I've been looking all over the place, but I can't find a solution to this. Sometimes when I go to reply to a text, the text entry box is halfway cut off, with the send/menu touch buttons overlapping it. Soft reset doesn't fix it, it's just kinda random. Anyone else have this problem or know about it?
i've had this happen a couple times before.
a temporary fix is to bring up the onscreen keyboard, then hiding it and it should be back to where its supposed to be.

I searched for about 30 minutes before posting this.. in both diamond and touch pro forums and all over here.. I figure this is a common issue, but still found nothing.
Is there any way to lock the touch screen during a call? I keep doing things with my cheek. I've written notes, assigned pictures to contacts, etc.!!! It's getting old. Anyway to fix that???
Press the standby button.
I intsalled the reg edit No_Sleep_Raph this stops the phone going into standby for voicemail or phone banking.
The phone will blank the screen depending on the power settings I have or standbye button.
If I accpet a call I normally press teh answer button and while putting it to my ear press the standby button
That maybe a solution...
I would think they would've done something like the treo phones..
They've got a setting to lock the screen during a phone call until you press a physical button... Or something like that. Worked great.
How difficult it would be to program something like that?
Have you tried this?

I haven't tried that yet. From what I read it seems like it will be good for not answering the phone inside your pocket... I didn't see anything about it locking
during a call... But I may have overlooked that, and I would assume it is one of the settings.
Can anyone confirm whether this program will allow you to lock the screen during a call and allow you to unlock it with a physical button?
Sorry, can't help you with that as it doesn't seem to work with the latest ROMeOS rom but IIRC you had to remove the stylus in order to use the touchscreen.
wrong post, sorry.
Hi,
I am just new to this pocket PC phone (just the old HTC Touch) and i tried out installing an IP Phone Keyboard program. When I wasnt happy about it, i uninstalled it but it messed up my SIP. The default standard input keyboard now is cut at the bottom (meaning i dont see the entire last row of Ctrl, space bar, etc.) but there's a black row appearing at the top of the input keyboard. It looks like the input keyboard was dragged down. Worse, the suggested words now appear at the bottom of the screen (where your normal Send or Cancel buttons are).
I really would appreciate your advise and help in getting this resolved. Dont know where to run to or whom to raise this to.
Thank you and looking forward to your response.

Restart your PPC. After that go to settings--> input---> select default input keyboard and try.
Hope it will help.
Are you using the default keyboard?
You can install any other SIP and it should work fine even if the default keyboard's having problems.
You can also hard reset incase you don't manage anything else.
I'm not aware of a bug concerning the default keyboard showing wrong except for something which goes away after a soft reset.
Thanks very much for your responses. Unfortunately, I did all that (set keyboard as default, try installing another keyboard software, soft reset and hard reset) but the problem still persists. I am almost in the vicinity of regretting why i had this PPC.
can you specify exactly which app caused this problem?
I have a stock sidekick 4g and I was able to reproduce this behavior on my friend's Samsung Galaxy. Some people have complained about randomly dropping keys but it's not random at all.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Go to the home screen with hardware keyboard out.
2) Type "test" quickly
3) "tst" appears in the search box (or some other letters get dropped)
I can do this 9/10 times.
While the phone is loading the search widget, it drops keystrokes. It happens in other places: market search, texting while the phone is doing something in the background, etc.
I don't have any trouble hitting multiple keys or the same key twice really fast. If the search box is up and the phone isn't thinking, all of the keys I hit make it into the box. Both phones run FroYo.
Question: How do I fix this? Can it be fixed? Is this a well-known problem?
I have an annoying problem with my text input suddenly forcing All CAPS for no apparent reason. I am using the dock and this happens when I don't even have the caps lock button enabled. this sometimes happens if I choose to capitalise a letter using the shift> letter command, after doing this it seems that all text is capitalized. Sometimes I am able to switch off the caps by deleting to the previous sentence where things were normal, but sometimes this won't work.
I'm using SWIFTKEY TABLET X if that makes any difference. Incidentally the capitalisation stated when I typed the capital x just before when I was typing SwiftKey. The capitals would not switch off until I navigated back to some lower case text and typed some stuff, but before returning to where I left off.
Super frustrating and can't seem to resolve it. Not sure if this is a SwiftKey issue or something that others using stock honeycomb keyboard are experiencing?
All help appreciated.
I noticed that same thing. It happens after I come out of sleep. I thought it was the cover resting on the shift key, but it even happens with the dock open.
Pressing the shift key once seems to fix it. I've got a B8O dock with a B5O tablet. The only other non-stock thing I have is WiFi off in sleep. How about you?
Think of the keyboard on the dock as an extension of the software keyboard you are using. In this case, what's probably occurring here is that you're hitting shift twice, and therefore putting the software keyboard into Caps Lock. Just hit shift again to return it to normal. Also, it really is a good idea to switch your keyboard to the stock on when you have the tablet docked.
I doubt I was double shifting (anything like double clutching???), but I'll pay more attention to this.
I was using the standard keyboard. I'll try using the Asus keyboard and see if that resolves the issue.
Anyone still having issues with this?
I am still having the problems, although the shift thing does resolve it a lot of the time.
Shame that ASUS decided to do nothing about this..... REALLY grinds my gears that the vast majority of companies just take the cash and run, and leaving behind a product that could be so much more.
Thankfully we have XDA.
Anyone figured out any way to change the launch buttons on the dock? Since I don't ever use the stock browser this button has become useless.
Tried searching with various keywords for this issue. Wasn't able to find anything. Would appreciate any assistance or a link to a thread that this was discussed in. Thanks.
Issue: I have not figured out the actual trigger yet, but very frequently when i'm composing an SMS/MMS, when I need to press on the backspace, it brings me to a different screen which is asking me about clearing entire words. Clicking the cancel and/or the back menu button doesn't do anything. Sometimes it requires multiple attempts or sometimes switching to portrait or landscape and reattempting. Once it does clear that screen. It doesn't allow me to bring up the keyboard again unless i completely back out of composing the msg or again having to switch to opposite screen orientation. Been dealing with this for sometime, but its been happening more frequently and annoying. Any help you can provide is appreciated.
Running inspired saga v1.1.
thanks in advance.
This happens if you open the keyboard in portrait, switch to landscape, and then have to backspace to correct a word. Rotate your phone to the landscape position first and then open the keyboard. Switching mid text will get you. It is an annoying bug.

Thanks. Sucks that there's no fix for it yet or at least no one has replied yet to direct me to a fix. Its bothersome enough that I'll most likely need to switch sms apps.
