HTC Magic Orientation and Acceleration Sensors - myTouch 3G, Magic Android Development

Hi, Does anybody know whether the accelerometer inside HTC Magic obtains acceleration readings from calculating the data generated by the digital compass built in the phone? Or the accelerometer and the compass actually generate the data independently?
Thank you very much in advance!

Any software that will record video and overlay GPS info?

Is there any software that will capture video on my Touch HD and overlay GPS info and time? Or any hints on how to do this in code?
Cheers.
Paul.
Im also in a search for this kind of app, but so far the best i find is live media and it does not overlay gps data in the video but it saves gps data as separeted file... So I really hope someone comes up with some app that works with incorporated overlay data soon.

we need the new pedometer application for hd2!!!

We need the new pedometer application for HD2 based on Accelerometer sensor because elitemway pedometer 1:42 works very bad on hd2!

TomTom zoom issue

I searched through the forum but couldn't find an answer so I hope this hasn't been covered yet.
Running the VGA version TomTom on a Diamond2 works like a charm. By only issue (other than the lack of elevation data) is that when driving and using the automated zoom function the 2D map zooms out too far so you don't see smaller roads anymore.
If you would run this on a VGA device it would chose one zoom level further in which is just right.
Is there any way to influence what zoom level TomTom uses when in automatic mode?
in the options, Change Prefferences find 2D/3D maps and set it to 3D only, it wont zoom out then when your driving.
Thanks! But unfortunately I only use the 2D view and it is the details I am missing in the standard zoom level.

Embedded Sensor Penetration on Modern Mobile Devices

I'm currently doing some research related to embedded sensors in mobile devices. In the research, I utilize data collected from the accelerometer, gyroscope, and touchscreen of the device. My motivation behind using these sensors in particular is that they are available almost universally on smartphones and tablet.
However, because this is research, I need to back up the claim that they are available everywhere with numbers or results. I am having a hard time finding a source that shows the percentage of mobile devices with a given sensor. For example, a list like this would be ideal:
Code:
Accelerometer: 96.7%
Gyroscope: 83.2%
Touchscreen: 99.5%
Front-Facing Camera: 69.3%
Rear-Facing Camera: 79.5%
Any help from the wizard developers here is much appreciated.
