all the same
Which Radio and Rom use the other Uni??? Any other Installed Software differences??
-they have same
RADIO=1.18
ROM=luca's vanilla 23016.5.3.0
same applications and programs installed..
in short identical UNI..

Same here some time ago.
Solution: My RSS-feed-reader tried to connect every 5-10 minutes. Even the Uni was closed. So the batts were empty in about 1 day.
Maybe you have a programm like mine...

thanks for your help CHOSEN_ONE....but the programs i have on my two uni were all stock or i should say pre-installed software from luca's rom...and i think none on its programs or software are draining my battery fast..it so happen that only on that specific uni it drains fast...but the other it last more than a day..

experimental solution
1. ive downgraded my radio from 1.18 to 1.11
2. configured activesync option for server connection..ive switched the connection manually under the schedule option..
as a result it somehow slows down the draining time..but it is still under observation..i will just post here my findings as soon as i get some good results..
thanks for all those who helped me out so far..

Radio definitely one important point for Battery, second is the band wide 3G/GPRS. Setting your uni to 3G will sure use more power. The age of the hardware (screen, and others) may also effect your power consumtion.. I dont remembr but here in this forum is a tool to check power consumtion per mA..you may look in to that

thanks for your help sir..
im using 1.11 radio instead of 1.18 (experimental solution)
im also using the GSM band not the 3G/UMTS (not using 3G eversince)
the hardware version of my uni thats draining fast is G4..
i also have a G3 and another G4 which works fine with 1.18 radio..
if i do have a time i will search for that consumption per mA thing...

my uni is now working fine..
hey guys...thanks for all of your help...

my little experiment works....

2. configured activesync option for server connection..ive switched the connection manually under the schedule option..

New Radio version: 02.47.11

I just finish to download the new radio version for our devices. I can not tell you my impressions about the new radio version, but you can download in Wiki, placed on a folder.
couple of questions on the Radio ROM
1. It looks like it is a G4 Radio ROM. Will it work on the G3 version? If not, where can I find the latest Radio ROM for the G3 version?
2. Does it enable Blackberry Connect support on the Prophet by any chance?
Thanks.
Isn't this the Radio ROM from the Wizard? There is a topic in the Prophet part of the forum that discusses this..
I thought the latest original Radio version for the Prophet was 2.30.21.
I also tried the 2.47.11 on my Prophet. Reception was better, but battery life was drammatic
Wizard, Tornado, Prophet, Oxygen, Artemis, Excalibur:
all these models are based on pretty much same platform.
Latest Radio ( GSM firmaware) for these devices that I am aware of is:
GSM 2.67.90
Just thought that I will let you this know.
Yes I noticed that the reception is much better but at cost of the battery duration. Let me still making more tests about these new Radio.
my radio rom is 2.19.21 how and and how I would get the newst stable?q
The cost is very expensive, at least for me. Just one night, without calls, or touch the Prophet full charge and in the morning the batery meter is almost 26 % less !!!!!!!! Guauuuuu! is to much, you don't think so?
Let me still testing.
Yeah, I already tried this radio rom on my S200 and it drains a lot of batt. I don't recommend it to anyone...
I revert to the other radio rom that is floating around here, but I think that also drains a little more that the official ones....
so which radio rom version we/I should use? And where can I download?
I foud something is not right. When I like to turn the device on, (right button) to make a call phone or make a consult or whatever, the device is dead, so I have to make a soft reset. That's pass me very often, so I decide to revert to other radio version, I mean, to 02.30.21.
My impression about this Radio Version:
Pros: Better signal in all aspect.
Contra: Battery duration, inestable.
So, end of my private testing.
ok. this is something that I would like to check:
The standby mode power consumption is 21mA which it doesn't meet the spec.(but if pressing the key lock into
standby mode, the power consumption is 2.1mA.)
please keep your keypad locked at all the time and see if that will improve battery life.
I wish that I could explain better
this should be valid for all devices with this radio. not only for wizard.
Thanks.

Hello,
I use a prophet whith an older radio 02.30.11.
Do you mean that when you lock the keyboard from the today plugin, the consumption is less?
I tried it today for the whole day and now I have 80% from 100% this morning which is very good! Is it because of the locking?
edit: BTW, how did you measure your consumption?
I tested this radio ROM long time ago when it was first posted here. But I changed back to 02.30.21 after one day.
It was a terrible experience, the device automatically reset during conversations very often. One day, I had to reset the prophet for more than 10 times!!!!!
So, I went back to 02.30.21 right away. And I also warned others not to install this radio ROM in this forum, too. I can not believe you guys are still so brave to take the risk.
@andrew_sh
Do you mean that when you lock the keyboard from the today plugin, the consumption is less?
Yes, that is correct. this bug present in 02.47.xx radio and is fixed in later radios.
I tried it today for the whole day and now I have 80% from 100% this morning which is very good! Is it because of the locking?
Good! I have same result on all my test devices.
edit: BTW, how did you measure your consumption?
I have not meassured it myself. Information in bold is per ... technical documentation

I'm back to radio version 2.30.21 and everything going like a charm, fantastic.
were can I download for my prophet 2.30.21?Mine is still running:
2.19.21
You can find that Radio ROM on the FTP Or use the search...

in search of battery friendly rom

hi currently im using lvsw prophet 220734 rom.im new to ppc .is the rom im using good enough?
and any applications to make battery drain little low.tips pls? thank you all.
Google for Battery Status or OPAMScaler both reduce Clock of the CPU. This save a lot Power. Read wiki.
@parmghali
better you google for OMAPscaler
I use LvsW ROM the one with 8mb pool page. Good performance and the most accurated compsuption i've tested. I have tried among smarts, true, jesterz, shipping roms... i think this one is the one to keep.
Every radio rom past 2.19 gives me low battery time.
I'm using now 2.19.21 with AKU 2.3. AKU 2.3 solved the problem about "home service" on the current network. 2.19.21 solved the problem where the phone was always registering with the GSM netowrk, draining the battery very quickly.
I went from 1 day and a half using 2.61.21 and 2.69.21 radios @aku2.2 to three and a half days of battery time with 2.19.21 [email protected] aku2.3.
me too.
2.19.21 is the best choice for my Prophet (Qtek-ROM 2.20), long standyby and no problems with gprs.

does ipl/spl matter?

hey
does it matter which version of IPL/SPL you have?
i noticed a lot of roms asks for ipl/spl 2.xxx, mine appears to have upgraded itself to 3.08 while i was trying out my home brewed roms!
could anybody shed any help on this?
thanx
3.08 is perfectly fine...
Just that most roms were cooked b4 3.08 came out. I'd be worried only if you had a 1.x IPL/SPL...
well it seems to be occasion to ask:
- can i flash ipl/spl without need of flashing system(xplore in ex.) again,
- does it really matter: i am using 2.xx now, is 3.xx better one?
- should i go back to wizard love to flash ipl/spl?

1. Yes, you can flash IPL/SPL without reflashing the OS. Just look for an IPL/SPL-only ROM. REMEMBER TO NOTE WHETHER YOU HAVE A G3 OR G4.
2. If you're on 2.xx, flashing to 3.xx isn't really necessary. I did it myself and I only notice ~10-20% faster in boot time. Otherwise, I don't really notice a difference. Some people may beg to differ though.
3. Don't quite understand what you're asking here... I've never used it myself but Wizard Love is generally used if you have boot problems... Whenever you flash a new ROM, it is highly recommended that you first flash to T-mo 2.26 or your latest carrier ROM first. Don't really know why, but from the experiences of many members here, your will encounter less problems with your new ROM.
thanks for reply...
ok, last question so far:
- are these "problems" battery related?
i have strange random issues with my power management, regardless of any method i am trying to use... it was ok, after hr is not... no clear pattern.... ;/

the only difference i can notice on 3.xx over 2.xx is the boot time...it is incredibly faster on 3.xx...

What is considered OK? What is considered not? What are you experiencing exactly? More info plz...
before i changed my ipl/spl to 3.08..
i was running ipl @ 1.01 and spl @ 2.something.. (cant remember)
so it doesn't really matter... i could do everything i wanted...
you know, i cant find reason of power drain i am experiencing; its unclear for me completely.
everything was ok, i started to make some registry changes, and i went too far, did HR, and after setting everything again i charged battery to max and then i noticed 240-290 mA drain, cpu temp was 32-33 degrees ! softresets didnt help, so it may be some kind of internal counter, that do not reset, and machine thinks, that battery "is not" charged to max, despite showing 100%...and its discharging as mad...
now i am trying to discharge battery almost to the max and charge it again... i will see whats happen... everything was ok before HR, only tweak i used related to power was htc power management tweak... now, after HR it didnt help... i have 34 mA drain after turning machine on, but in few secs its 240-290 again... not 120, not 140, 240-290... with wifi, irda, and bt turned off..
also, machine is discharging when turned off, i mean fast power loss, noticeable faster, than usual...
i hope, that method with charging it to the max and charging again will help...
its so damn annoying..
machine was flashed with 100% battery charge, btw..
sorry for LQ english..

Numerous people have had a number of issues trying to run WM6 when the IPL or SPL was 1.xx. It DOES make a difference. The fact that it worked for you meant you were either lucky, or not seeing some of the issues (the entire rom wasn't broken, but certain features didn't work, or didn't work correctly). Go read the early WM6 threads and some of the major complaints on those roms were fixed when the phone was re-flashed so that the IPL and SPL were both 2.xx. The same issue tended to show up again when others had an IPL or SPL of 1.xx (so it was reproducible).

Best Radio Rom for O2 UK?

I am currently using 1.64.08.21 and I find the battery drains very quickly with only average usage. I have turned beam off, but I like having HSDPA enabled, it certainly drians faster than the standard O2 radio rom version.
Does anyone have any experience with them on O2 in the uk.
NB, I am on Duttys latest, which is a brilliant rom.

[Q] Help !!!! ICS ? GPS? BATTERY

Hi guys , a new noob here out in this forum and I ve got to say thanks
for XDA, it helped me solve lot of problems
I got my sensation 2 months back and i am new to android, this is my
first android.
Well I have some few question that are unresolved so I am posting about
this .
First thing is universal problem - the battery , well on standby its
lasting like 14 hrs - wats your standby time?? and if I play games it lasts 5 hrs max .. is this normal?
But from the past 2 days on stand by my battery
is draining out like anything its lasting only 3-4 hrs on standyby - any
ideas on y this is happening or any app to monitor which app is
draining out my battery , I restarted like 10-15 times but still the
same
Shall i update to ICS (official update), i ve heard lot of pros and cons , I am from
India any suggestion whether to go or not
Gps isnt working without Internet Connection , I have saved offline
google maps but that aint working , any help on this one
Camera lags a bit . usually have to wait 4 seconds to get the picture clarity
EDIT : My sensation came with 8gb memory card and it has lot of memory occupied and i dono for what (like in .data ,.android_secure folders etc) . I want to use 16gb memory card . should i copy all the data which my card contains? like after factory set my card occupies around 3-4gb should i copy all that data
I would be happy to see my queries resolved here .:fingers-crossed:..
THANK YOU XDA :good:
Upgrade to ICS
then check gps and camera issue that you are having
as you are on GingerBread SOFF will be easy for you
here follow this guide to the letter ..starting from SOFF
(even though guide explains flashing ARHD rom ...the procedure can be applied to any rom )
Also change out stock battery for a extended battery.Anker makes a great extended battery and it's about ten dollars . Mugen also makes a great battery, the 3800mah is the one I got and can get two days with heavy use out of the battery.but most people prefer Anker as it is much more affordable where the mugen is 95 dollars. But either way a extended battery will benefit you greatly. You can find Anker online from amazon. You will not regret changing to a extended life battery, it will make a great difference for you!
sent from HTC sensation, soff, 3.33 firmware, viper Rom, sense 4.1, kernel version PYD-X stable 3.1, mugen battery 3800mah. Please press thanks if I helped in anyway.

For the battery issue. My suggestion would be that have a deep look around in Google Play. There are some good applications you can use to find out what drains your battery. As you mentioned your device is 2 month old so I doubt it was a hardware issue. I assume it is an application related problem. Something might run in the background. You can also try to remove the battery for couple of minutes, then put it back, power up your device and see if the problem still exists. In worst case scenario you could do a factory reset. That will put your device back to the original, factory state. Remember to backup your messages, phonebook... etc. before proceed! I hope your issue will be solved!

Thanks buddy ... I dont want to reset . I ve got like 120 apps which i cant reinstall again very difficult. searched play store there are some apps but they are jus showing statistics instead of showing which app consumed my batttery..
How about going to settings and check the battery use there? That should tell you as well what consume the battery. Give it a try! And I think Google Play should backup all your apps, so when you reset your phone then go to Google Play it should reinstall all your apps again. But I am not 100% sure about that. If your device was rooted you could use Titanium Backup for this. 120 apps??!! Maybe it's just me who using 15-20... For how to S-OF, what it is and for a lot of more useful information about the HTC Sensation read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716955
