using Windows Mobile here.
is there any way I can read the SIM Card? I need to recover or analyse deleted text messages (even after you deleted it from the deleted items folder).
is there software that exists that will do this even if I connect the phone via USB or even on the device itself?
I heard something about it but not sure whether is really exist. Try to search the net for sms recovery.
I bought a PC/SC USB SIM Card reader and tried to use a data recovery sim software. but it doesnt seem to see anything on the SIM Card at all!
so I wonder how text messages are stored on the SPV C500?
I really would like, in any way possible, to try and analyse and recover the text messages/sms

Hi

Cheers

The simcard usually is able to store messages.
Im pretty sure that the sim manager in WM2003 Smartphone was able to copy sms to simcard... but i dont know if its possible with PPC... i dont have the option on my MDA Compact...

I have some text messages on my phone, but they were saved on the sim card. When I popped the SIM into my wizard, it wont show those messages on the sim. I went to sim manager but it was empty.
any ways to access the txt messages that were stroed on the sim??

Click to collapse
Also, if you have / install an AKU3 ROM (currently available for the Wizard, Universal and the Alpine), you'll be able to directly access your messages from inside Messaging.
Heres the SIM Messages v0.04b zip, works great on my magician (WM2003SE)
text/mms retrieval (text messages stored on the sim card w/the 8525)
here's a question i've yet to ever see asked...
i had my sim card in a device that does not support MMS (my c139) and i receive notification of an incoming MMS. i see a noninterpreted message containing "application/vnd.wap.mms-message" on the c139's message window. this initial MMS notification message is stored on the sim card along with a few other text messages i received - the c139 does not store messages internally.
i've now moved the sim card back into my 8525, which is capable of receiving MMS. here is where i can't figure out what to do...so i've got two questions.
1. is there a way to access the messages stored on the sim card from the 8525, similar to viewing contact stored on the sim card? i know the messages are still there, because moving the card back to the c139 shows them again...and putting a different sim card in the c139 shows different stored text messages.
2. assuming there is a way to view the sim card stored messages on the 8525, is there a way to now retrieve the attached content of the MMS i received? i tried forwarding the message from my c139 to myself, immediately turning off the phone & swapping the sim card to the 8525...but when the message came OTA on the 8525, it was just the forwarded text w/no indication there was any MMS payload.
ideas?

i'm cross posting this from my post in the cingular customer forums, as i think the question may be better addressed here.

Hi,
I have tried Contact2Sim and Copy to SIM Card application to copy but it does not work on my HTC Hero ever since I upgraded to 2.0 (custom rom).
I also tried to export to contact to vcf and my import option does not show SIM even though I have enabled to show SIM.
I can manually add 1 contact to SIM entry. Hence, I don't think my SIM card has any problem.
Please advise if this is a known issue or is there any workaround?
Thanks

Hello
I have broke 5 of the sim card pins in the simbay.
When I turn the phone on and try to access the phonebook or messages it prompts me to "Insert Sim Card".(Everything else like games, calender is accessible)
The messages and contacts are stored on the phone, So I dont understand why they programmed the phone to require a simcard to access this.
Does anybody know how I can access this data? I was wondering if I brought a USB data cable would allow me to access it somehow?
Thanks in advance.
