I was thinking of grabbing a myTouch if you want to unload yours - send me a message if you do decide to change.
There is a simple two word answer that can't be beat: Samsung Vibrant. It's the T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy S and should be the best/most powerful phone T-Mobile has as of this month when it comes out. $199.99 with a 2-year contract rpice. Not sure how much full retail is but then there is the ATT version which has a crazy low full retail price of $349.99.
You should check out the Nexus One unlocked and start rocken

[Q] International or AT&T Model

Hi guys. I am a huge fan of Android, especially when It's LG. I am currently using the LG G2 with CM12 and all.
I'm really interested in the G Flex 2 and have been waiting for more than a month now for AT&T to sell it. I use AT&T with straight talk, and have been for 3 years now. So I'm down to a major decision
1: Buy international unlocked G Flex 2, and continue to use it with straight talk
2: continue waiting for AT&T to sell the phone, and buy it off contract for Straight Talk.
What should I do? Do international phones support LTE in USA? From what I hear there is no LTE in other countries, so does that mean it will lack the radio?
Please help with with the Pros and Cons of getting the International version.
One pro is that, International models may include FM radio band, like the International G2.
_____
I plan on rooting and flashing the G Flex 2. Do you think the AT&T model will have better support from the Cyanogen and dev communities?
I have the H955 (European) model and live in the UK.
I'm not sure where this talk of no LTE outside the US is coming from, almost all phones and networks in the UK offer LTE these days and the flex 2 is no exception.
Since the US and European versions both have LTE I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that all versions do.
As for development, in my experience international models tend to get a bit more attention.
International models are available to a much wider community than the US variants, allowing people from all backgrounds to help out.
This also, sometimes, leads to mods and tweaks that you never thought you'd need.
I would recommend the international model, as long as it's compatible with your carrier of choice.
I wish I could be more help with your decision but this is the extent of my knowledge on these issues.
Thanks for the Insight, I went ahead and purchased the H959 (HK) Model.
@Traceguy does any model G flex 2 work here in the USA on AT&T LTE? I thought some models are missing certain bands / frequencey?

The model I used (H959) did work on LTE in the USA. I cannot say for certain about other international versions. It was a great phone throughout my usage.
I recently switched over the a Nexus 6P. Great phone. I had to cut my sim card down though. We now have nano card sizes. The Nexus 6P seems to be doing a good job. I have no interest in replacing it with a Pixel. I'll probably keep my N6P for another year.

Use in the USA - How to order

The Moto X Play has a great battery and awesome camera stats - how will a USA resident be able to order this phone? Any advice?

You wont. I bet it will be released as a Driod Turbo 2 in the USA.
Wait a few weeks it might pop up on unofficial sellers on ebay etc.

You might be able to get it from a Canadian retailer?
Yes, I just didn't know if I would need to go through a proxy to be able to order it. And I didn't know what they would say about the "ship to" being American.
Droid Turbo 2 will be a higher end phone. Perhaps it will have the same form factor with the processor power of the X Style / X Pure, a big battery and wireless charging. Everything the X Pure should be but wrapped in a hideous Droid skin.
In the same boat, was looking online at how to order and then ship to the US. There are certain services where you can "rent" a canadian address and then they will forward your mail to you - but by the time you pay the set-up fee and the forwarding fee, it seems overly costly. I did also try to order directly through Telus, but they require a Canadian address to ship to.
Anyone have any other ideas?
Mexico and Brazil Moto X Play variants are the same as the Canadian (XT1563). So we just need to figure out how to get one from any of these countries. I'm coming up empty though.
Wait for it to turn up on Amazon Canada and then just ship it to the US as Amazon Canada do ship to the US by the looks of it.

Using this now in Brazil. Coming from the Verizon Note 3 and Nexus 7 2013 and I'll say it's a decent phone but hardly spectacular (the screen in particular) if you are used to USA flagship phones. However it's nice to have two sim slots and an fm radio which are features almost unheard of in the States. Lollipop 5.1.1 is nice too!
Is the 1563 exactly the same in Brazil, Mexico and Canada in regards to LTE bands supported? There is a "BR apps" package on my phone, presumably exclusive to Brazil but I'm wondering if this is otherwise exactly the same as any other 1563.

According to Motorola's site, it's exactly the same for LTE bands.
Who did you buy it from in Brazil?
just a heads up, The Canadian Bell Version is locked to Bell! I tried my Rogers Sim and it wouldn't work, so you'll have to buy a Canadian version, then pay to get it unlocked. It's only available through the carriers in Canada. You cannot buy a retail\unlocked version, they're all only available thought carriers and locked to that carrier.

Thats a bit crap innit. I think for once we are lucky in the UK. We get both the Style and Play unlocked and Carrier free.
It will turn up on Ebay or Amazon carrier free eventually but could be a bit of a wait.

Bought from a Motorola kiosk in a mall for 1499BRL, which is $428 USD approx. 32 gb edition. Incidentally I noticed they had already sold out of them when I passed by there yesterday.
Possibly regretting this purchase as LTE band 13 is not available for Verizon, but will be available on the US edition of the Style ("Moto X Pure Edition") coming this Fall. Argh. I definitely like having two sims in one phone however.
Aside note, the new 3rd gen Moto G has a version here in Brazil that sports live TV and an antenna that allows FM radio listening without earphones. Why the heck can't we have those things in the U.S.! I digress.
I know one of the Canadian retailers told me that they feel like people will soon buy it with the unlocking fee (50), unlock it so any carrier in the US can use it and resell for a high value on eBay. :/. I know there is a way as long as you can get someone to buy it for you located in Canada! If anyone was looking to get one- feel free to message me! Would love to help someone out =)
Normally unlock codes turn up on ebay for a few Pounds here in the UK. I unlocked my brothers M8 for £2.50 by buying an unlock code from an ebayer.
It was easy ... I emailed IMEI number to the seller ... he then gave me a code. I placed a sim card (none carrier) then phone prompted me to put the code. Once I entered th code ... voila my brother had an unlocked phone.

$50 to unlock a phone seems pretty steep. if motorola doesn't play any games, unlock codes can be had for cheap on ebay.
ok i am setting up to order from sasktel wireless in canada. I work in logistics and have my warehouse their set to receive any phone i buy. I am setting up an account with sasktel and i will be buying a phone from them first. it is locked to sasktel but unlock codes could be had. Anyone interested in getting a phone aswell from canada? 16gb versions only but have sd support
with shipping to the lower 48 states we are probably looking at around $500 to import the phone total. Let me know if anyone is interested i will see if i can set it up
Has anyone in the US got a Canadian moto x play and can confirm at it works on att or straight talk? Also just wondering how much would I be looking at paying for the moto x play to get it shipped to the US? Thanks

When that happens it's usually because they don't have the imei in there system. Call them and give it to them so they can setup everything. Happened to me on att with my LGG4 from overseas

What is the best unlocked s8+ that I should buy for AT&T?

The axynos ones are cheap on ebay, but I can also buy an unlocked US version from Samsungs website.
Can you advice me on this?
I'm coming from the LG V20 side with the unlocked US996 model, and just looked at the non-existent G6 forums so please keep it in mind as I say this: I will never ever ever buy a major branded Android phone unlocked, ever again.

? Why ???
The exynos have an unlocked bootloader, the "unlocked" other version only has unlocked sim. The exynos will allow root, however root trips knox, and therefore breaks Samsung Pay.
I'm using a UK version and it's pretty flawless. Samsung Pay works out of the box. I bought it from a UK authorized reseller so its got a two year warranty (in the UK - I pay to ship it there) and BTU is typically in front of the line for updates. It has no bloatware but none of the unlocked versions do. I had a AT&T version first and the Exynos version seems a tad more fluid and responsive.
It has all AT&T's LTE bands except for 30 and gets better LTE speeds than the AT&T version. Do a search, there's a thread on it.
I'm going to sell it when the Note8 comes out and it was cheaper to buy outright and will fetch more when I resell it. I liked it so much I bought a EU LTE Tab S3 to keep it company. It doesn't do VoLTE or Wi-Fi calling but that too is common to unlocked phones.

I want to get a phone with a care plan . Is there something like that in the states?

EU model on Verizon?

Hey guys I just bought a OnePlus 8 off Amazon to replace my Pixel 2 XL. However today I noticed it's the EU model IN2013, NA is IN2015, I already knew not to buy IN2010 the Chinese version however I didn't know the US unlocked was a different model because nowhere I looked online mentioned it. I looked at the LTE bands before purchasing it and saw it supports all of Verizons bands (especially the critical band 13) so in theory it should still work right? My fear is when I give them the IMEI to enable CDMA Less on my line they will notice its an EU model that's "not approved on their network" and thus that will prevent it from working even though it supports all their bands.
Now to answer some questions:
Why did I buy this from Amazon instead of OnePlus?
Because it was $100 cheaper and the only way to get the Onyx Black color
Why didn't I buy the Verizon version?
Because it's $100 more expensive than the unlocked and it has a locked bootloader like all of Verizons phones

Hi,
I don't think they won't approve your device. I'm living in France so I don't know much about the Verizon Politics about that. But if they have common sense, they won't refuse just because it's not one of their devices, they may lose a lot of customers if they did so. There's a Verizon model to support their 5G, but for LTE it's all good.
In France, no carrier would dare doing that, because everybody buys their phones on internet, already unlocked and stuff...
There's a huge competition between carrier so they won't dare to be so restrictive on who can use their network or not. It'd be like "if you want to give me money, you have to pay me at least 600$+60$/month, who do you think I am, I'm not accepting just 60$ every single month", that makes no sense, only Karens thinks like that.
So LTE is cool, but I can't say that for the Verizon 5G
Hope this helped
I already knew 5g wasnt going to work but I don't care because Verizon uses mmwave 5g and that's not coming to my area any time soon. I just want to make 100% sure LTE works, right now I'm 90% sure but that IMEI thing has me worried, Verizon only allows approved devices on their network (absolute BS imo, if it supports all your bands it should just work). I don't know if they support only the American OnePlus 8 (IN2015) if so that would suck because hardware wise the IN2015 and IN2013 are virtually identical from what I could find with only a few bands missing from the IN2013 but they don't matter for Verizon
