With the launch of Windows Phone 6.5 looming, phone addicts are already looking towards Microsoft’s next release, Windows Phone 7.
Although there are few details available about what improvements we’ll see with Windows Phone 7 - also known as Windows Mobile 7 - it has been hinted that the operating system will be aimed more at the consumer market, although Windows’ traditional business credentials will still remain under the surface.

Project: Control Windows Media Center using a WM5 Device

I recently came across this tutorial for writing an application that will allow you to control Media Center from your Windows Mobile 5 (and above, I guess) device over wi-fi.
You will need Visual Basic or Visual C# Express Editions, Windows Media Center SDK 5.0, and Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone SDK.
Looks like a fun project, but I've got exams in a few days' time, so will have to wait until the beginning of June to try it out I guess.

This does sound like an interesting project.

Is it possible: Free Maps on Windows Mobile 6.1

Hi,
i already found Mobile GMaps for Windows Mobile. However it is insanely difficult to install and it needs IBM Weme which is commercial and currently you can't even download the trial (IBM links are all dead)
So are there any free Maps (especially Germany) that I can preload to my Windows Mobile 6.1 phone ?
Thanks in advance !
IBM just release the Mobile GMaps for Windows Mobile demo version so i don't think you can use it for along time

... according to site WMPowerUsers,
Updated August 9th, 2010, Porting Windows Phone 7 will be nearly impossible. If someone has any updated information on how to Port Windows Phone 7, please share. I've read all other threads posted, and still no update. Thanks.

I'm sure you have that same search option much like 100% of the users here do.
Of course if that's not really your style and you would like to go for a larger scale with your WP7 'research', I've found this video that would probably help you out:

According to a report by Boomerang Microsoft paid the Finnish mobile leader Nokia a total of $1 Billion as a part of Software Agreement between the two companies. Nokia is supposed to for each copy of Windows [Phone] based OS or application it uses on its devices to Microsoft.
The agreement is to last for “5 years”
Stephen Elop, Nokia’s CEO siad publicly that he wants Nokia branded hardware running Windows Phone software in market before the close of 2011.
Is this the fear of Google’s Android ? or just a smart deal by Microsoft
All android users know the answer.
