returning and it has no problems, they'll take $20. If it has a problem, they'll waive that fee for you. But what's up with this part in LetsTalk's Terms and Conditions? :S
If you extend your contract length on a family plan, all lines will be extended.

Hello all. Long time lurker. Just wanted to create a new thread so people see this great deal. Today only (Cyber Monday) you can get a free Fuze (among other phones) if you sign up for a new line on an AT&T premier account. I saw this on pocketnow.com and see that some posted about it in the "How much did you pay for your Fuze" thread but I felt it needed its own topic so more people see it. If anyone disagrees I understand and this can be deleted but it is a great deal for today that I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on.
it would be nice if they let Family Talk customers get in on the action too.
Thanks for the heads up, just printed the page where it says Fuze is free today and went to the store where I purchased it on the 10th and they credited my account.
Thanks again.

oh okay how much is etf again i could probably get the phone for around 200 if i did it that way
Yeah I just ordered through premier two weeks ago for this phone. Since I'm under 30 days I'll just cancel my current plan and reorder today. Calling the CSR to "price match" and they said to do it this way instead, retarded
Free fuze on family plan
I got my free fuze on letstalk.com on a family plan. also i have a code that gives u an additional $20 off. PM me for the code or just go to the site for a free fuze!!!
Cant you just ad a line too and then cancel it within 30 days?? Worst case, you pay the $200 to cancel..?
holy crap! Ordering 2 right now!
Yay! Got two just now from AT&T store. Payed $77 tax on 2 phones. Will cancel and pay ETF. Comes out to be $260 per phone.
alot of people seem to have premier accounts..is it really that common to have a job that supplies that?
oh and kraize arent you contradicting yourself..on the other thread (how much did you pay for your fuze) you bag on the people saying theyl have to pay equipment costs but now your going to have too..not trying to get on you but just lookin out for you

True. Glad you noticed Well. I talked to my rep. He was a friendly guy and guaranteed me that I would only have to pay ETF and not equipment charges because it took him 2 and a half hours to get my phone and crap. He said there is no equipment charges even though I saw in the contract that there is. So I guess I don't have to pay them Already set up to cancel in 31 days.
and may i ask how did you get your premier account? arent you under 18? (sorry i ask i just swear i remember in another thread in the past you stated you were 16)
oh and im still contemplating calling att customer relations tomorrow again..already tried once but let the rep work me but i just got my wife a n95 and did a warranty exchange for a fuze from my tilt and i was trying to work them down on price of a new fuze (letting them know there have been all these sales from other websites and even this premier sale today) to around $150-200 and by threatening to goto the competition (tmobile g1 for $170) and keeping the brand new one and selling the refurb in new kit to make up for my wifes n95. When i called last i never really threatened to leave att aka "please transfer me to canellations department" lol i just wasnt feelin it that day but i think ill try tomorrow
./sigh, I could never get my premier account working... Followed links and it only ever let me apply my discount.. can't seem to find the commitment-free or special premier prices anywhere
Just wondering if there are any good tricks or deals to minimize the monthly cost of owning and actually using one of these devices. I've been using LetsTalk for the last few years as I've not really found any cheaper way to get phones & plans, so most of my numbers are based on this. I did a quick spreadsheet for 24 month cost of ownership (ignoring taxes and fees for simplicity) and have attached that. Basically with AT&T you can go with the $40 voice plan and get the phone for $200, or the $60 plan and get it for free. Then add on $30 for data (the letstalk deal requires this for at least 6 months anyway) and another $5 for basic texting. I broke these down with comparisons to the iphone, sidekick 2008, the cricket slider my friend bought and the dirt-cheap samsung propel. I know this isn't exactly apples to apples but I'm doing this more to evaluate the cost/benefit of having a nice smartphone vs a decent voice/text platform with no data plan. Just kinda throwing this out there for feedback, I'm sure you guys know a lot more than I do about what is available and what can be done...

Mine is unlimited EVERYTHING and 100% free, and so is the second, third, forth and fifth line.
Ohh yea the data card is also.
Sorry I couldn't resist.
Ok, to make a long story short, I pay $20 a mo for unlimited data. I have had it for years from when I was with Cingular. I pay $5 for 250 texts and 39 for the lowest minutes. I own my own phone and have always bought unlocked phones and haven't had a contract in years.
So I wanted the Fuze and went to the Att store and was willing to sign a 2 year contract to get the phone for $299 but wanted to keep my plan EXACTLY like it is. Hre said no prob....until he started ringing me up. Stated my data plan was not compatible with the Fuze and I had to upgrade to the $30 a mo. I said no, he said you can't get the speacil price with the $50 rebate if I didn't. I said stuffit.
So, I am willing to pay $500 for the unlocked, no commitment phone from Att and will leave my plan as it is.
Question.....Does anyone know if the phone will be COMPLELTY unlocked or uncripled if I buy it for full price from Att? I want to take my sim out, put it in the new Fuze and keep on keepin on as I have for years.
Thanks

Search for my threads regarding media net. It will tell you all about it.
As for the device (full price) or (with contract renewal) its the same phone, it will be locked.
I don't know how but ATT knows what phone you're using on their network and will probably make you change it anyway. It happened to me when I got a Tilt.

My procreating happened to yield 2 kids. So Im the least bit concerned.
HA!!!!!! Look at me!! I'm teary eyed!! That's one of the funniest thints I've seen!!!!
So I called up T-Mobile yesterday(day the One S was released) and immediately asked for the Retention department. I was forwarded over and spoke to a sweet young woman. I explained that I was still on contract for a few months but I was thinking of canceling. I explained that I have no service the moment I walk into my apartment and randomly where I sit at work. Which is true but I went on to say that I've been using WiFi calling successfully. Although, having to resort to that is frustrating.
I told her I was offered a free phone(Samsung Galaxy Nexus), no activation fee, and $35 less in charges per month if I were to switch to a work plan with Sprint(That last part being a fabrication). She quickly responded that she could offer me a better deal. I could tell that while I was explaining the situation, she was looking through my account and saw that I have been a customer of T-Mobile for just about 7 years. She took a moment to gather approval.
She came back on the line to ask which phone I wanted. I humbly spoke of the One S and she puts me on hold again. She comes back to offer me a lower rate plan than what I pay now, with a higher data limit. She continues to say that the cost of the phone for me would be close to $300 but she had applied a $250 credit on the account so that I will only have to pay $29.18. She even applied that charge to next months bill, and if that wasn't enough, she backdated the rate plan to save me just about that amount on this months bill. So I'm basically getting the HTC One S for mere dollars added to my next months bill.
So essentially, this is just another example of how far T-Mobile will go to satisfy their loyal customers and is further proof that they deserve all those J.D. Power & Associates awards for excellence in customer service.

good price.
i have been with TMo for over 12 years. they didn't want to give me a full early upgrade (I had 3 months left). I told them that I was ready to cancel and move to AT&T. She forwarded me to customer care and they worked out a price on the HTC One S. I'm not too thrilled with it, but it's not too bad.
$249+activation+tax+shipping = $290. That's what they wanted. I told them that Walmart had it for $198. WTH. They applied a $100 credit and now the total is $190. With the $50 rebate, comes out to $140.
Still TMo could have done better. I have two lines and a data plan. Was hoping TMo would take customer loyalty into consideration even more. Oh well, I am ready to jump ship next time. screw loyalty.
Sometime those hard to believe. I was once on a VERY thin line of canceling Tmobile and moving to Verizon (wife gets 20% discount there and her Tmo doesnt work at work due to ****ty building penetration). I have 2 lines and have been a customer for 6 years. Retension department wouldn't give me ANY deal on anything, they just forwarded my call to cancellations department.
On top of this when I was trying to order One S yesterday (I am ONLY 10 days away from my full upgrade by the way) 3 different customer service reps told me 3 different things. I ended up paying $260 with tax + activation fee + shipping and no rebate (or had a choice to pay $300 + get $50 rebate). I have to mention that I did get a line credit for $80 bucks few days ago for roaming mix up where I had to pay Tmobile extra $150 < I still dont know if it was my fault or Tmobile...basically I used Wifi-calling in France to call USA and somehow all my calls were charged roaming fees (And I do know how to use Wifi-calling)
I hate Tmobile reps, their lies, and their new stupid automatic answering service

I kinda of disagree with you here. You signed a 2yr contract, and despite being a longtime customer, you're fully aware you're not due for an upgrade. As such, they SHOULDNT offer you a full upgrade. However, they typically will offer you a discounted upgrade. So you were ready to cancel and pay an Early Termination Fee? I don't see how you're upset, since they were nice enough to offer you something. The other carriers would've told you to pay full price or hit the road with the ETF.
It sounds like you're not having a case of "screw loyalty", but instead, "screw signing 2 year contracts". Were you really surprised at the result?
I see people arguing about contractual obligations and how the carrier can screw you over, but what about YOUR obligation to follow the terms and the period length?

I should be more clear, I WAS eligible for an upgrade. When I got $80 account credit few days ago, rep noted on my account that I will be eligible for full discount upgrade on 25th instead of May 5th.
One of the reps from retensions then lied to me that I was not, and he doesnt see it noted on my account, rep before that said that I do have a full discount. In total I made 4 calls and got 4 different results (1 rep just had no idea what to do and transferred my call to some private voice mail)
I just renewed my contract with a grandfathered plan and Corp discount. I was able to get 3 phones, all HTC One S for a total of $200. They basically offered the phones for $199 each with no rebates, then offered initially a $250 total discount which I was able to get them to add another $150 discount. So it's $600 for the 3 phones - $400 credit. The credit shows up already on my account.
I thought about waiting for the S3 but I liked the One S in stores.
Now I am thinking of using the trade-in offer to send a couple of old phones. I am not sure if I am still eligible or not.
The upgrade, activation and shipping fees were waived. I had the $20 preferred android plan on one line. It is supposed to be ulimited but in relaity it has a "soft" limit of 5 GB.
My other 2 lines had the $5 web2go data plan offered by retention 2 years ago and it worked great with iPhones. The 2 lines were switched to the same $20 5GB plan.
Just a note, I called retention twice . My first offer was to pay $350 for 3 phones which I didn't accept and the second time the CSR was more willing to get a better deal and upped the credit.
I also got $10 off my monthly plan for 24 months.
Can't complain.
here's T-Mobile's link to get $100 trade-in for any smartphone or $200 for any iphone.

Not bad. I pulled off something very similar last year to get the G2x on full upgrade pricing despite being only a year into my contract, using the AT&T merger and a threat to move to Sprint as bargaining chips. Got that, and got the One S for full upgrade pricing this year by helping them get some conquest customers from Verizon.
I just got my One S today and came from an SGS2 on T-Mo, all I have to say is wow. Everything about the phone is wonderful. What a well crafted piece of tech. Love this phone. Sense 4.0 is so much nicer than TWiz. My 2 cents.
Does this really work?

So I called up T-Mobile yesterday(day the One S was released) and immediately asked for the Retention department. I was forwarded over and spoke to a sweet young woman. I explained that I was still on contract for a few months but I was thinking of canceling. I explained that I have no service the moment I walk into my apartment and randomly where I sit at work. Which is true but I went on to say that I've been using WiFi calling successfully. Although, having to resort to that is frustrating.

Did the same thing a week ago to get my amaze for free. Gave me a 250 dollar credit on my bill. Im on value plan so 200 took care of the phone and taxes down payment, and the other 50 went towards my next month bill. I have a 27 dollar bill next month. I didnt even say I was leaving. I just said I wanted a new phone. She said I have been a customer for 5 years and she would be glad to help me out.
So now I have the amaze. Had a problem with my first one, and I am still in buyers remorse, so there sending me another one tomorrow. Now I have 20 more days to mess with these phone and if I dont like it, all I need to do is pay 50 bux and they will send me the S.
Win Win
This is interesting. I may call them tomorrow because I am eligible to upgrade my line as a part of my family plan. ATT also offers employees of my company a 20% discount on monthly plan. We have 4 lines on our tmobile family plan... 2 are not under contract, 1 is under contract until the 29th, and the other is under contract until September. Maybe I can argue with ATT tomorrow that two are still under contract, but we will pay the disconnect fees (really just one after this weekend) and see what kind of deal they can offer on 4 phones (2 htc one x, sgs2, and a stupid free phone), and then call tmobile to work something out.
I think the ideal situation would be ATT offers me a plan and the phones with a price, and I present it to tmobile as a deal, and receive free phone upgrades for each line. This is farfetched, but if they want to keep our service, what else could they do?

What a delay...you are clearly going to get the One S ...stop wasting time.........jeez. So when you call back on the 19th day and "decided" to go with the one S and the $50 doesnt apply you'll come back and bash t-mobile.............and to clarify. Its consumer to business...the.reps.discretion is.what makes.us.happy or dissatisfied.not."The Company"

Of course the 50 applies. I had a credit of 250 posted to the account and 200 of it went towards the down payment of the amaze ( 149.99, 49.99 tax ). The other 50 went towards next month bill. For me to get the ONE s, I need to pay an extra 50 because the Down payment for the ONE s is 199.99, not 149.99. I been with T-Mobile for 5 years and just signed a new 2 year contract. I dont have any reason to bash them.
Is this Tmobile USA? If so, how did you get passed the automatic menu to a customer retention rep?
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using XDA
I was also able to get enough credits to get the one s for free since they said I'm a valued customer for 5yrs
Just tried this and TMobile says that I'm on value plan so no discounts at all! I have to pay $599 retail price.
So much for being a "valued" customer for 7 years.

I'm upgrading one of my line to the S4 but the price went from $199 to $299 at the check out. How much did you guys with ATT Premiere account paid for your S4?
I paid the same as regular at&t. $199

If you have a premier account, they give you the "$100 off promotion" which brings the phone down from that $299 price to the standard $199. As explained here in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2247597
I just pre ordered through an actual store and paid the $199 price.
Okay, can someone explain to me what exactly is the advantage of AT&T premier? It seems that I have it (discount from my place of work), but from everything I've seen, the GS4 is still the same price as in store...?
Maybe I'm missing something..

I get about a 22% discount on my service each month and you get a discount on all accessories and some phones. You usually don't get much of a discount on a phone that has just been released.

Gotcha. Thanks. Yeah, it looks like I'm getting a 15% discount which is alright. I was also told by 611 that I get free overnight shipping on all orders via Premier. Not sure if that's 100% true or not because I've always done my shopping at the corp store anyway.
Just contacted Premier CS. I had to upgrade my plan code. Everything works now. Waiting impatiently for my S4. How much could I get for me S3 on the black market?

I got mine for 179.00 I think because I have been a premier member for a while maybe its a credit, I just got my phone yesterday. Its nice and thin but holy moly is it loaded with crap. Cant wait to root this thing!!!!
Weird, I had no such issues with mine when I ordered premier. I preordered 4/16 and got it 4/24. Great phone so far btw. Can't wait for root to clear out the crap on it though.
I ordered mine on the 24th and had an issue with the checkout button sending me to an error page at the very last step. When I restarted the process, it had changed my plan details from "550 minutes" to "Add a line" (my phone is a second line). This reduced the cost to less than the $35 dollar minimum or whatever that the $100 instant off requires.
I cleared my cookies in another browser and restarted the process. I was able to get through that time without an issue and it had reverted back to the "550 minutes" so I got the $100 off.
I did have to choose a "new" data plan though I was still able to select Unlimited Personal Data Plan for 4G LTE Smartphones (what I had previously). The code changed from LTEDPPBVM to LDPPBVM5 or something like that. Probably just a coding change internally.
I do get free overnight shipping with Premier, I don't know if this is the case for everyone. My phone shipped yesterday and is out for delivery today.
im on the phone now with them when i said $299 they guy was taken back a little bit and said that didnt sound right and he was also amazed that i got the phone 1 day after ordering, dont call the sales department tho i called them and have waited 20min to get transfered to internet department
long story short you need to upgrade your plan and they wont help me with any discounts because i have the old plan grandfathered in with unlimited data
Mine came in yesterday. I paid $174.99 and ordered over the phone with the premier dept. I've had better luck over the phone on prices. They seem to be able to "bend the rules" a little more.
