I have an HTC 8125 phone that was purchased used. I downloaded activesync to add music files to the phone. The previous owner had some files on the phone for Iphone themes. So I installed them, and my computer told me the phone had to restart to complete the installation. So I said 'ok' and it restarted the phone. Ever since it's restarted, the screen has just been white with lines all over the place. I've tried taking out the battery, soft and hard resetting... and I can't find any sort of update for firmware. I've taken off as much software as possible without removing EVERYTHING. Please HELP!

Hey guys!
While working on my PPC this weekend, I noticed that the system froze while just trying to open NYDITOT Virtual Display.
I tried doing a soft reset and after doing so the system freezes at the "Welcome to T-Mobile" bootup screen and it does not go into the OS (windows Mobile 2003 "Non-SE")
I tried pushing the soft reset button with the device OFF, without the battery, without the sim card, and nothing seems to work.
I cant even re-load the original ROM as Active Synch doesnt see the device due that I dont get into the OS.
Now luckely for me, T-mobile advised that i only had a 3 month warranty with them, which of course "expired" so i was hoping someone could suggest something that might help me resolve this problem.
Any help will be greatly appriciated.

I upgraded our first SPVM1000 (xda2 from orange) with WM5 and it all seemed to work fine.
I then up upgraded the second and it went fine. The second one is still workign completely fine with no problems. We noticed that the first one could not get reception. If you put its sim card in the other phone then it works. Now I tried with with Orange and Vodafone sims. They work in PDA 2 but in PDA 1 there is no reception (it was working yesterday).
Then it kept coming up with an error saying that it was sorry for the inconvenience but there was an error with cprog.exe.
After a reset (power button and soft reset button) that stopped happening but then I found that I could not active sync PDA1. It cant connect and so connects as "guest". After what used to be a hard reset, everything is still as though I just did a soft reset with WM5 - not sure why.
Then I tries to backdate it to the old rom. If I use OSImage tool it wants it to be active synced which doesn't work (v3.8 or v4.0). I also tried to reupgrade with WM5 again (a fresh installation) but althoght it will go into boot mode with Serial 1.03 and then USB 1.03 appearing on the screen, the upgrade fails. It says there is a communication error.
Everything is working with PDA 2 so it cant be a connection fault. I think I did something and now I got myself in quite a pickle.
Can anyone help please?
I'd be happy to reset / reboot right back to the beginning again though I'd like to keep WM5.
Thanks
Anthony
Solution (how to hard reset in wimdows mobile 5)
Hard resetting WM5 has fixed all of these problems including the phone reception. To hard reset (sometimes called clear reset in the forums) you have to press the tape and camera buttons and then the soft reset with the stylus. This is on an XDA2 (SPVM1000) and is different since upgrading to WM5 (prev power button and the soft reset did the trick). I found lots of websites giving different instructions on how to do this but for the XDA2 type this works.

Any help would be great on this, I have unlocked Treo 750 from cingular, I downloaded the updater from palm with my serial number, and started the update, according to the final screen there was an error during installation, it wanted to start all over again and I could not stay and finish. I disconnected the phone from the pc, it had the screen on it as if it was new to setup, do the touch screen thing, set the time and date etc.
I did all that and the phone seemed to be working fine. I have been using it for a week now and no problems. the only glitch I am having is the bluetooth keeps dropping off, not connecting for my Motorola earpiece. it is hit and miss.
so, I decided that when I had some time I would start the update again and hope that it would overwrite everything, or delete it and then start a entire new install again. surprise, it started but then message said update was not needed and that was it.
any advice on this, I would like to do a total new install again, just thinking there is something that did not complete during the first install.
thanks in advance for any suggestions.
ps. I have not tried a hard reset, as I was told since this is an unlocked phone, I may not get it started again.
several ways to address, but to use what you already have, extract the contents of the updater to a new folder on your desktop, look for payloads.xml. open in notepad and change the following lines to higher numbers as I have:
<revision_no>2.28</revision_no>
<high>3.00</high>
Save the file and close. Now find index.hta and doubleclick - follow the prompts.
if that dosnt work dont be afraid to hard reset. i have an unlocked 750 and ive hard reset twice. its painless, just make sure to back up all your files on a storage card.
HI All,
Just got my TouchPro, supplied to my company by Vodaphone. I am evaluating it to see the suitable to replace our current 710's and 3310's.
I have one major problem, there is no TouchFlo software on the device.
There is a TouchFlo Icon in the Settings\system menu, but there appears to be no actual Touchflo application on the phone.
How do I go about getting the Touchflo app onto the phone?
All help appreciated folks......
Thanks
Should be under start menu, in settings... I have a stupid US version so my settings are limited, but I think that's where it is on yours.
Touchflo
The first time I unboxed my device (also a UK version) I just put some juice into it, as I received the package at the office. I just tried to turn it on and align the screen, no more. When I came home, I switched my sim card (vodafone.nl) and tried to put the device to work. I also did not get any Touchflo picture on my screen. So I ended up hard resetting the device with the sim card inserted. I followed the directions given me, and surprise... Touchflo!
That's odd... The first thing I saw out of the box after calibrating was "Loading TouchFlo 3D..."
So I recently went to vzw to check if my warranty would cover unresponsive buttons and it does, so they sent me a replacement ozone in the mail. I checked the multicolored screen and saw spl 0.44 and remembered that it couldnt be flashed to hardspl. So I said to myself, "ok, stock windows mobile 6.5 on the ozone can't be so bad" and booted it up. OMG I got used to the 3vo rom sooo much that the phone is crippled with the stock rom. So I want to send the replacement they sent me right back to them and just say f-ck it!! I would rather live with the phone the way it is now.
My question is.... Can I flash a Hardspl to it? has anyone tried and if so did it work. Is there going to be a Hardspl 0.44? Should I try to flash the replacement and if it bricks or fails just send it back? I'm going to send it back anyway if I know I can't install custom roms to it.
Yes, it can be done - apps unlock it first, then flash from 0.44 to .39.hard
Yes, it can be done and I've done it with mine. Read & print out the detailed steps, instructions & review the notes of errors/steps for recovering, etc. - backup your own data/contacts/settings, etc. on the phone - remove the sim card & microSD memory card. I used oem LG usb cable on Windows XPP SP3 desktop & do it without interruption (got a PM story of a ruined flash due to a dog jumping on the link & killed the process, for real ....)
Mine was originally running WM6.1 from VZW, did the HTC official upgrade via the link to WM6.5 and then decided to take a chance with the 3VO flash.
It's very important to do it carefully and get it apps unlocked first.
When that's done successfully & tricolor bootloader confirmed it, pull the battery out for a few moments to reset, and then re-insert & boot it up again before resuming the flash with the unzipped 3VO rom file.
When the HTC ROM Update Utility is finally connected & the phone screen is blank (black) and your pc has finished switching from Moto drivers (ActiveSync) to HTC drivers (re-establish active connections) - and you can see both your "current" version and 3VO version, you are ready to take the plunge & finalize the burn process - took less than 10 minutes at that point.
Then, it's a matter of watching the phone reboot, initialize & preparing the phone for 1st time use and waiting another 5 to 10 minutes, and wow, the 3VO startup & WM6.5 screen will greet you. Then, it's just of customizing the options, restoring the contacts/settings upon putting the sim card (used my owned sim, phone already unlocked) and memory card in the slots.
Good luck.
I tried everything. All directions as closely as possible. I had no errors happen to me on anything and everything flashed as it should have and still no hardspl 0.39. No big deal, I'll just send it back. This phone must be very very locked. Oh well. Thanks for the help.
Where do we find the drivers...after disconnecting. my device comes up as unknown
